  1. You playin', right?
  2. Me too! It may not amount to much on a struggling Seattle team where he'll likely be a part of a committee, again. I was actually hoping for Green Bay, but it may still pan out.
  3. They have until 4pm on Saturday to decide whether or not to ask for a roster exemption on Shawn Nelson due to his groin surgery recovery. Someone else will need to be released at that point if the exemption is not requested.
  4. Jammal Brown will be 30 this coming offseason. I would guess, with no apparent answer at QB, by the time the Bills are realistically competitive he'll no longer be a part of the future and the draft pick was deemed more useful for that purpose. I don't think the Bills are winning games this year even with Brown at a T spot.
  5. The Bills guards pushed the Pats D-line around, too. The Jets front 7 are just that much better. Plus, Wood is not healthy enough to make the move to center just yet. I wish to high holy heaven we were able to acquire Wake and Dansby as Miami had (and the Bills tried with both), but what can we do. There are a number of talented 3-4 linebackers entering free agency after this season, hopefully they can attract 1 or 2 of them.
  6. I don't know, Al Davis has made some pretty puzzling moves of late... But seriously, even the Raiders wouldn't give up a 2nd (probably not even a 3rd). And although I'm more interested in improving the Bills, I don't think it's fair to send a good egg like Lee from Siberia East to Siberia West.
  7. The only way to get a 2nd for Lee Evans would be to call Al Davis. Aside from Lee's genial attitude, he's the perfect fit for the Raiders: a speedy veteran washout. They gave up a 1st for Richard Seymour, maybe they'll take Evans.
  8. They need to draft the right QB... drafting one just for the sake of drafting one would net another JP Losman. If Andrew Luck does not declare this year and the Bills felt they would go "all in" to acquire him in 2012, I wouldn't mind them taking one later in 2011. Not to be the franchise guy of the future but simply to have guys to evaluate. I really don't think Locker and Mallett are the guys.
  9. Marginally better; if you're talking about simply composing a Bills team with the players either released or traded they'd be treading water, no better than they were from 2002-05. No doubt, the Bills should have kept a number of those players (Pat Williams, Winfield, Greer, Spikes, even Fletcher although he was maddening at times with his braindead penalties and downfield tackles), but not all of them.
  10. Andre Anderson is on the practice squad. So, no one. Maybe we can sign Julius Jones? I heard he was just released.
  11. It's so sad because those top 3 picks looked to be excellent choices at the time, and even for two years or so later. People love John Wendling, though. Can't he jump really, really, super high or something?
  12. Considering both the Eagles and Packers are playoff contenders desperate for RB help and have had discussions with the Bills regarding Lynch... isn't it obvious this is absolutely the best deal available? It's not like they were offered more and scoffed at it. The Bills fleeced Baltimore for McGahee, although they were fleeced by throwing away a 1st round pick on him. That trade is not the standard for 4th year RBs. The real question is whether or not the available compensation was worth unloading him at all, not the compensation itself.
  13. It's a 6th that could "escalate" to a 5th dependent upon Lynch's performance.
  14. At 0-5 they'll trade Seattle's 4th round pick for a 2012 5th and a 7th. Actually, maybe they'll trade Stroud to the Colts, more than likely for draft picks. That would definitely be in line with the re-Bill-ding. That of course would depend entirely on Alex Carrington.
  15. Jackson is listed at 6'1" 215 lbs, as opposed to Marshawn at 5'11" 215 lbs. The difference is pretty negligible, but Freddie is definitely not considered a small back.
  16. I agree, the Packers viewed a 7th round pick (Mayy Flynn) in that same 2008 draft as a more viable option for the 2nd team QB spot which damages Brohm's credibility (he admittedly struggled mightily in his first training camp). However, Green Bay only carried 2 QBs on their roster for awhile due to injuries at other positions, and Brohm was actually on the practice squad. They offered to add him to the active roster as the 3rd QB when the Bills came calling last year. This has all been said before, and all it means is that to this point his career has been disappointing since he was highly regarded at Lousiville from 2007-08. He's got one final shot this year to prove it, I think.
  17. I can't believe this simple fact has been so elusive for so many. Is it not obvious they cannot show their hand? What value is there for NFL teams in revealing details in any roster moves before the fact anyhow?
  18. Yeah, his stock shot way down after he struggled his senior year. The Lousiville D was awful and he forced a lot of throws which scared off the "experts". It's strange how he and Jake Locker were criticized for not coming out early (subsequently watching their draft positions drop dramatically) while Jevon Snead's pro career is essentially caput because he came out early. There's no way to really know other than getting these guys on the field in live NFL action. I don't think anyone can say what Brohm is one way or another, yet, but his potential was viewed as high as anyone over the past several years. Hopefully we'll find out.
  19. Wow.
  20. I think what he's referring to is that Brian Brohm, at one point, was projected as the first overall pick for the 2007 draft, although he did not come out. Right now, Luck is not the consensus 1st overall pick (although he very well may be when he declares). What he's saying is not exactly correct but the idea that Brohm was a hyped prospect while in college is true enough and adds some credence that it's a worthwhile notion to see what he can do on the field.
  21. I'm definitely interested in seeing Brohm get a few consecutive starts under his belt--- it's not crazy to think he might actually be, you know, good and all. But, what's funny is that although he was projected to be the best QB coming out in 2007 (had he done so), in retrospect it's not saying a whole lot when looking at the rest of the '07 class: Jamarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Kevin Kolb, John Beck, Trent Edwards... what a weird year for QBs. Still, bring on Brohm, already.
  22. It's always darkest when your head is so firmly up your ass.
  23. Then why does Talley care? He wasn't drafted by Bill Polian
  24. I thought it was announced last year that Thurman was brought into the organization as an entry level scout. He appeared during press conferences at OBD in some kind of official capacity around the time Nix and Gailey were hired.
