  1. Didn't he have 0 tackles in that game? He was a major reason the Bills lost. The left side of the Giant OL basically worked Smith and Talley for most of that game. Still, he had many strong games and was a great player for the team over the course of his career.
  2. He didn't look like a double team sponge in the pre-season. He looked like someone who was very slow to react to what was happening around him. Just because he is big and strong, doesn't mean that he will be a good NFL football player.
  3. This is obvious, but one think that it doesn't factor in is Fred Jackson. Yes, the Bills passing game can be stopped for the above reasons but Jackson has averaged 4.7 ypc over the course of the season and 6.3 ypc over the last two weeks. He will be featured more but when it's 21-0 before all the fans can find their seats the running game is pretty much out the window.
  4. I don't care if he drinks in his off time, but if if affects his ability to do his job (practice) then it's a problem. Hopefully he'll learn from this and it wont happen again.
  5. From the article: "Bell is another under-the-radar player capable of protecting the blindside and is a vital piece to the Bills' offense with an expiring contract. Though he's an above average pass protector, he's an even better run blocker for the left side. The Bills have some work to be done to keep all of the pieces together, which could allow Bell to slip through the cracks into free agency." This doesn't jive with what I've seen or what Gailey has indicated in his time here. Given his injury history, mediocre run blocking, Hairston behind him, and the likelyhood of him demanding big $ in free agency, I doubt that he will be resigned.
  6. Frankly, I think that OLB, WR and CB are all co-equal priorities, with OT and DT right behind.
  7. Here's a link. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7213105/tampa-bay-buccaneers-claim-albert-haynesworth-waivers-new-england-patriots
  8. I think you're thinking of Rob Grownkowski, his brother.
  9. 1) Stop the run 2) Pressure the QB without heavy blitzing. 3) Make big plays in the passing game. PS- Dallas is not going to allow the Bills to establish the run. They's going to outnumber the Bills up front. Buffalo is going to have to make big plays against them.
  10. He's too small for me to hear his voice.
  11. The people on this board don't need any prodding to "blast" the Patriots.
  12. I don't know why the fans would want to replace anyone on this team. This team is perfect.
  13. I think that how players respond to this poll says more about them than the player that they're naming as the most overrated. There are many players making more $ and producing less than Tebow. He's at the top of the list for other reasons besides his ability.
  14. 3 of top 5 are DBs on Houston (#1 ranked defense as of this week) 3 of top 5 are DBs on Baltimore (#2) 3 of top 5 are DBs on Pittsburgh (#3) So, I'd say it's a pattern.
  15. Probably needed to consider a throw to the end zone there as well given the situation in the game. The play they ran is probably the worst one to call, imo.
  16. I hope that the Bills are falling into Rex Ryans trap the way the fans are. Forget about Mabyin and focus on the real keys to the game. Maybin is a sideshow.
  17. The Jets will be ready for this game. The have played in many big games over the last two seasons, are used to playing with a high level of emotion (see win over NE in the playoffs) and are coming off a bye week. In addition, they match up pretty well against the Bills. Buffalo will also be ready for this game but I can't envision a Bills blowout.
  18. My thoughts exactly. I still think that if the Bills had a more explosive kick returner they would look a lot better.
  19. It's easy to see why Maybin has such bad feelings towards the Bills. He produced big time for them while he was in Buffalo and was only paid a few peanuts for his contribution. Wait...
  20. The AP article says that Hairston and Levitre are expected to split time at LT and that Levitre has a shoulder injury....
  21. The complex Jets defense may not be the team to start a semi-injured rookie at left tackle against. The Bills may be better off with Levitre there for one more week.
  22. Well, if your list goes back to the 2000 team then you'd better make room for Ted Washington, Pat Williams, Ruben Brown, John Fina, Phil Hansen and Marcellus Wiley IMO. Also, you should add some special teams players. I vote for Moorman and Christie as punter and a kicker, and Parrish and McGee and punt and kick returners.
  23. It's always the same BS. First, the Bills can't win with Fitz... now they are winning. If the make the playoffs it will be "He can lead them to the playoffs but not a championship". The only way that he will shut people up is to do it. Fitzpatrick is better than several QBs that have won Super Bowls, so yes he can do it. PS- Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard?
  24. I don't think that Moats or Batten can play 4-3 OLB with extensive coverage responsibilities. Ditto Merriman or Johnson or whomever they throw out there. I'm also not sure that Barnett is stout enough for 4-3 MLB (maybe). I agree that the DL is better suited to a 4-3 than 3-4. Hence the current "hybrid". Also, I really don't think that it matters which alignment they play. They need to be better individually and more creative in their rush schemes to get anywhere. That's the real problem
