It was hilarious because right after the touchdown the scoreboard in the stadium announced there was a flag on the play. Everyone got excited because we thought the call would be overturned and people started booing when it wasn't. Then we got the "don't throw anything onto the field" announcement

1/15/22 WC PLAYOFFS Bills vs Pats* Postgame Thread
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am. Because I need to fly home after that It was cold enough last night that they just had to burn him -
I mean, he was a very able edge setter vs the run. For the Pats it might be a smart pickup. But on long term, we need our picks to take over

Am I crazy for wanting us to throw this game? I do not want KC in the divisional round -

Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!

I don't like the 4:15 start. The winds will be picking up. We should best the Jets regardless but I want Allen on the bench after halftime and this complicates that goal. -
wowwww. The Eagles get a 1st round pick from the Colts, and then Wentz does this and might get them knocked out of the playoffs.

I mean, we've gotten production out of these guys. Don't get me wrong. Beasley is an excellent safety blanket for Josh, and he has a great ability to beat zone coverage. The problem is that Allen is growing to a point where he doesn't need a safety blanket as much (you always can use one!) and Beasley is getting outstripped by Davis and McKenzie. I don't hate Star. He helps us in the run defense, which is a weakness of ours. But I can't say that his presence means that an opponent's run game gets shut down and he doesn't do all that much. I am ok with cutting both, and replacing with mid-price free agents while drafting to replace. It's the pattern of teams that win long term.

Week 16: Bills at Pats - DISCUSSION
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm also among those who think Mac Jones is a fraud. I'll credit Belicheck for putting him in a good situation to succeed, but he has kept the training wheels on. I'll let them dink and dunk and grind if Josh is able to use the whole offense this time -
Week 16: Bills at Pats - DISCUSSION
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember reading an article about Schwartz when he was here about the debate of the value of looking at pass rush success as sacks vs pressures I tend to be in the camp that sacks are great but the truest measure is pressures. Sacks can be flukey. Pressures mean that a QB is consistently making a choice quicker than they like. Sure, they sometimes make a big play but those pressures add up and lead to dump offs at best, a QB often not throwing their best ball, and sometimes them putting it up in the air for an INT. -
I think that thing that has us seething tonight is the lopsidedness. I remember back last year when the Bills beat LA and got a new set of downs at the very end because of a ticky tak DPI call. And what I heard all week was the sports world talking about how the refs had robbed LA of a heroic comeback. I am curious to hear how many say that this time. Look, I am a fan of defense. I want to let DBs play and make plays. I want refs to allow tight coverage. But it is particularly egredious to allow some severe contact by a DB on last years #1 receiver, tugging his jersey to a new size. Then, in overtime, an illegal contact call that is called 99 out of a 100 times vs the Bills is ignored only for pretty blatant OPI get called DPI. It's sickening. The amount of ballwashing that Brady gets is terrifying, and non-Bills fans have been noticing since last year

11/14/21 Postgame Thread: Bills at Jets
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like the return of McKenzie and Davis. I feel like they got rotated out of gameplans because you had Sanders. Is looks a lot more like our 2020 offense -
I have lived through too many heart attack game endings where teams against us rack up a touchdown against prevent coverage and holding our breath as they try an onside kick. Kicking a field goal still leaves that sliver of a chance of a Dolphins comeback. Taking a knee still leaves time on the clock. That's a hallmark of good teams: you put your boot on their throat when you can and you force them to stop you.

Bills at Titans - 2nd Half Thread
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope we see some jet motion in the second half. It seems like the Titans are blitzing every play and some misdirection might help. -
Philly has the 1st round pick

Honestly, I wanted him this summer. But from what I've seen, we are getting more out of Know than Philly got out of Ertz this year. It could very well be from the downgrade in QB talent, but I don't see a reason to spend assets for him at this point, epecially when Ertz walks next year

Week 5: Bills at Chiefs on SNF

We're on to Kansas City -
Just noting that, while it's early, we are starting to see returns from our draft this year. Rousseau, along with a few sacks has been flying past the edge. Basham got his first sack today. Spencer Brown got moved to starting RT. None is rocket to the moon, but it's nice consistent production. I'm happy with what we've seen so far.

Beth Mowins to call Bills-Texans
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to pile on, but I literally preferred to watch with the sound off rather than the Barber/Mowins combo. I got more life from the studio calls -
I know that these are special circumstances. The Bills were against a team that was already not very good in 2020 and then were down to their third string QB, that was on the road, in pouring rain. 40-0 shutouts do not happen often in the modern NFL. 109 yards of offense allowed does not happen in the modern NFL.
