Unfortunately plans in the NFL tend to not work out very well: drafts are completely unpredictable, injuries can be often career ending/changing and FA signings are gone by the time ur draft picks develop. They have a plan, thats fine. So do we: Maintain our top 10 offense, improve our defense (which may likely have been done just by firing Rex and hiring MCD), and get more disciplined (again MCD can do that) But you cant see that bc youre too worried about how awesome the Browns are.

First of all im not going to play what if with Watkins. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Second of all, we spent a first on Gilmore and got half a decade out of him. Move on. Maybe watkins should focus on actually being on the field.

You never heard of Gilmore island? We're comparing Gilmore to maybe the second best CB in the history of the NFL. Sounds about right considering we're constantly comparing every QB to Brady.

Again, im not saying Gilmore is a bad player. Hes a good player. We got half a decade out of him with very little success. We got his best years. Is Gimore as good as Patrick Peterson or Richard Sherman? No. But the pats are paying him as if he is. Bc they have Brady and can afford to cut corners throughout the roster. We cant.

Agree on the 2 automatic losses. But Gilmore isnt really head and shoulders better than what they already had at CB. Them getting Brandon Marshall or an elite pass rusher wouldve scared me more.

We were trying to make the playoffs last year and Gilmore's defense averaged giving up 33 points a game in 5 games vs the Jets, Dolphins, and Pats. 33 points per game against. Let that sink in, and then move on.

Hes a good CB. But many people around the league feel hes not great. Hes about to be paid top 2-3 CB $ by a team with the geeatest QB in the history of the NFL and the greatest HC in the history of the NFL. That team can afford to carry a roster that would probably go 4-12 without said HC and QB and thus they can afford to make a big splash and overpay a good CB by paying him as if he was patrick peterson. Hes not patrick peterson. We're better for it. Move on.
