  1. I think that's a possibility. The games which our has done poorly has been against some of the best offenses in the NFL. It sure isn't our strong point, but the D I saw today was very, very good.
  2. And we come back to Earth on Maybin. Still Ryan did decent with a sub-par player so credit where credit is due, but we aren't missing him.
  3. I don't know about bragging about it, but Chan was clearly the better coach today. Both teams were banged up, and meeting in a neutral place. It wasn't even close. Chan's playcalling, management, and preparation were all superior.
  4. Yeah...I think I heard a giant "DO'H" when the ball collided with his head.
  5. Man that writing was awful...not just on the content, but with the quality of writing. All the stuff they talked about, we did perfectly this eat. Eat some crow
  6. Agreed. A few of my impressions: Chandler came back with a vengeance! He's been quiet lately, and it was nice to see Fitz find him again. I like Spiller as a WR. It makes sure that we get used to him and on that big Pass Interference call he had the corner beat. With Jackson churning away, any way we can use him is a good thing and we may have found his niche. Our D. Seriously. WTF. Where have these guys been for the last five games? That was magnificent! Did anyone else's heart drop when Fitz held his ribs at the end of the second half? He looked pretty good after that though, so I hope whatever problem it was is minor.
  7. Wow. Way to enjoy our shutout victory.
  8. Agreed. The man did quite well. He got consistent pressure, which led to 2.5 sacks. He kept getting into Becks face all game. He may do better as a NT if Kyle Williams is going to be out for a while.
  9. Nice to see. We utterly dominated them on both sides of the ball.
  10. Well played sir. But my, it was nice to see us lay a beating down on a quarterback.
  11. Where was the pass rush? I think that it was driving Beck into the ground repeatedly.
  12. Yes, Washington has hit a slide. But man, it was good to see us not bleed points for the first time in six weeks.
  13. Just checked out the last time we had a shutout. Almost FIVE YEARS. I BILL-eve baby!
  14. All of those things...and most importantly that we WON!!!
  15. Seriously, who are these guys and what have they done with our defense? ... I take that back, I don't want to know. Yes, the 'Skins aren't exactly a model of a steady O-line, but it was nice to see us get some sacks.
  16. Well, I was hoping that Miami would pull one out so that they're not so desperate when they face us...but hey. Sparano may very well be on his way to Madam Guillotine
  17. I've been watching Chargers/Jets, mostly because we have to play them both. Both look pretty good. The sputtering Jets for the past few weeks seem to be gone and have been replaced with the Jets we expected. Moss leaving makes me feel a bit better. If they lose their best WR's before we play them...well, I'm not going to complain.
  18. Agreed. If, god forbid, something happens to Fred I would feel comfortable with CJ taking the starting job. I just hope that the duo can find a balance where they both work well together.
  19. Link: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/jerry-sullivan/article595538.ece Now, I haven't been one to credit Sully with an overabundance of insight. But he does mention something that Chan has done that really is the most important part of turning this team around: our chemistry. Raise your hand here if you thought the Bills were overloaded with talent this year? I wouldn't have. I would stress that the reason why we're doing well is that we AREN'T. No Prima Donnas. No one demanding the ball. What we have is a journeyman QB/WR/RB trio (Fitz, Stevie and Freddy) and a shaky offensive line which has an offensive system tailored specifically to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. I kept thinking last week that the Bills were the polar opposite of the Eagles. The Eagles were expected to succeed (and are still favored this week over the Redskins) because they had brought in so much star power. The Bills came in with young players who were late picks, who weren't expected to have the talent to excel in the NFL and a bunch of free agents who were considered too old and injured to be effective. The Bills walked away the winners while the Eagles slumped to 1-4. I'm not promising anything. I'm not saying we'll make the playoffs (though a 5-1 start would sure help ) but what I can say is this is the most entertaining Bills team to watch in years. The last time I felt this way was back in 2008, another time when we went 4-1 to start...but this time, we've done it against heavy hitters.
  20. Freddy doesn't, but I do think that Spiller could use some work. At the very least, Chan can start with a two back set and then run to the spread by putting Spiller in motion as a slot receiver. We're down at WR, so I don't see any reasons why Spiller can't excel at slants, screen and shovels.
  21. To be honest...we really are pessimistic enough to expect immanent breakdown. It's been a decade of losing. That doesn't make me any less thrilled, but having that skepticism has made this season SO SWEET.
  22. You know, while watching the game I remember saying "we can't get a turnover every time". Then, George Wilson picked it off. And when I started praying for an interception in the last two minutes, we got one. Is it sustainable? Probably not. But we're got going to play the best offenses in the NFL every week.
  23. I remember the announcers saying something like "there must be three people with number 31, because he is everywhere."
  24. It's FOX. In a game with a small market team vs. a large market team. What did you expect?
  25. I look and see some excellent defensive talent. Giving up 400+ yards a game...we can't keep doing that constantly.
