  1. Well, Karlos is past his rookie season so he's moving in the opposite direction as Bruce.
  2. Bruce Smith was the biggest fitness fanatic on the team. He had the body fat percentage of a corner back. He used to literally break the stair masters he was working out on.
  3. You are insane. If Tyrod has a strong season then he is the top priority without question. Now, if he shows regression instead of progression then it's a different story.
  4. Winning 2 out of 4 is a lot different than 0 out of 3. But, I agree that some of it is a small city bias.
  5. Lebron has won two championships and has two finals MVPs, so he is certainly not a big game choker. The Cavs are only 0-2 in the finals, so they've got some work to go before they're the Bills. However, I think the comparisons are somewhat valid in the sense that the Cavs have dominated their conference only to get smoked in the finals, just like the Bills.
  6. It's tough to determine what is best. Half of the posters say Fitz sucks and will never beat Rex or lead a team to the playoffs. That would lead one to conclude that it would be good for the Bills if he re-signed. The other half think that he is better than their other QBs, who have no shot of being good even though two of the three have never played a down yet. That would lead one to conclude that if would be better for the Bills if the Jets let Fitz "get away". In either case, it appears that the Jets have no chance according to nearly everyone. So what's to worry about?
  7. There is more faith in their QBs, I think. Although I would put Tyrod even with Carr, personally.
  8. "Big Fat Rob Ryan" sounds a little mean spirited to me. The guy has a weight problem. He's not alone in this country. But I don't think that his weight has anything to do with his ability as a defensive coordinator.
  9. I put the Bills failures mostly on the QB. As I said originally, I think that going no huddle puts the spotlight on your QB. In the Bills case, that was not good.
  10. I knew that eventually this thread would turn into complaining about other Bills fans who criticize the team. They all do.
  11. I don't think the no huddle requires any more pass protection than a huddling offense. In fact, the idea is that you go so fast and put so much pressure on the defense that they have to limit their calls and go more "vanilla". This would actually help the pass protection and allow the QBs to make simpler reads, therefore getting the ball out quicker.
  12. I agree. The only downside is that if they give him a tryout they will be getting every weekend jock who thinks that they might have a shot stalking them for the next two years.
  13. It's mostly on the QB. If he's good then the no huddle can be a powerful weapon. If not then it only amplifies his ineptitude, IMO. So, we'll see how good Bortles is I guess.
  14. Wow. Sounds terrible. Good thing that link didn't have pictures.
  15. This is revisionist history. Wade fell on his sword to protect an utterly inept assistant. Ralph wanted to retain him.
  16. This concern was discussed by the media and fans at the time. However, the prevailing opinion seemed to be that, as a defensive genius, Rex would adjust to his personnel and they wouldn't miss a beat. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way.
  17. Whenever OJ got the ball on a handoff the entire crowd would stand up to get a better view, like they didn't want to miss the next epic run. I've never seen anything like that since.
  18. I can see and support not "cutting him out". He is their father and a human being. Yes, he made mistakes but you don't give up on a person because of them. On the other hand, I don't think they should be defending his actions or attacking his accusers. That's not helping anybody.
  19. So many great memories. My personal favorite is the loss to San Diego in the 1981 playoffs when Fouts hit some stupid receiver with a 50 yard pass for the winning TD late in the 4th quarter... On the exact same route that had been picked off on the previous drive. Fun times.
  20. That's because he's a 3-4 guy and his schemes are designed to maximize the effectiveness of his LBs, not his DL.
  21. There's balance you have to maintain. At the NFL level, no team is so much better than their opponents that they can just line up in a vanilla scheme and win. On the other hand, it's usually a lot easier to confuse bad teams with scheme than good ones. At some point you have to beat the guy in front of you if you are going to win the big games. Bills need to find the right mix.
  22. I think a WR like Benjamin would have had a major impact in the Super Bowl. Also, their defense was #6 last season and looked pretty good in the playoffs against the best offenses in the NFC, so it's not as bad as you seem to think.
  23. They get Kelvin Benjamin back this season which should be very useful. So it's not all losing.
  24. Dalton is so overrated, IMO. I honestly think he is marginally better than Fitz. He has just played on a great team his entire career so his stats look better.
