no thanks. he'll be good, but an OG in the top 10? you can get plenty of starting-caliber Guards and Centers in the second, third, and even fourth rounds.

exactly. there's no formula. Tom Brady Positives: Good height to see the field. Very poised and composed. Smart and alert. Can read coverages. Good accuracy and touch. Produces in big spots and in big games. Has some Brian Griese in him and is a gamer. Generally plays within himself. Team leader. Negatives: Poor build. Very skinny and narrow. Ended the '99 season weighing 195 pounds and still looks like a rail at 211. Looks a little frail and lacks great physical stature and strength. Can get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own. Summary: Is not what you're looking for in terms of physical stature, strength, arm strength and mobility, but he has the intangibles and production and showed great Griese-like improvement as a senior. Could make it in the right system but will not be for everyone.

LOL..come on people. you guys act like we went 0-16 last season. New HC, new DC, squeaking 3 more wins next season isn't an absurd notion considering we lost at least 2-3 games this past season in the last couple of minutes. We lost 4 games in 2012 by 7 points or less. 9-7 and wildcard playoff birth in 2013! WOOT!

I really don't see it as badly as some. Safety needs to be addressed and LB needs to be addressed - those are the most pressing IMO. CB is optional though desirable (we have high draft picks that are still a bit unproven - williams/mckelvin). We have a lot of cap room and its not beyond the realm of possibility to address many of these needs this offseason. Franchise Byrd, Sign a safety and LB in FA. Draft QB, WR, LB first 3 rds and most holes/needs are addressed for the time being at least. Question is, can we retain levitre too...

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on NFL 32 Wednesday that the Raiders have interest in West Virginia QB Geno Smith with the No. 3 overall pick in the draft. "Word around the NFL is the Raiders have interest in Geno Smith with that third overall pick in the draft," said Mort. "Now I can't get this confirmed by the team, but Geno Smith is a guy that everybody sees as a top-10 pick right now -- not everybody -- but he's got a chance to go in the top ten. And if the Raiders do like him, you better take him at No. 3." Mortensen indicated that Oakland would likely release Carson Palmer if Smith were drafted.

Chris Kelsay Announces retirement

5.175m according to rotoworld.com -
lmao...geeze man, what do you propose then? i'd be fine with sticking with Fitz and improving the rest of the team, but about 80% of fans are fed up with him. even if we take a QB in the 2nd round though..you bet your butt we'll probably spend at least 2-3 years trying to figure out whether he's the guy. Eventually you have to pull the trigger on one of these young QBs and stop looking back at Losman - that was a decade ago.
-
well, it'll be one less team who'll take a QB in the 2nd round if we wait that long...i think it's good, not the best..but good.
-
LOL!...
-
that would be lovely. then WR Rogers in the 2nd. lol..seriously.

According to FOX's Jay Glazer, the 49ers and Chiefs have completed a trade for Alex Smith. Source: Jay Glazer on Twitter Feb 27 - 11:57 AM Yes, now we even have a better chance to get Geno! reports are that they gave a 4th round pick for him.

Should we trade for Ryan Mallett?

Not only do you insult the guy, but then you're factually wrong. -
Should we trade for Ryan Mallett?
bobobonators replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much exactly how I feel. There's no pressure on them to trade him, so the fact that they do want to trade him is a red flag -

We still have way too many holes
bobobonators replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know why people on here are going nuts or act surprised about holes on the roster or cuts. This franchise has been stuck at below .500 for roughly a decade. Of course we need a lot of help - our roster is subpar much like our w/l record. Players like nelson, barnett, wilson, etc are not the solution. Other than maybe 3-5 players on this roster, no one should really be safe. We're rebuilding w a completely different coaching regime. This requires an overhaul of the current roster in order to meet this coaching staff's needs. All of our needs won't be filled in one off-season. Whoever walks in FA, good for them, but there are very few players on this sad roster that deserve to receive premium money - especially a guard on an offensive line that would ALWAYS get dominated on 3rd and 4th and shorts. -

Don't forget about good coaching. Better coaching last season probably gives easily 2-3 more wins. -
DeMarcus "Dee" Milliner - CB - Alabama
bobobonators replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure what the deal is going to be with A. Williams as to whether he gets moved to safety, etc..but I wouldn't completely give up on him either. he showed brief flashes before going down his rookie season. Williams is pretty damn young and I'd like to see him a full season in a legit defensive scheme. -

I actually think he's a tad overrated personally. Patrick Peterson to me was worlds better at this point in their careers. In the 5 games or so I watched him play, he at times seemed to lack ball awareness when the ball was up in the air and seemed a bit out of position at times. He'd make up for it with his physical talent, but at the next level it'll be harder to make up for any mistake no matter how small it is. That being said, he's obviously the best CB in this draft in terms of potential. He's definitely not one of the best CB's I've seen come out though - he's way too raw to have that distinction. -

Cordarrelle Patterson - WR - Tennessee
bobobonators replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not be happy with Patterson at #8. Not that I don't think we need a WR, just that there are other WR's in this draft that are going to produce more in the NFL and will be taken after Patterson. -
Obviously they are.
