Cody Ford was bad - again & again he was while at RT

I want your boy Ruggs on this roster right now! -
Wow. Knowing your history, and seeing this post, I am shocked that you're this high on Allen this soon! Any homerism in there, or just straight analysis? Asking because it's so darn difficult to get that far away from a draft grade that I've worked up over months, but I've had to do it before (thinking specifically of Dak), so I'm curious as to how you deal with that?

Bills Snap Count vs the Giants

Looks like Star did make this one play: -

Like I said, right now, his #1 contribution is that he can take a good number of snaps in the rotation. And I know that sounds like a tongue-in-cheek comment, but it's not entirely. Not every DT is built to take the number of snaps that he is without getting injured, so there's at least some value there. -
Mixon is a very good back and can break loose at any time. I know that their D didn't look good yesterday, but they have some solid DL guys and their secondary is very capable. This is hardly a lock.

The Bengals remind me of the Jets in week 1: QB that is capable of playing really well Solid group of WRs Good young RB that can catch passes too Shaky OL This is going to be another tough matchup

Bills Snap Count vs the Giants

Though it sounds simplistic, that's actually quite a fair way to grade if you aren't going to nerd it up with a pen and paper and watch the play over and over and over. Maybe Oliver's development speeds along enough that Star gets enough 1-on-1 matchups against teams' worst interior player and can make some impact that way...I have my doubts though. -

I think it's definitely a combination of those two factors. Shaq simply looks like a better player right now than he's been at any point in his career. -

It's also worth noting that the one consistent value that Star brings to the table is that he can consume snaps up front for a team that loves to rotate interior players. It's nowhere near enough value to consider him worthy of his role (let alone his salary), but at least he keeps Eddie O and the Phillips brothers fresh. -

Well, you know where I stand on that topic. Take the higher-ceiling guy...always. -

Well, to be honest, we had nowhere to go but up. Our boys are twins, and they didn't sleep at night (at all--they slept during the day and screamed all night) until they were 4 months old. Then they'd get up 3-4 times per night until they were a year old. Started sleeping through the night around 16-18 months and haven't looked back since. They're 6 now, and they sleep a solid 10-12 hours per night consecutive. Our daughter is going to be 1 on Halloween, and she still gets up 3-4 times per night most nights. Hoping she follows the same pattern...but man, that first night they sleep through is like God's gift to new parents -

True...it's also an example of what a team with a championship focus sounds like. Nobody is here to win one game, or two games, or to make the playoffs. This team is here to win it all...and while they're probably not going to perform at that level just yet, it's incredibly important to inculcate that mindset into your leaders. -

I actually am fine sticking with a rotation, but for me, Ford would be the guy that's playing every 3 series or so, and it would be something like a series at RG, followed by 2 on the bench, then a series at RT. -

I hope not; doesn't look like a good tackle draft to me. Much better year for WR and EDGE guys IMO...maybe I'll change my mind on that though... -
I actually thought that the McKenzie ball was perfect...McKenzie just stopped and leapt one step sooner than he needed to IMO. If he ran that out, I think he may have scored there, but again, that's probably my favorite thing about Allen yesterday: - Overthrow John Brown for a TD? No problem, put together a long drive and score - The McKenzie play? No problem, put together a long drive and score - Brilliant QB draw play results in an easy 12-yard gain, but gets called back on a questionable holding call? No problem, put together a long drive and score - Offense stalls for a quarter because of a few missed opportunities, and the game becomes a one-score affair? No problem, put together a long drive and score

A few of my favorite things about this game: - That the team rebounded very quickly from an ugly 1st drive on both sides of the ball - That Allen made a "you'll rarely see this" throw to Knox on the first TD drive - Saquon Barkely--best RB in the NFL - That after the called QB draw that gained 12 easy yards was called back on a questionable penalty, Allen and The Bease connected for the team's biggest gain of the day on the next snap - That in the celebration following the McKenzie (who I have decided to nickname "Slick" for no apparent reason) TD, Allen ran into the end zone and--while the rest of the team was congratulating Devin for his first NFL TD (and rightfully so)--he chose to run straight to Knox and go nuts about his block on Peppers that created the escort for Slick - That the DBs took the missed tackles last week personally, and showed a clear improvement - That when the game got close in the 4th quarter, 4th-Quarter-Josh-Allen showed up again...this is becoming a thing that Bills' fans should pay attention to and get excited about. And that play that ended with the throw to John Brown on the final TD drive...just unbelievable.

It was, but to @jrober38's credit, he's walked his pre-draft position back a bit. And also to his credit, he has not gone AWOL in the Allen discussions. He's probably like me: in wait-and-see mode. It's still so darn early in the kid's career, and we have no idea how he'll respond to the next level of preparation that DCs will have to counter his fast-release and better decision-making... ...but I remain quite optimistic. -

Not surprising at all. He's the better RT right now, and it's not that close.
