  1. Hmm. Forgive my curiosity, but how do you see things shaking out with Cockrell. We've mostly been bullish on him, but I remember when we were with Brooks. I know he needs some work, and I know that he has quite a deep group ahead of him with Gilmore, McKelvin and Graham.
  2. I liked the pick a great deal. I do think it's fortunate that he has two very good corners ahead of him as he develops (4th round pick after all) but he has the size that Ron Brooks lacks, and I can possibly see him moving to FS if need be. All in all, I am very happy with the pick right now.
  3. Being one who has taken the title "Professional Kool-Aid Drinker" I resemble that remark!
  4. I would also like to remind you of the Bills 6th round pick this year, Mike Williams. But yeah, Sammy has been making it look effortless. Woods might be the guy with EJ's special wavelength, but Sammy can just effortlessly turn errant throws into highlight reel plays.
  5. Breaking story! "EJ Manuel wins Super Bowl, Rodak not impressed, says EJ had an"up and down game, with only 10 Touchdowns. Likely to be cut"
  6. Like they say in the article, that's what a 14 playoff drought will do to you.
  7. Quick! It's an emergency! I need to find my phone! ...because I f'n called it! Horrible and forced pun aside, back when we first got him, I expected him to be a starter on the outside. The fact that Woods and Watkins have been so good that they have him as WR 3 ought to make us giddy, His ability to go up and just get the ball is nothing new. I looked over his highlight reel, and it is just packed with him just snatching balls away, right when they look like guaranteed INT's. That's why I was shocked he didn't come down with the TD in the HOF game. I love that route though, and I'm hoping we see a lot more of it when the season starts...only, you, with him catching the bal.
  8. Yeah, that's what I hoping for at this point. If Glenn comes back, with Henderson on the right, I hope Cyril wins a start.
  9. I wholeheartedly agree. I was holding out some hope that Williams might turn it around, or at least be average. So far, he hasn't done a lot of convince me. I would not be at all shocked if Cyril Richardson steals the job by the end of the summer. Urbik and Hairston may not be blowing me away, but yeesh. Right now, I'm rating our O-line to be our weakest positional group. Hopefully that changes when Glenn gets back.
  10. Indeed. And again, I have to fault the O-line. In the recap, Chris Williams was the reason why Freddie got stuffed on the Goal-line. That right now, more than anything, is what makes me worry.
  11. Well, that looks like that's all we'll see from EJ. That said, apart from Red Zone work, he had a pretty damn good night.
  12. Yeah, the O-line is currently my biggest worry
  13. Yeah...for those of us who were sure that our D was so good...
  14. Considering how good the Panther's D is when they are clicking...
  15. i have to ask if there are two different practices being held. on one hand, ej is looking decent and recievers are making amazing plays and in the other our pure doom. quantum entaglement Maybe?
  16. i would also like to point out that the bills starting d-line left after two series, along with the previously mentioned absense of our two best cbs. when eli manning gets completely stifled by your starters, i'm less worried about what he does to the 2nd and 3rd stringers
  17. great write up wayne. now, trying to buck the trend by being optimistic and still realistic: ej is probably not going to the pro bowl this season. but the model that whaley has been trying to build around is similar to the steelers in their superbowl years. they brought in a large, mostly game manager qb and relied on a stout d. i would like to see ej brought along as a game manager. there are early signs that his mechanics are a bit better. he has wr's that can make plays for him. my biggest concerns are with the o-line at this point, since that will rush him.
  18. given our luck, also the number of running backs who get injured.
  19. i mostly agree with everything. i'm hoping that duke wins the start over seacry, since seacry isn't great in coverage. i also don't know if i would say the o-line did well. there were a lot of mistakes which didn't help with the batted passes. ej wasn't perfect, but that didn't help.
  20. yeah. though, as i seemed to remember, that work out pretty well for big ben in his second season
  21. honestly, i am more worried about the o-line than ej right now.henderson is coming along, other than that one big whiff that led to a batted pass, but i'm still not happy with pears, urbik of c. williams.
  22. i need to ask, did anyone else like what they saw from duke williams?
  23. Which is why I was curious as to why they pulled him so early. Eli, a more established vet and two time Super Bowl winner stayed in for three. For those worried about EJ's performance on the first two drives, I would like to take a look at Manning's against our starting defense: a three and out, followed by a strip sack fumble on the third play. EJ's arm strength looked fine. I do think he's at least partly to blame for missing the Sammy bomb, but Mike Williams really ought to have had that catch in the end zone, and that's usually what he's good at. We have a month to go folks.
  24. I was wondering that. I didn't see the who lead us in plucky battles against the Bengals and Dolphins. The others had their ups and downs, but he just looked bad.
