  1. This is pretty much where I am. Actual genuine NFL-level pass-rushers don't get passed off from team to team like that.
  2. Found this recent article by Sal Maiorana that seems up-to-date as of last evening's moves: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2021/03/15/buffalo-bills-free-agent-tracker/4700265001/ However, Sal Capaccio's Roster Tracker has wiped the FA and RFA off the roster including unrestricted FA (naming a few in which I think the Bills have interest): Matt Barkley Isaiah McKenzie Dean Marlowe Taiwan Jones restricted FA: Ike Boettger Levi Wallace (report that Bills have made an offer but won't tender him) Has anyone heard any updates on any of these guys? In addition to extending an offer to Wallace, I would have thought the Bills would try to re-sign Marlow, Boettger, and McKenzie. Darron Lee said in an interview just after the season that he had an offer in hand from the Bills (but had obviously, not signed it) - no word on when that offer expires, any idea what would be usual?
  3. Serious question: what do you see in Clowney that says we should pay for him?
  4. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive topic titles. A better title will help the community find information faster and make your topic more likely to be read. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  5. I'm not gonna harp on this but Janine wrote a piece a while back describing some behavior in a restaurant when he was off medication for the purpose of diagnosis, and from what was described, it sounded as though it was edging pretty close to that latter. That he didn't tweet anymore because he struggled to put words together, struggled to understand why he could or couldn't do certain things, just a bunch of routine daily stuff that were becoming too hard for him. His younger daughter also wrote about it a couple times - that her dad could still fix anything, fix her car, but he kept going inside and up 3 flights to her apartment for tools because he didn't think of the obvious solution of carrying the small toolbox down to the car. You can look it up if you want. The point isn't that bad social behavior should be tolerated, it's that someone who has mental problems that lead (as one symptom) to inability to understand/accept social rules therefore acting out in public isn't able to stop doing that out of some gratitude for prior financial assistance.
  6. If you're observed acting outside the social norm/rules and you have a history of doing stuff like that due to mental illness, the probability is that your behavior is linked to your illness and not by your personal dedication to socially disruptive law-breaking forms of social protest. The rule for getting on a plane is "you must wear a mask" and it's a condition of carriage to follow the rules. Therefore, if you buy a ticket and get on the plane, you expect to be told to wear a mask. I think Chevy's point is that in Talley's case, there are documented instances where Talley was not willing/able to follow social rules or resolve life problems in the usual minimally-disruptive way, and that his family considers these behaviors symptomatic of CTE-related issues they've worked to obtain treatment for. The treatment will inevitably involve some things they can't control, such as willingness to take meds all the time. This is not new, it's been discussed on this newsgroup for years since Tim Graham wrote an article that broke the story, and Janine (Talley's wife) has vented by writing articles describing some of the stuff that happened when they were seeking diagnosis or disability certification. See above
  7. To the former: I'm not trying to defend journalists as "lilly white" but once something is out on social media, it does get news coverage. To the latter: It can be, but people file lawsuits all the time over misconduct where either criminal investigation was not sought, or criminal investigation took place but for one or another reason criminal charges not filed. The standard of proof is different and it removes the filter of whether or not the prosecutor can maintain his/her "win record" with the case. Oh, c'mon Bill. Put the safety back on the sarcasm projector. We all know that the timing of a lawsuit filing and the timing of any action on which the lawsuit is based aren't correlated. Joke.
  8. Stuff like this puzzles the ***** out of me. We don't know a thing right now beyond that the lawyer put out a "flex" instagram that had more details about him than about the lawsuit allegedly filed, that someone tweeted out the complaint involved a masseur or massage therapist, and that Watson denies it and says he was contacted with a settlement demand prior to the suit being filed, he hasn't seen it yet, and he's done nothing wrong. Oh, and the lawyer is apparently a neighbor of the McNairs (which could mean he's at outs with 'em). Yet here comes someone who "Definitely" knows what it's about.
  9. First of all we don't know it's Talley Talley's wife Janine has also posted about mental changes including irrational, aggressive behavior that is linked to his (believed) CTE dementia, especially if for one or another reason he's "off his meds" The fans came to his aid because the man was mentally hampered and had made bad decisions Being mentally hampered doesn't only show up in sweet, nicely packaged for feel-good consumption ways. Sorry it doesn't give you the feels. It's going to be rough on his family. Edit: I don't mean just this video, but that in general, we don't have good ways to deal with mental problems any more than with addiction.
  10. Brown is under-appreciated as a route runner. He can run beautiful routes. He did occasionally and for whatever reason take one off (I can think of a handful at key moments - Ravens last year, Browns last year, etc) By the AFCCG, he was back to his typical # snaps over the year I think you mean the smaller number is earned if he's on the roster and possibly guaranteed?
  11. To be fair to him it may have been a medical directive from the Bills and it may have had to do with the stage he was at in his injury recovery.
  12. Both Chiefs games Ravens last year (he "went off" this year because they directed lots of attention to Diggs and to Beasley) Browns last year The whole offense struggling because Beasley, McKenzie, and surprisingly Knox also struggle with this
  13. Link works now. Great find, goes into some of the nuances of route running that Brown gave us and Davis just doesn't (yet). But he obviously picked up a TON during the season, so hopefully he'll take a step!
  14. Well, I'm not a Legal Eagle but my understanding is that private attorneys don't file criminal complaints. Criminal charges have to be filed by a prosecuting attorney, based on evidence collected by officers of the law. It's not that uncommon for a criminal complaint to go unfiled for a whole bunch of reasons that may have nothing to do with the crime or the evidence - or for a criminal case to be dismissed or the accused found not guilty - but for a civil suit to follow and to be won. The standard of proof is different, for one thing. Agree. He's not facing criminal charges
  15. Well, Well, Well. Nice to know that lawyer is just a random servant of justice representing the Little Guy (or gal) Watson said he rejected a "baseless 6 figure settlement demand" made "before filing suit"
  16. 33. And he could still run. Put up 1000+ yd season at 35 (with Reed and Thomas)
  17. Barkley was drafted by the Eagles in 2013 (same year as Ertz) and on the team 2013-2014 I imagine being rookies together as well as teammates might create a bond
  18. Man, I hope they don't give it too many minutes, because that poor little guy is just killin' himself in the workouts when he's not "selling his meat" 48 inch box jumps, all kinds of lifting, slow down Lil Dirty 'fore you break something
  19. I hate to be a Grammer Nazi, but Punctuation is a Useful Thing. It can make any actual point you might have, clearer and therefore more persuasive. Fuller had one of the top young QB in the league throwing to him Sanders had Broken Drew Brees and Taysom Hill throwing to him. If you anyone interested in actual performance cares to watch, Sanders was making a lot of tough catches...going low, jumping. There's not a lot of YAC to be had there vs. a guy whose role is to get deep, get open, and catch the ball. I personally don't think you'd know a rational person from a "Beane homer" if they stood you up, turned you around, and multiplied you by "i", but you can prove me to be mistaken: What was Sanders actual YPC last year and in 2019, and how do they actually compare with Fuller or whoever else you're on fire about? He won't be wearing 17, that's sure
  20. His blurb got big "Love Me some Me" vibes doesn't it? I was gonna say I'll wait for some facts, but that's inappropriate...I'll wait for some information about what the allegations actually are. There's either a civil suit and the information is in there or there isn't. The Timing though
  21. This is the lawyer and he alleges that a lawsuit was filed today. https://www.txattorneys.com/tony-buzbee/
