  1. Not sure...I think if Buffalo decides to stick at 12, there's a fair chance that Miami takes Jackson at 12, or a team like Arizona, Baltimore, LAC or Cincinnati moves in front of them for Lamar.
  2. I wholly expect Allen to be Cleveland's choice at No. 1 overall.
  3. Looks like he'd count $6M against the 2018 cap for any team that traded for him; in 2019, his cap hit would go up to $8.6M, but his dead cap would be a paltry $1.6M
  4. I was hoping we'd deal a pick for him last year
  5. True; IMO that would fall under the "wanting a chance to play" umbrella. Also, I know that NE has a sweet deal with Brady, but I'm not sure that they can offer anything close to starting money.
  6. I doubt that's even possible. As I said yesterday: if the Bills were content to settle for any veteran that could play the placeholder role, then they played this FA period perfectly. McCarron has no suitors left that can offer him a chance to start--except Buffalo. If he wants a shot to play, we're it.
  7. Oh come on joe, you know I don't hate anyone.
  8. Let's see: one of us got emotional about a subject title that included a name that should've been obvious to any casual football fan. One of us simply assumed that it was a FA signing involving a well-known FA. I'll let you decide which of those speaks to logic, and which speaks to raw emotion. That would severely limit joe's post count.
  9. I prefer the term "logical"
  10. FWIW, I knew exactly who he meant immediately. Agreed....very good value. Let the Barkley-related speculation begin
  11. It's the only thing that makes sense now--they're his only chance to start, and he has no leverage, so Buffalo will get him cheap
  12. Maybe they'll try, but given how many picks Buffalo has to offer, any team moving down would be foolish to do so without giving the Bills a chance to beat the price IMO
  13. Bills played this perfectly They are the only remaining suitors that can offer a chance to start for a veteran QB. They have all of the leverage
  14. Post-combine top-5 updated: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000920805/article/mike-mayocks-2018-nfl-draft-position-rankings-20
  15. I would guess that they have a plan. But the fact that we don't know what it is approximately negative 27 hours into free agency doesn't precisely bother me. The plan could be to sign a guy like Taylor Gabriel, or they could still take my suggestion and trade a late-round pick (i.e. Cinci's 6th rounder) for Travis Benjamin. Or they could wait for GB to release Randall Cobb. We'll see.
  16. Guys the same age with no pro bowl appearances in their careers got slightly less than what Kyle got today, so he signed for what the market dictated. That was my point.
  17. The NextGenStats do not support your opinion on Goff and the deep ball. He also throws into tight coverage less than all but 4 other qualifying QBs (out of 41)
  18. No, it does not "usually" mean that. Every year, pro bowl teams are selected...once guys start dropping off, yes, teams get filled with people willing to go. Please don't try to pass off Kyle's pro bowl selections as the "we'll take anyone" type a la Tyrod...you know better than that.
  19. Yes, it's a bargaining chip. I think most GMs can tell the difference, but yes, it's still a bargaining chip
  20. Actually Gug, check out my linked post above; Kyle came in exactly where the market puts him as a 34-year old DT with multiple pro bowls.
  21. Only slightly higher than I guessed:
  22. Yeah, I think that'd be a better fit for him
  23. He played everywhere between 5 and 9-tech at Clemson, plus a decent amount of 2-point, but that's not really what I was getting at. Pittsburgh tends to use heftier guys at the 5-tech, and even though I think Shaq sets a heckuva edge as a 9T, I don't think that he's the guy you want playing head-up on a OT in a 2-gapping system.
  24. That's not correct, as I pointed out to you in the other thread. Just take your loss on this one and move on...clearly, NFL teams value Sammy a LOT more than you thought. We all get it wrong sometimes.
