I dont understand any of this cut Fitz talk
bobobonators replied to NYCBoozers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is nonsense man. Over last 3 years, Fitz has averaged more total yards, more yards/attempts, more TD's and a higher QBR every single year. Fitz has 5 more INT's over those 3 years but has 15 more TDs over those 3 years. Thanks for bringing up Sanchez though, b/c that's a perfect example of how far a great defense can take a team w/ a crappy QB. At 6-10 with a bottom of the league Defense, we don't need to have a top 3 defense like the jets to make the playoffs, but if this defense was able to make it to the top 20 or top 15, there's no reason to believe that this team can't easily go 9-7 or maybe 10-6 with Fitz and a better coaching staff. -

I don't agree. There's nothing that prevents us from trying to get as many wins as possible this upcoming season while also drafting/developing a QB this year or next. You play to win ever season and let the chips fall where they may. My ideal scenario: Keep Fitz, draft a QB in first 3 rounds. Let Fitz/TJax/rookie compete and let best one win. If rookie doesn't win the job for Week 1, then start either Fitz/Tjax. If we start off say 5-2, keep going with the veteran. We start off 1-5, switch to the rookie if ready. The team has more upside with Fitz than without Fitz - at least for next season. (IMO). -

Yup. Easiest target requiring the least amount of mental effort. -

In 2012: Defense was 26th in pts/game...Offense was 21st In 2011: Defense was 30th in pts/game....Offense was 14th Why not keep fitz, try to improve the defense and aim for 8-8 or 9-7 next season and a possibility at a Wild Card? Is that not an option????? (also, this option does not prevent us from drafting a QB either this year or next). Makes the most sense to me. -

This Week Fitz 's roster Bonus due.
bobobonators replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The same TJ who didn't make it passed 3rd string last season? And outside of maybe Geno Smith, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of this year's rookie QB's to be starting for any team on Week 1. -
Screw other FA's, we should target Chris Gamble
bobobonators replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
their cap. I'm not saying he's Revis, but he's a legit NFL CB. He would instantly be our #1CB ahead of Gilmore (IMO)...at the very least he would be one of the better #2 CB's in the league. -
Panthers released him. He would be a PERFECT compliment to Gilmore. He would instantly solidify our secondary and the CB position which is a major requirement to an effective Pettine defense. Gamble is a very good corner and is still young enough (about to turn 30) to produce at a very high level. I'd prefer him over any other FA defensive player at this point.

Bill Polian talks Geno & Barkley
bobobonators replied to CarolinaBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. The notion is kind of ridiculous. We're going to let weather influence the direction of our franchise? Weather is completely unpredictable and random. How many blizzard games have we had in the past 5 years? At the end of the day what's probably the most important attribute a QB can have in cold, "windy" buffalo games? A strong arm. Geno has that. After that, the whole weather thing is a bunch of hogwash. -

I'd say it's a virtual certainty that Geno will not be there when it's our pick. Barkley probably will be. -
Good work man. Keep doing what makes you happy.

Stevie Johnson doesn't workout in the offseason
bobobonators replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice. Stevie is probably my favorite player on this team all around. But, when you say this you shouldn't act surprised if its scrutinized: "So you know, who knows what happens if I really put in work? "Maybe I can eclipse a thousand and go into twelve hundred, you know, maybe thirteen. Maybe I'll be even more energized to finish out games, and we'll get things done, you know? So I'm going to be working hard from next Sunday to April 1st when we go back." No matter how much he attempts to qualify those statements, it just sounds bad. Because the obvious response to those statements by Bills fans is: "Ya Stevie, maybe you should have "really" put in work and not waited 5 seasons to realize this." -
I just don't get this. If Palmer can make every throw to run a "legit" pro style attack, how has Fitz outperformed him (or at the very least had very similar #'s) the last 2yrs? I'll look at the play on the field as well: Raiders are drafting before the bills.

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya, i'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest. I'm assuming this scenario would play out if neither Geno or Barkley are there at #8. There isn't much separating Nassib from the other 2nd tier QB's in this draft, imo. At the same time, though, I wouldn't be too thrilled about having so many ties to Syracuse on the team at the same time - it's not like they just won a national championship or anything where it would warrant bringing in the QB, HC, and OC from one college team. -
LMFAO. When? And HOW? Please elaborate.

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
bobobonators replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yahoo's Mike Silver reports there's a "growing sense in NFL circles" that the Bills will target Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib with the No. 41 overall pick. "If I'm a team that needs a quarterback and wants the Syracuse kid, I know I've gotta get ahead of Buffalo in the second round," said an AFC executive. Per Silver, it's "hard to conceive" the Bills taking new coach Doug Marrone's college quarterback at No. 8, but that could change if he "starts shooting up draft boards." Nassib's stock is murky, but he won't fall beyond day two. -
lol..i hear ya. but just for arguments sake, it's not about where Fitz was drafted relative to Geno or Barkley...it's more a question of whether Geno/Barkley (or anyone else in this draft) can put up better numbers than 3,600yds, 24td's, 19int's and a 61% comp. percentage in the NFL, b/c that's what Fitz has averaged the last 2 seasons. Jamarcus Russell was a top pick compared to Fitz but J. Russell couldn't cut it at all in the NFL. That being said, i'm a big fan of Geno and would love him at #8 if he falls, which he probably won't.

unfortunately for the Lions, nothing seems to ever work out. Look at them with Stafford and Johnson. They put up great numbers and Stafford has a great arm, blah blah blah..but yet they're picking before we are. lol. Some franchises are just cursed.

ya, same here.

Combine Results. Sortable. Easy.
bobobonators replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BYU DE Ezekiel Ansah did not train for February's Scouting Combine, instead focusing on finishing classes at Brigham Young. Almost every Combine invitee hires a trainer to prepare. Ansah didn't, and he still tore it up. Measuring in at 6-foot-5 and 271 pounds with 35 1/8-inch arms, Ansah posted the sixth fastest forty time (4.63) of 37 defensive linemen who ran, and his 34 1/2-inch vertical tied for seventh. Only Barkevious Mingo had a faster ten-yard split (1.56). Ansah's agent claims his forty-yard dash at the Combine was the first he's ever run in his life. We expect Ansah to be drafted in the single digits. lol..animal. -
The bills ranked 14th in pts/game in 2011 and 21st this season with fitz. Yes, not great, but hardly worthy of constant ridicule considering the other side of the ball has ranked far worse over the same time. The bills have had 1 legitimate NFL-caliber WR the past few years. I know its cool to just piss all over fitzpatrick on this board, but this offense NEEDS more talent at the WR/TE position, regardless if its fitz throwing the ball or a rookie QB.
