  1. LOL--- for !@#$'s sake.
  2. Odd that Silva was on the Bills' practice squad for a month or so last year--- and now he's back. The name doesn't ring a bell.
  3. Since last Sunday I keep thinking the same thing--- I'm not sure how far away the Bills are from fielding a competitve roster, but it feels as though we're further away than they've ever been. In all seriousness, when they started the 2010 season 0-8, they were very competitive and felt much closer than right now. After 2 seasons they should be knocking on the doorstep, not stepping on a rake in the backyard.
  4. Ray Bentley's greatest achievement! Excellent reference.
  5. This was discussed in the shoutbox last night--- it's likely that his perspective is weighted by the recent death of his brother.
  6. You're clearly not a true fan.
  7. Even if the Bills did trade for him, he wouldn't be given enough reps in Gailey's offense until 2014.
  8. I'd rather bring back Chuck Knox--- and I think that'd be a terrible idea.
  9. This is undoubtedly true, and there is precedent for teams starting off disasterously and righting the ship--- but 3 of the first 5 games in that 16 game season have been unmitigated tire fires. Like K9 said, 2-3 was a plausible record to start off the season for even an optimistic Bills fan, but the way they got to 2-3 is embarrassing to say the least.
  10. Brian Billick was so desperate to get back into the NFL he openly campaigned for the job--- I bet even he'd think twice now.
  11. Honestly, I thought we'd have a shot at winning outright back in April--- at the very least I thought it would be a tight, low scoring game.
  12. What is the deal with injuries and this team? Since 2006 I'm not sure any team has seen more long term injuries or IRed players.
  13. If eball and PTR are this down then I can't blame anyone for feeling pessimistic. I am generally ultra positive regarding the Bills, but it's been almost beaten out of me.
  14. It's probably fitting that the post of the year was made in the worst thread ever.
  15. That's why I said "effectively". He's CEO in title--- which means next to nothing in regards to football operations. Buddy is Executive VP in charge of footbal operations and Ralph isn't going to allow Russ to make the big decisions in regards to firing Nix--- and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want him making those kinds of decisions anyhow.
  16. TO is available. Unlike the pre-Nix era, Russ Brandon isn't responsible for the ****ty on-field product. Effectively, his job is to drum up ticket/merchandise sales, and like nucci says, he's doing a decent job under the circumstances.
  17. Same here. This part is accurate, though. But yeah, I'm not sure the players already on the roster were anything but giddy about the acquisitions of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson. It sounds like it may be sour grapes that he was a player they weren't really interested in retaining--- although it certainly has worked out in his favor. A quote like this (an opinion he also expressed when he played here und Gailey) brings up a question: "Only for so long can you hear, 'We have to build the killer instinct' or 'We're not mentally tough.' That should never leave the meeting room. You're questioning your own team's mental toughness in the media? That's not right." Is this true? Is it demoralizing for a team? It sounds like the type of things coaches say all the time, but maybe it is something that should not be made public.
  18. I really do like Fitz... but even when he has ample time to throw, an excellent running game and wide open receivers he still can't consistently hit his targets. Even under optimum conditions, he has struggled to be average. Opposing defenses don't respect our downfield passing game... because we don't have one. The RBs are often encountering backfield penetration before a play has a chance to develop because LBs and Safeties are cheating up. This is all Fitz. The only point in diagnosing Fitz' inadequacies is to suggest the Bills need an upgrade a the position. The defense sucks harder right now than even last year. That's a whole other issue that no QB could likely overcome. Team confidence appears to be at an extraordinary low right now, due in no small part to the rampant turnovers and 3 and outs on offense. I like Fitz a lot--- I truly do--- but it may be time for him to take a job on Wall Street.
  19. Who the hell would want to coach this team? No one wanted to take the job last time, and it's arguably worse.
  20. I also thought this from March to September. Although i do expect some improvement over the course of the season being better than those teams no longer seems "realistic".
  21. Mike Smith is probably the 10,000,000th individual to make this observation. Despite not successfully addressing it, the Bills also know this to be true. If we go another year without addressing it, then I don't know what the !@#$ else to do, think or say.
  22. The biggest upgrade needed for Ralph Wilson Stadium is the !@#$ing team on the field.
  23. The last time we begged Cowher to come to Buffalo he gave his strongest possible recommendation for Chan Gailey.
