  1. Nice! Sticking with the winning routine: Fall spiced black coffee French toast Chocolate protein shake Nerf gun war with kids Lots of charcuterie later for the 1pm slate
  2. My boys are absolutely hilarious. Kids are so dang smart. Right now, they're obsessed with Star Wars. Like, obsessed. As a major nerd, this is a parenting win of galactic proportions. My daughter turns 1 on Halloween. She loves doggies and music; I even got her to jam out to Band Maid. Yes, my baby girl likes Japanese metal. Now if I could just get them to sleep past 5:30 on a weekend...
  3. Same. Baby girl decided that 5:20 a.m. was playtime with Daddy, ergo I'm 1-1/2 coffees in ? At least the 6 year olds are awake now to give me a break so I can set my FF lineup.
  4. I don't care if we win the Super Bowl because the rest of the league had to forfeit due to widespread Ebola virus; I'll take it.
  5. He shall henceforth be known as "Anturdio Brownstain"
  6. Yes...Trindon Holliday (sp?) for Denver was traded to Houston a few years back and did so IIRC
  7. Thanks. I did find the answer eventually, but it took more Googling than I expected... https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/09/jalen-ramsey-trade-cant-play-twice-in-week-3
  8. Here's a question: if Ramsey were to be traded today, could he play for his new team on Sunday after playing last night?
  9. Indeed. The only part that still needs to come together in the passing attack is deep throw timing. I think we may see that happen on Sunday...
  10. Who am I? A fan like most others on here. If my opinions aren't welcome, feel free to let me know so that I'm not wasting my time. Humorous, though seems a bit personal. If my statements are somehow in violation of the TOS, please feel free to let me know and I'll gladly abide. Maybe the TOS have changed lately? Seems like that could be the case based on a few things I've seen--or maybe there's just some selective application. Any of those are fine, I just need to know the rules of engagement. As for how I fancy myself? Just a football fan. If others take my tone personally, they're more than welcome to address that with me directly. I've got nothing to hide. A mea culpa for saying that this game isn't a slam dunk? Sure, if the game ends up a laugher, then I will gladly say that the bravado was justified from the get-go and I was wrong. Won't be the first plate of crow that I've eaten.
  11. Well, I wouldn't call cautious optimism "bravado". And while I don't think you're referring to me with the above generalizations, I do think that there's truth to the idea that we don't know the "quality" of a victory early on in the season. Just look back on 2017, when wins against the Broncos, Falcons, and Raiders looked really impressive early, and turned out to be wins against relatively weak teams once the balance of the season unfolded. For me, the current feeling really comes down to this: it's week 3, so we know basically nothing about anything outside of NE/KC/LAR good, Miami bad, NYG/NYJ/Pit in trouble. Everything else is pending. No BBFS here; just a total refusal to draw any conclusions (or even inferences) about 90% of the league based upon weeks 1 and 2.
  12. Confidence is fine. The "there's no way we lose" type bravado I'm seeing from some fans is misplaced.
  13. There's an awful lot of hubris in this thread for a team that was 6-10 last year and has wins against two of the worst teams in football. Don't get me wrong: I believe this to be a game that Buffalo should win. I don't, however, see it as a foregone conclusion, cake walk, or even anything more than a game in which they should be favored.
  14. No, he hasn't been great, but he's been the RT on 5 of their 6 TD drives...and I think he'd be better if he were in the game more frequently than every 3rd series--as a pass protector, you need to get a feel for the rushers you're facing. But like you said, they've certainly been average thus far, which is a meteoric rise from "abominable"...and I'd consider that a full-scale rebuild in a single offseason. JMO of course.
  15. It's pretty noticeable. I just took a look at the NextGenStats, and though it's quite early in the season for them to have appropriate context, I found the following to be very interesting: - Of all qualifying RBs, Frank Gore has faced 8+ in the box over 56% of the time, more than any other RB besides CJ Anderson (over 68%) - Despite that, Gore has spent an average time of 2.57 seconds behind the LOS, which is the 5th least in the NFL - This is more impressive than you might imagine, considering that Gore's "efficiency number" (which is calculated by total distance traveled divided by rushing yards) is 4.1, which ranks 24th in the league (i.e. he's not much of a pure North-South runner at this stage) What's more, according to Football Outsiders, Buffalo is averaging 5.2 Adjusted Line Yards per rush, which ranks 3rd in the NFL. It's a huge improvement; I happen to believe that, if they want to be in the thick of the AFC competition, they're going to need to go with their best combination of 5...and right now, that doesn't include Ford.
  16. Cinci's LBs may not be the most athletic, but man, they can lay the wood. Both Vigil and Brown hit like trucks.
  17. Pretty simple as far as I understand it: 1) he was a FA at a need position 2) he's a guy that they knew they had the inside track to get 3) he's a fit from a culture perspective I may not agree with that approach, but that's certainly the thinking. To be honest, if Nsekhe were the full-time RT, that's basically what they've done. The OL is fine when he's in there; Ford just happens to be the weakest link right now.
  18. A bit higher? Like 10th? Look, I get that you're here to troll, but a modicum of intellectual honesty wouldn't hurt
  19. As a Pats****** fan, you're undoubtedly too new to understand that we don't subscribe to the "moral victory" theory. You also don't know how to read a stat column if you think Buffalo ranks in the bottom of the league in run D. But ya know, great post otherwise
  20. You haven't seen Newhouse play. Not even close. It's more about Coach Scarr than Brady IMO. He's just very effective at using players' strengths to suit their offense, and he teaches hand placement and angles better than any other OL coach
  21. Will they trade a 1st for Trent Williams?
  22. A first round pick...for Minkah Fitzpatrick??? Is this real life?
