  1. I actually don’t care about the numbers. I want to see faster decision making and knowing when to give up on the play. Every deficiency stems from those two things.
  2. Yes, there are other examples. Pick one of them to avoid looking silly for knocking a WB not throwing for 300 yards in a hurricane. He wasn’t good. But that argument was atrocious. Yes, that’s sort of the point. Going to the worst possible example is a brutal method of arguing. As to the Redskins game, it’s kind of the exact opposite of the Eagles game; Allen only had to throw the ball 20 times, and was quite efficient doing so. Jones, on the other hand, had to throw 42 times because their D allowed 35 points to Dwayne Haskins and Case Keenum. So I should mark you down as someone that believes a 300 yard passing day is a reasonable expectation with 50 MPH winds? Got it. Just so you know, that’s stupid. Also, I agreed with you that there were other examples. That’s why the Philly game was such a ridiculous example. This isn’t a complicated issue.
  3. Interesting to note that the example you offered of Allen’s lack of passing is from a game that was played in 50 MPH wind gusts when the opposing QB threw for 172 yards For the record, the Bills produced 53 yards of offense that didn’t come from Josh Allen. The Eagles had two RBs that each produced more than that on the ground. Sometimes context matters.
  4. Crap with Carr? Patently false. He had 1,070 and 1,153 yards in seasons 1 and 2, respectively.
  5. DJ said the same, though I think a lot of it is folks reading the tea leaves based upon their Burrow infatuation and Herbert being closer to Burrow than Tua.
  6. I have reason to believe that Bryce Hall will be of particular interest to the Bills
  7. You “have no reason to believe” that? That’s confusing phrasing if nothing else. As a guy that watches every game every week, my opinion is that there are bad color commentators—the guys that tend to drone on and don’t really tell you anything you didn’t already know. There are plenty of decent ones that can draw up what happened on a given play. Then there are 2 or 3 that are outstanding; they not only can show what happened, but also give a ton of insight as to why (for example) a blocking scheme targeted a specific player and why a properly-read key by another defender freed up the target to make a play. Collinsworth is one of those (the other 2 are Romo and Charles Davis IMO).
  8. You see nothing outstanding about a guy that watches a play one time, at full NFL speed, and then 10 seconds later is able to clearly and concisely articulate what the play was designed to do, how the defense was designed to stop it, and why the play did or didn’t work? Huh. Okay then.
  9. I don’t even have a problem with him knowing at halftime. If your heart isn’t in it then you’re hurting the team. BUT, you don’t walk out of the stadium with no explanation. Tell your coach and teammates that you don’t feel right and that you’re costing the team by playing at less than 100%. I doubt anyone would’ve had an issue.
  10. If your computer fails then use one of the other 17 bajillion ways we have to communicate to send in your pick. Deals get done via hardline phones during the draft normally. Just call, text, use FB messenger, etc. This is easy stuff guys.
  11. I don’t know that it’s quite that bad, but yeah, it’s one of his weak spots Do they actually want him replaced? Huh.
  12. Whoa. I just mentioned how brutal he is this very morning.
  13. Good observation. I do think that part of the answer is reps, reps, and more reps. The other part of it will come when both players are more comfortable reading their keys.
  14. Based on what? Have you heard him call a game? Can you think of any former QBs that have been lousy in TV? CC’s job isn’t to elucidate in a pleasing baritone; it’s to communicate complicated football concepts in ways most viewers will understand, and he’s excellent at it.
  15. He’s part owner, and the ability to promote it is part of his contract with NBC
  16. I have to laugh at Collinsworth getting so much hate and Brees getting so much love. Sure, CC gets stuck on one or two talking points and promotes PFF way too often, but he’s outstanding as a color guy. We have no idea how well Brees will communicate concepts to the average viewer. I also have a unique brand of dislike for him after the 2011 CBA negotiations when he donned his puppy dog face and claimed “all we want is to play football”. Oh yeah? Well if that’s all you want then take whatever offer the owners are presenting because you get paid millions to play a game and shut up. Either that, or be honest and say what you really want: a deal that maximizes revenue and provided benefits for retired players, etc. Man that pissed me off. But anyway, back on topic: not every ex player is Tony Romo. Maybe Brees will be stupendous and I’ll look forward to listening to him. Maybe he’ll be a train wreck like Dan Fouts.
  17. Just based on performance alone, I’d go: Woods over Diggs Watkins = Brown Harvin over Beasley (assuming both are healthy) Shady over Devin (again, when Shady was in his prime in 15/16 And Clay as a Bill has more receptions every season than our entire TE group in 2019. After that I can see making an argument. But yes, I do like the current group. Just some sanity from the dude that proclaimed how much better Allen’s weapons are than anything in the last 20 years would be nice. So you’re not going to look at the numbers and stick with “bro dude man” analysis? Yes, we’re done
  18. So you’re going to ignore all of the numbers. Do yourself a favor: compare Diggs to Woods. Then do Smoke to Watkins. Then do Harvin to Woods. Then consider that both Hogan and Goodwin were on that team and compare them to McKenzie and Robert Foster. And I mean actually look at the numbers; don’t just go all “bro dude man” analysis. Then compare Clay’s worst season as a Bill to the production of the entire 2019 Bills TE group. Then compare Shady as a Bill to Devin. Or don’t and continue to just make things upz Either way is cool, but only one of them will result in making statements that make sense.
  19. What? I’d LOVE to hear your support for that. I mean, it feels like a stretch of epic proportions to even claim that the current group is in the same conversation. Just look at the numbers. Seriously. The only way someone could make this statement is if the ignore literally all of the statistics and just pretend.
  20. I like Diggs/Smoke/Beasley/Motor, but you’re joking if you say that the current group of skill players is better than Watkins, Woods, Harvin, Hogan, Shady, Clay, and rookie Karlos.
  21. A team that went to the playoffs once in 17 seasons because of a miraculous last-second TD by a team playing for nothing wasn’t moribund in your opinion? No offense, but I think it’s safe for me to disregard your opinion (because that’s what it is, not a fact) on this particular item. By the way, did you actually take a look at the numbers of the 3 guys you mentioned in year 2 as I suggested?
