The one caveat that needs to be stated, however, is that Levitre was the top rated Guard in FA this season. Limited supply and high demand = overpaying. Wallace is probably not even in the top 15 at WR in the NFL, yet look what he got paid. He was the biggest name WR in FA right now, that's why. I'd rather not grossly overpay however and think the Bills made a tough, tough choice..but the right one.

though i really liked Levitre, he wasn't dominant. He was good, but not dominant. At 8mil/year I want/expect dominance. The bills offensive line time and time again had 3rd and shorts or 4th and inches and consistently failed to gain a few inches in the running game. Levitre was part of that offensive line that when push came to shove, got pushed around. Wish him nothing but the best.

I understand this argument, however, what if we finish with the 8th pick again next year. Heck, what if we finish with the 10th - 15th pick? What if Manziel doesn't even declare? Analysts are always quick to hype up prospects and then quick to bring them down. Matt Barkley sure looked like a can't miss prospect 2 years ago and now look at him.

That's where you and I disagree - we trade up for Geno BECAUSE this is a weak class, except for Geno. Again, this is my opinion of Geno. Obviously for the people here who don't think much of him, they want nothing to do with trading up. Geno will be a major player in the NFL. He has the arm to make every single throw at the NFL level, and he has performed at an elite level in college. What else can we as Bills fans possibly want from a QB prospect? Would a better strategy be wait until there's a "strong" draft class? There are too many factors that can influence where we pick next year or the following year or who the heck will even be declaring from college. We live in the now and as of right now we have freaking TJax as our starting QB and NO viable backup. That's scary. I just find it hilarious how poster after poster on this board cried like babies because we didn't have a "real" QB in Fitz and how Fitz was preventing this team from reaching the next level but when it comes time to actually go after a QB, now we can afford to wait until next year's draft..or the year after..or until the tooth fairy drops one in our lap. This board is comical. Also, if we take a QB this year in the 2nd round, lets say Nassib. Don't you think we're going to give him a shot as well to "prove" himself? So ya, i'd rather do this all over again in 2016 after at least giving it our best shot with the best option (Geno) than doing this all over again in 2016 after giving the shot to a 2nd tier QB.

I dont buy this whole we only have 6 picks BS. There have been recent years where we've had a surplus of picks and where the hell have those stockpiles gotten us? I'd rather draft the guy we think will be the QB for the next ten years and sign FA scrubs as a stop-gap than to continue avoiding the QB position. Why just dip our toe in the water and go for a second tier QB? Dive into the pool for once and see what happens. Christ we have very little to lose at this point and much to gain. The one missing factor in every draft for the bills in recent years has been drafting a top-notch talent at QB in the draft. We either avoid the position or draft 2nd tier/3rd tier QBs. Drafting Geno will at the very least give this franchise some direction.

1. Marrone didn't come to the NFL to go "full on tank mode" 2. Who the heck knows if Manziel will even declare next year or what injuries there will be in college. What if Clowney blows out his knee? We don't know - 1,000 factors in one year to consider. 3. What if we finish 6-10 again? Then what? Do we trade up THEN? Or do we continue "full on tank mode" 4. Do the players know we're "full on tank mode"? Just curious.

Bills in full-on Tank mode

Geeze. Wouldn't the most direct route simply be to draft a franchise QB? -
Trade up to #3 if possible and take Geno Smith. 1. He has by far the most physical tools of any QB in this draft to succeed at the next level. 2. He most likely will not be there at #8. 3. The thought of having TJax starting for us next season makes me want to vomit. 4. The thought of us drafting Nassib makes me want to vomit 4a. If we draft Nassib, I think (I could be wrong) that this wouuld be the first time in NFL history where a HC, OC, and QB all come to the NFL the same season from a single college program. 4b. For no other reason than 4a, I want nothing to do with Nassib. Ya, it's a silly reason, but holy sh*t, Syracuse, though Marrone got the most out of them, didn't do much of anything in a rather weak conference, so what the heck should we expect from the same exact group in the NFL. Do we make the Syracuse Athletic Director the Bills GM next? Shoot me. There really isn't a single QB in this draft (other than Geno) that excites me in any way. We need the draft picks but I'd be willing to trade away our first 3 picks this year and take a chance (for once) on a premier QB prospect. If not this season, with a completely different regime, when?

Wish you nothing but the best Fitz! Now, who's going to release Buddy?

Ranking Bills Last 3 Starting QBs
bobobonators replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
dude, what in the world is the point of this? The 50yd BOMB to Stevie against Pitt a couple of years ago was the best play the Bills have had in the last 15 years..until SJ dropped it Stop with the nonsense. We get that Fitz isn't great, but putting a highlight real of Trent Edwards against the Jaguars?? LMAO. -
DeadSpin - Convo Between Nix and Tampa GM
bobobonators replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lmao..what's comforting about that? Fit was the same player today than he was when he was given the huge extension. Buddy is a clown. Nix should say "the bills are screwed because of me" and not throw fitz under the bus. You're the one running the show, !@#$. What an embarrassment. -
An unproven rookie WR or Victor Cruz?

Screw other FA's, we should target Chris Gamble
bobobonators replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Gamble was "brutal" i'd love to know what you think of our CB's. In his worst full seasons (15/16 games) he still averaged more INT's than all of our CB's last season - COMBINED. He retired early - good for him. Bad for the rest of us who have absolute sh*t at the CB position. -
ESPN radio here in NY is saying that the Jets should go after Fitzpatrick if he's cut. Meanwhile, some people here would probably go as far as to say that Garrard is better than Fitz. The irony.

There's really no point on going back and forth with e/o. There are many on here who simply view things completely differently regarding Fitz. The horse has been beaten to death and we should just let it go until the FO makes a decision. -

Perhaps, but the QB is a pretty big apple to replace no matter how "crappy" he may be. -

and during the same third, the defense has never ranked higher than 26th in the NFL in pts given up/game. -

I hear ya, and I understand that's where we fundamentally disagree (with respect to how far he can potentially take us). -

bobobonators replied to NYCBoozers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Fitz is good enough to take us to the super bowl. I do think, however, that he is good enough to take us to the playoffs - which, for a team who hasn't made it in over 10 years, should be our primary goal (IMO). And again, there's nothing that prevents us from keeping Fitz AND drafting a QB. Just b/c I want Fitz on this team doesn't mean I don't want an upgrade. All in due time.. -
Screw other FA's, we should target Chris Gamble
bobobonators replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Free agent CB Chris Gamble is planning to retire. "A number of teams have expressed interest in (him)," Gamble's agent said in a statement. "However, Chris informed me last night that he wants to retire. Even though he still loves football, he told me that he's decided to focus on life after football." It's stunning news for a 30 year old who seemed to have some good football left, but could be an indication the shoulder injury that limited Gamble to four games last season was more serious than previously thought. Perpetually underrated since being the No. 28 pick of the 2004 draft, Gamble will finish his career with 27 interceptions across 123 games if he's indeed hanging up his cleats. It's possible Gamble will reconsider once training camp rolls around.
