2019 draft Wish List(trade back)
thebandit27 replied to MakeBuffaloGreatAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My word...imagine going from this group of OLmen to trotting out a starting 5 of Dawkins-Osemele-Bodine-Saffold-D. Williams and fielding a WR group of Brown/Foster/Zay/McKenzie. Add a competent TE, another speed WR, a young RB in the draft and you start to have a Rams-of-2017 type offensive makeover on your hands. -
Here's a pre-draft assessment of Allen that sounds pretty spot-on at this point: "I keep watching Allen over and over trying to find the “major accuracy issues” that others say he’s got. I’m sorry, but I don’t see them. I see a guy that needs to refine his touch throws to the boundary and clean up some occasional footwork issues, but mostly I see a guy that tries to make something out of nothing too often. Sometimes that’ll present itself via him trusting his arm too much and throwing into danger, but a lot of gunslinger-type QBs do that. I have him as my QB4, and I’ve given him a top-10 grade; when he’s right, he’s the best QB in the class."

2019 draft Wish List(trade back)

I'm definitely on board with OL in free agency and trading for a WR if you can. I think you make a play for one of Q. Spain or R. Foster at guard and one of Daryl Williams or J. James at OT. Since Jon Gruden is in love with trading good players, see if he'll part with either Osemele or Gabe Jackson for a 3rd. I'd see about over-paying for Golden Tate in FA, but I doubt he'll come here. Maybe you can pry Jackson away from TB, especially if they fire Koetter. The guy I'd make a huge audacious offer for is Antonio Brown, even if they say they won't trade him. Try anyway. Assuming we end up with a top-10 pick, I think the value will be at pass rusher, and that's fine with me. -
Allen's Last Pass (12/2): Bad Pass or Drop?
thebandit27 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even a question. There's no pass-catcher in the NFL that would look at that play and say "I wouldn't have caught that with the game on the line". There are, however, many QBs that would likely say "I have no idea how Allen made that throw"...even if he did run around like a maniac -
Is Vander Eshe to Edmunds the same as Juju to Zay
thebandit27 replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At some point, they're going to need to officially slap the GM title on McClay, or else someone is going to make him an offer he can't refuse. The Joneses have gone too long without acknowledging the real genius behind their draft prowess. As to the OP, LVE looks like a stud. Edmunds has had his ups and downs, but he's definitely a higher ceiling prospect. I'm very anxious to see how he grows into his body. -

Bills Release P Colton Schmidt

I continue to believe that the team fully intended to keep Cory Carter as their punter before he got hurt. -

OL needs to cut down on the penalties; right now that's the reason that we're not winning That sideline throw that went through Croom's hands was unbelievable -

Yeah that's what I figured Next time either keep your idiocy to yourself or have a backbone Back on topic: RIP Mr. McNair

Listen cupcake, my parents raised me up to respect people, and not to go casting aspersions that I was unwilling or unable to support You spouted off, you should have to brass to back it up

How about you support your ill-advised attempt to trample on a man's grave, Gramps?

Ah yes. He misstated a common colloquialism, and so he must be racist.

Making the decision mid-game is fine IMO. I think it would've sat much better with his teammates--and the general public (not that Vontae cares about either)--if he had simply addressed his teammates at halftime and told them that he made a mistake. He couldn't play anymore and knew he was hurting the team. Guys may not have agreed, but at least they would have respected him much more than him simply cleaning out his locker and going home.

Why can't they do both? I think LorAx should be back for sure; he's been solid when called upon at both levels of the defense. Keep him as a 3rd LB and pass rusher, AND upgrade the LB3 spot--those guys can easily be had on day 3 of the draft. With $90M in cap space and 10 draft picks, there's no reason to limit offseason acquisitions to one side of the ball. -
Definitely...this is not the year to force drafting for need. The offensive talent isn't there in the top 10, and I'd like to think that this group of evaluators isn't going to reach for need.

No worries. With the new baby I'm behind on my draft prep, but I'll get a lot of time over the holidays to catch up. For the offseason, the fact that they only have 2-3 key guys to re-sign. I think it's important to bring back LorAx since he can still start at LB and give you snaps as a situational pass rusher. I'd also like to see Jordan Phillips brought back. I'm hugely in favor of spending in FA to bring in at least 3 OLmen minimum of 2 starters and one quality backup. I'd also like to see backup QB and starting CB opposite Tre in FA if possible. My biggest concern is how they're going to get a WR1. I like the WRs in this class, but I'm very wary of relying on a rookie WR to contribute immediately. Maybe they can coax a guy like Golden Tate to come here, but I doubt they'll be an attractive enough FA destination to do that. They might have to either swing a trade or hope that a guy like Tyrell Williams or Devin Funchess has untapped upside. I'd probably list my FAs of interest as follows: Ryan Fitzpatrick Golden Tate Tyrell Williams Mark Glowinski Rodger Saffold Quinton Spain Trent Brown Daryl Williams Ja'Wuan James J'Marcus Webb Ty Nsekhe Chris Clark Steven Nelson Ideally, I'd like to focus on strength in the top 10...either a pass rusher or CB, since that's where the elite prospects are this year.

Figured this deserved its own thread for quick access. If you want to watch game video of 2019 draft prospects, here's a database that keeps many of them in one place: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bu7VCs3ld5efCR3fDjj_vM09KjYbY_SBDkdJHRJPOew/edit#gid=0 Happy scouting.

He's been all over the place this season. The pass rush has been solid when Murphy was on the field, and decent even without him. I think the team still needs to go out and get another premium pass rusher this offseason (along with a CB2), which would really set the stage for them to dominate.
