According to the Book of Solomon, it's all about getting to the second level; to add some enjoyment to tomorrow's viewing, I will be keeping a tally of how many times he utters this phrase. It's not nearly as bad, though, as Joe Namath's infamous gaffe: "Marv, that play was designed to gain yardage."

SBNation is a great site for sports news, comedy, and satire - nothing is off limits. If you think the Ole Miss/'Bama "trickeration" was funny, check this one out; I almost busted my gut laughing. Complete with numerous typos and grammatical snafus - total satire http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/9/17/9341799/donald-trump-is-bigger-than-the-gop -

good write up but they're not "Buffalo Wings".....oh, you're in Seattle? That might explain it. I thought the yokels here in ATL had the market cornered on that one.

Do you feel different about the Colts win?

no sense in revisionist history, a W is a W is a W. -
to the bolded, that's another example of what I was trying to convey; Our DL won no battles up front in the 1st half, yet Rex did NOTHING to adjust & address it in the 2nd half.

OK, TBD crew - hear me out. Like nearly all of us here, I have watched the Bills since a wee tyke. Over the past several years I've taken a much more objective, analytical approach to dissecting the games, using the DVR to its fullest, taking copious notes in-game, leveraging great tools like the All-22. This approach has allowed me the opportunity to dissect the game as its happening, on many occasions like most of you, I find myself yelling at the TV to inform the Bills what they should be doing differently. This past weekend was no exception. As many of you have pointed out, we collectively have been left scratching our heads why the Bills did not use press coverage at the LOS in the absence of any blitzing, and obviously made no 2nd half adjustments to speak of. My point is this: there are a ton of passionate, informed, well-versed fans here who have solid football IQ's. We seem to come away both in-game & post-game with identical assessments week to week as far as adjustments which should have been made. I made this observation last year but in a much more cursory fashion; I thought it might have been the result of lightweight coaches previously hired by RWS (Marrone, Skeletor, Chan, Mularkey, et al.) But now we have this heavy weight of a coach who apparently is a great cultural fit. My main question & POV is this: WHY DOES IT SEEM NO BILLS HC DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WATCHING THE SAME GAME AS WE, THE CASUAL FANS?? I mean, sometimes it does not appear to be rocket science; yesterday the Bills D played the Pats EXACTLY the same way as we have in the past, ad nauseum. No blitzing, rush 3 or 4, soft off the LOS - no attempt to chuck within 5 yrs. or re-route any Pats WR/TE. We've seen this movie before A TON, and it has obviously not ended well. Did Rex think he'd get cute and outsmart the Pats with his deep intellect. Was he watching the same game we all were? Why did he think making no halftime adjustment would work? Is this the critical skill which separates Belichick from his other coaching brethren? In summary, are we that smart as analytical fans, or am I delusional? Are the Bills head coaches we've had so substandard that it's asking too much to demand in-game adjustments? Or are they so smart that they are behaving counterintuitively, leading to bouts of reverse psychology? I don't get it. I just don't. Please let me know your thoughts. I was expecting better from Rex and did not see it yesterday. Thanks all for understanding......and GO BILLS !

sorry, I have to disagree. It only got anywhere to 8 points b/c the Pats had the hubris to keep throwing the ball when they could have just handed the ball off and ran the clock. Props to the Bills for not mailing it in, but a poll on wgr550.com this morning showed 82% of respondents felt the game was as close as the final score would indicate.

I agree that individually those things were not inflammatory but it was not the content that came back to bite us, it was the volume. This past week was a sh**show and Rex was the carnival barker. He allowed this game to be way bigger than it should have been. The Bills players were way too amped up & out of control. Yesterday's game seemed too big for them. It was the 2nd freaking game of the regular season, not a playoff game. I don't believe necessarily that we "deserved" to lose for talking too much smack; that is Rome's MO, to create a storyline. We were outplayed and outcoached in all phases of the game. The next chess move is Rex's - let's see what he does with it.

OP, thanks for the comment and classy post. Some misguided "fans" think you might be pandering but I do not. The Bills were roundly beaten in all phases and outcoached. RR allowed this 2nd game of the year to spiral out of control with all the pre-game hype and did not adjust adequately, as is the M.O. of Belli. Brady is on another level and the mismatches were there to be had. I do wish, however, that Edelman gets taken down a notch. Dude performs but he needs to drop all the antics. Let's see how the Bills respond to a beatdown - the best thing Rex can do is make this game a "teachable moment". Lots of film review this week and opportunities for improvement. 5 posts? why don't you quit while you're ahead. Go to a dictionary and try to understand the meaning of the word "objective".

seems to me that the Pats recipe for dominance has one common denominator: Belli's ability to adjust in-game and make the necessary changes. I could not believe how fast this happened after the Bills opening drive TD, which seemed to be done with surgical precision. Everything was working; I was thinking to myself, "this is too easy". Then the Pats made their adjustments and the Bills decided to lose their minds led by AW. So after a 1st half of not blitzing and trusting the Bills 4 man rush to make it happen, do you think it would have made sense to blitz from all angles? It seemed to me that this was a Bills defensive game plan redux, which relied on soft coverage, playing off the line, & allowing the short passes underneath. Was it not apparent to Rex & Dennis this was not working? Why did we not mix things up and make the necessary halftime adjustments? Or is Rex not a good game-day coach? Other observations: we all agreed upon learning TT would be the starter that he would be a work in progress. Today was no different; a mixed bag. The onus is on GRo to put TT in positions to succeed and maximize his talents/instincts. while it's true Rex seems to be a good fit with our cultural ethos, it was nowhere more evident that today's complete lack of discipline & self-control: a team truly as a reflection of its HC. After the game. Rex took ownership of the loss and put it squarely on his shoulders; this will mean nothing to me unless I see a demonstrable reduction in penalties, esp. the stupid, avoidable ones Rex's predilection for disguising everything left some horrendous resulting mismatches. This might work vs. less potent offenses but obviously Brady is a master at identifying these. News flash Rex: it might be better to let our D talent perform in its natural state as opposed to your version of trickeration; I have never seen 3 penalties called on 1 team on a ST play, and I hope I never see it again. It was embarrassing and looked very Pop Warner-like. Leave it to the hubris of the Pats to keep throwing while up 37-13, which almost came back to bite them There is an obvious opportunity for a Bills vet to assume more of a leadership role in the absence of FedEX. That leadership could have come in handy today as the Bills were self-imploding Another missed PAT by Carp; will he be put on notice again by Rex and/or have to fight for his job?

I respectfully disagree. It's all about lateral movement and creating passing lanes, as others around the NFL have said. Last time I checked, R Wilson was shorter than TT, and he does it just fine. I hope GRo will get more creative w/ TT to get him moving out of the pocket, throwing w/ designed rollouts, thus taking advantage of his athleticism. As we saw today, he's not a traditional drop back, stay in the pocket QB
