  1. Great news: the Bills already hired Bill Polian. Approximately 25 years ago.
  2. Dude--- Doug Martin is at least 15 lbs heavier than CJ, and he's "all muscle". I don't disagree that Spiller can and should be utilized more, but let's not pretend there aren't durability concerns with a back built like him.
  3. A 5'10" 200 lb RB in 2012 is a lot smaller than a 5'10" 200 lb RB in 1975-87. Walter Payton was also exceptionally strong.
  4. No head coach has won a Super Bowl with more than one team. A few have taken multiple teams to a SB (Parcells, Vermeil, Shula, etc) however.
  5. This sentiment is at least somewhat logical for fans outside of the region, but it also boggles my mind to read comments that the representative city is "arbitrary". Would an L.A. Packers franchise still evoke Vince Lombardi and Frozen Tundra? Or would a large swath of the NFL's identity be irrevocably lost? The Colts franchise is no longer about Johnny Unitas, it's Peyton Manning. Unitas identified himself with the Baltimore Ravens before his death, because the City/Region is anything but "arbitrary". I think the Bills leaving Buffalo would be such a painfully visceral experience for the community that, yes--- the Bills would be "dead" to a lot (or probably most) of us. To assume otherwise is outrageous. The Brooklyn Dodgers and L.A. Dodgers represent two eras of the same National League franchise--- but each team has a completely distinct identity defined in large part by their community and regional fanbase. Again, the above sentiment is at least logical for an outsider to have, but to suggest that a professional sports franchise with as much history in a single region as the Bills moving to another region somehow wouldn't matter is naive, intellectually dishonest or at the very least: lazy. The Bills in another city would be a completely different entity and one I with which I (and millions of others) could no longer relate.
  6. He... played LB for the Bills. ???
  7. The proposed sports museum is exactly the kind of permanent year round attraction needed for the City of Buffalo--- and certainly not the ONLY one. The Strong National Museum of Play is an incredible place to visit and attracts throngs of visitors year round. If they're involved then that further proves this is a legitimate progressive idea. Again, a lot of issues need to be worked out, but to completely dismiss it from the outset is depressingly shortsighted. Perhaps all too typical for City government and the Bills.
  8. Although this idea in it's current state is not practical, I agree with those suggesting it's foolish to dismiss it out of hand. Solutions to longstanding problems don't come out of the womb fully formed. It would be nice to see the Bills and the local government try to chip away at the logistical issues rather than blow it off.
  9. Then why would it bother Brady?
  10. If you're wishing the team moves then it sounds like you've already made the jump.
  11. Isn't he 13-26 with the Bills? He won 18 in 2 seasons in Dallas. (Not that changes much)
  12. Understatement of the year. Fitz had a terrific game and the defense sucked for pretty much 90% of the day. But Fitz had an opportunity to put the game away with a 1st down and he got picked on one of his worst throws of the season. He then had an opportunity to get the offense into field goal range with a full minute and 2 timeouts--- and he flubbed it. You can't say "you can't put this on Fitz", because it's arguable that the defense put them in position to win the game in the 2nd half. Splitting hairs on just how much blame is to be parsed out to either Fitz or the D is getting old.
  13. Trestman is a very interesting candidate. I've been a staunch Chan supporter for much of his term here (although to say I was initially disappointed by the the hire a huge understatement) but I might sign up for a new HC next year if it's a guy like Marc Trestman, regardless of his wanderlust.
  14. I always liked Choice when he was in Dallas and LOVED that he signed here--- aside from Mike Tolbert in Carolina, he may be the best 3rd string RB in the league. I'm genuinely touched by his comments in the postgame video, although it's perhaps they're the kind of thing that someone says in every lockerroom postgame rah-rah speech and we're just not privy to it. Regardless, my enthusiasm for the 2012 season has slowly been rekindled throughout the early part of this week and that speech injected a nice spike. Hats off to these guys if they can right the ship--- cohesiveness and gelling are still possible. Then again, I'm well into a bottle of wine!
  15. That may as well be the Buffalo Bills organizational Mission Statement.
  16. Watt is slightly more hyped than Dareus, but by no means is he "much more productive". Dareus was essentially the lone bright spot on the defense for much of last season--- it's no small thing for a rookie DT to get 5.5 sacks, particularly on a **** D.
  17. You're being more than a little harsh in characterizing it as a "blunder"--- he went all out to keep the ball from crossing the line. If he didn't, it would've bounced into the endzone anyhow. It was a difficult play, and his outstretched leg barely scraped the line.
  18. It's much more impressive that he's excellent on the field--- the Pro Football unemployment line is littered with workout warriors.
  19. That's true--- strangely, playoff tiebreakers and division tiebreakers are not built on the same logic. It's something that seemed to come up every year when the Bills were still mathematically in contention toward the end of each season from 2002-2008 or so.
  20. It's a step--- if confidence was an issue with the defense then this win may help in that regard. The QB, on the other hand...
  21. Learning a new system with a handful of new players shouldn't lead to historic defensive collapses in consecutive weeks--- otherwise your post is spot on.
  22. "People" are tired of consistent mediocrity. I haven't given up on the Bills, but I hate what I've seen in their 3 losses and in some of their wins--- like today. The Bills did appear to give up in the previous 2 games--- if that doesn't upset you then I don't know what would.
  23. The defense had plenty of lapses today--- Arizona's O is probably the worst the Bills will play all season.
  24. Kind of but not really--- in typical Buffalo Bills fashion, even when we have the best record in the division, we're still in last place!
