Agree on JK, if in fact those reported terms are accurate. You would think if he had 100% the best interest of the franchise at heart he would just back/endorse Pegula and it would be ballgame. Pegula knows better than to give JK any type of managerial role, especially a lifetime one. He would however provide a permanent job for him being an ambassador for the team. If JK is involved in a bid that will provide him with permanent say in football decisions, I really dont want that bid to win with Pegula still out there.

Florio says Marrone will be fired after this season
May Day 10 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's very possible this team finishes last again for the 7th straight season. This is a team that put a lot of chips on the table for immediate success in the watkins deal. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to see a lot of pink slips with a new owner. They win. Everyone's happy -
assuming JBJ hasnt given up his desire as being the majority/controlling owner, it isnt a threat at all.

Who should stay on with new ownership?
May Day 10 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is where my mind keeps going back to. I dont know who would want to spend that much money, come in with high hopes and a renewed fanbase, and stick with the status quo unless there are signs of improvement this season (no changes are really possible or constructive until the last 1/4 of the season or after). Getting rid of Brandon doesnt cast the Bills into some financial chasm, neither does the dismissal of Overdorf, Littman, or Mary Owen. There are plenty of apt business people that will be plenty adequate and possibly someone who the new owner is comfortable with and/or is familiar with the how he/she wants to do business (face it, the Sabres and Bills are/have both run in different modes). Its also the NFL. Its very hard not to succeed, especially with a good/loyal fanbase. Likewise, if circumstances see Whaley/Marrone go, it doesnt automatically hit a complete reset button (Im talking about another last place finish anyways with no #1 pick). I do think we have a decent core of athletes that a new football department would like/choose to retain. And then you also think of the way it went with the Pegulas when they were loyal and retained Ruff and Regier. -
Kelly has spoken to JBJ about joining forces
May Day 10 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we are stuck with the kellys with final say In all football decisions, just move to toronto. Endorse pegula. Close the deal. And be set up with acknowledgement and jobs for life. Pegula gave andrew peters a job for God's sake -
It sounds like it's going to cost someone money to have kelly around. Kind of a shame as he can just throw his support/endorsement behind pegula and further nail the coffin.
-
Omg. The kellys' terms. No wonder they are still outside looking in. And the article states bon jovi and his toronto pals
-
The timing of Mr Wilson's passing in relation to the lease as well as the emergence of pegula in 2011 as well as his interest in owning a team. And if nothing else, the intent is/was there which is hackish for an "everyman" "American" "rock" "artist".
-
I think it's unique and I am proud of it. If circumstances were just a little different, bon jovi would be buying the bills, manipulating our politicians, lying to us, and stealing the bills forever.
-
It would be 7 straight seasons of that. Always reasons and excuses. If EJ stinks and/or gets hurt, its on management for putting all eggs in his basket and leaving an UDFA and a practice squad QB as the backups. Toronto games. Squabbling with Byrd. Poor coaching, you name it. Trading Stevie in favor of a powder keg of personal issues (Williams). Punting on getting a legit TE. Not finding any replacement for Levitre. Its not rocket science to be competitive in the NFL. Im done with reasons and excuses and ready for this organization to look like one, instead of rooting to be "in the hunt" as long as possible, then get bitched at about how we dont want to show up for meaningless December games. Whenever we have had enough of it, my perception is everyone takes one step to the left and its branded as change. edit: I dont mean to be a negative nancy. Im hopeful for this season and like a lot of the athletes we do have. I do fear the complete devotion to EJ and protecting him from any competition may waste all this talent though. With new ownership, I dont think we can/should accept failure and make excuses any more.
-
I wouldn't hate it that much, if that weavel didn't act so shocked at how anyone could possibly think that bon jovi would move the team. We aren't as dumb as those people in new jersey and philadelphia, jaws. There was a fair way to address that without exaggeration and lying, and he chose the path that rubbed me the wrong way.

5% return ... no wonder the number of bidders is small
May Day 10 replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
many forget about appreciation -
it keeps it out there publicly. Adds to the pressure on the Trust/NFL to 'not even think about it' and also reminds the Toronto group of the amount of doubt and backlash out there if they are the successful bidder.
-
Kelly isnt going to go away or be banned from the organization if he is involved with an unsuccessful bidder.
-
Im sure there may/will be buzz by then. Home opener IMO will be all about a tribute to Wilson and opening day. Maybe a Kelly appearance. Pats game October 12th will be official and the Pegula party. Maybe a Kelly appearance.

Graham likes to pee in the fire (as does most of TBN sports staff). Him putting forth positive statements like that make me feel safe

to drive up the price.
