  1. There's just no reason to take the cap hit unless he's actively stirring up trouble or unrest in the locker room. Just let his contract play out and then let him go. He's still useful for spot duty.
  2. To this point, LA has been unable to successfully support one NFL team. It's amazing to me that the Owners think it will suddenly support two.
  3. Just ask the great Al Michaels. He was busy crowning the Patriots before any games were played. That might be easiest for Gilmore, but I don't think he's good enough to shut down the top WRs in the league 1v1. Do you really think he could stop guys like Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr, AJ Green, etc. without help? I don't.
  4. Whats really bizarre is Matt Ryan said that the bills had 8 guys in the box so he went with the play action pass option. They only had 6 men in the box.😂
  5. Those guys just win. Championship. Forget the stats.
  6. lol. Off to bed I guess.
  7. Romo sounds like a middle schooler.
  8. What if the protests exacerbate the divisions in our country. Isn’t that just as likely?
  9. If he really thought that this wouldnt be offensive then he is totally naive. Perhaps I overestimated his political accumin. Lol. But obviously numerous people ARE offended and I think he suspected that would be the case, despite what he wrote. If he chose a benign form of protest he just wouldnt get the attention he has.
  10. That seems pretty cut and dry. And never enforced too.
  11. Look I understand why Hughes is upset, but how can people who are defending free speech complain that someone “went off reservation” by not towing the team line?
  12. Hughes was upset by what he was doing on the sidelines. I don’t know if it’s a decisive difference, but it probably is an important one.
  13. Yeah, right. Because the left never gave George W Bush crap or the right didnt crucify the Clintons for 20 years straight. Everything is about race. Thats why people love the current white president.
  14. The protests started over a year before the presidents comments. The method has long been established. It has been chosen because it offends people and therefore gets attention. I don’t really see how this can even be debated, tbh.
  15. I respect this post. I wish more people would just own the fact that these are meant to be offensive and they are. I wonder if these will help their cause or just harden resistance.
  16. I really can’t disagree with this more.A) McCoy was definitely doing his own thing on the sidelines. I seriously doubt that was discussed or preapproved by the team. B) If the whole argument against criticizing these protests is that people should be allowed to peacefully express their beliefs (as guaranteed by the constitution) then what is the basis for criticizing Kelly when he’s doing just that. C) the president says that if you don’t stand for the anthem then you should be fired. You say that if Kelly doesn’t tow the team line then he should get out of the way. What’s the difference?
  17. He is talking about Jerry Hughes not wanting Jim Kelly on the sideline because he’s not towing the team line. That’s the only point of view being excluded.
  18. Which is in itself a distraction while everyone’s wallets are stolen.
  19. That’s what you and probably many of them would like to believe, but the method of protest that they have chosen is going far beyond that, as you can see by the reaction.
  20. And offensive. You keep leaving that out...
  21. Everyone gets this. But why did they chose this way to protest? Because they know that it is offensive and will piss off (and therefore get the attention of) a lot of people. So, yes, it is offensive by specific intent. I dont think youd be seeing whats going on today if they wrote letters to their congressmen or something mundane like that. Like when the draft and war protesters burned American flags in the 60s.
  22. I agree with Kelly. McCoy was ove the top. He went beyond protesting was basically saying that he can do whatever he wants during the anthem, whether it’s stretching, talking to some friends or taking a dump. Whatever. It certainly stood out. I had two friends specifically call his behavior out at the start of the game and in today’s press conference McDermott was hit with questions specifically about Shady as well.
  23. It’s as simple as this honestly. Hughes and the team have decided how they are going to play this and they don’t want anyone else with a different point of view with them on the sidelines. Right or wrong, that’s clearly what he’s saying.
