OFFICIAL GAMEDAY THREAD (10/3/10): BILLS @ JETS
Punch replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even more disturbing than the penalty is Florence's "booyah" celebration rather than look for the bouncing ball he could have easily caught. Of course, it wouldn't have counted but a little awareness would've been nice. -
I think (re:hope) the only thing stopping the Bills from moving Wood over to Center at this point is his continuing recovery from the broken leg he suffered last year. He's still being spelled for a few plays here and there (even an entire series in the NE game) and it's a little more important to have continuity at the Center position.

Does anyone blame Brown for the 'comment'
Punch replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I apologized for "busting your balls" not for calling you gay. I only asked you why you're so into Kelsay. As for being embarrassed... are you not embarrassed after your post after post of the same crap? I just think you're weird. And there are clearly a ton of posters that agree. I'm sure you're a cool dude and all, but playing this game where you keep insisting someone threw slurs at you is pretty douchey. Ever watch Seinfeld? -

I didn't call you gay, and if you choose to be flattered for being recognized as a moron... awesome! That's a gold star for you! Actually, you're more or less the only poster posting at this time of night, hence the multiple responses. And you also define "troll" for all intents and purposes. Look it up! -

I agree 100% To be clear, there were previous commenters concerned about his attitude in light of these comments including some in this thread... that's what I was referring to. -
Dude, if anyone is a troll, it's you. It's late and TSW has very little activity, however. I'll refrain from responding to your million and one threads on the same subject. Ha, no worries... it wasn't clear from my post.

Obviously I don't have a problem with Levi or his comments, as evidenced by my posts in this thread. However, the number of Twitter followers he has is not relevant to whether or not has displayed a bad attitude. If he had a bad attitude regarding being cut by the Bills was the concern of several in the event of his rejoining the team. If you want to use straw man insults heaved upon you, be my guest. I only question why you are so into Kelsay as a legitimate starting OLB for the next 4 years. I apologize if you feel harassed in anyway, it is entirely unintentional. Good luck in all your future endeavors. -
I'm parroting NaPolian8693's manlove for Chris Kelsay from the million threads he's started on the subject... in other words, sarcasm.
-
Like I said, "not that there's anything wrong with that". I just don't understand why you're so into him. You know, like everyone else here stuck in "group think" that thinks you're being weird.
-
Why can't you accept what Whitner has contributed to this organization? I don't get the hate. He deserves to be extended, IMHO.
-
I don't hate Kelsay at all, but you seem to love him to an absolutely unhealthy degree. It's telling that you use the phrase "handful" when referring to your honey bear. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

And of course, whether or not he has a bad attitude is completely dependent on the number of people following him on social networking websites. For the record, I don't think he has a bad attitude at all, but as with virtually all of your posts, logic and reason reside solely in " fantasyland". -
At the very least, I hope for your sake that he cups your balls. You certainly deserve it after all of your hard work.

He also said he was "pissed" that he didn't even get a practice squad invite. He later apologized for the emotion of the moment and explained that he was more upset with his own performance than anything else and not the Bills for cutting him. He deleted the twitter comments so they are no longer viewable. Nothing earth shattering and perfectly understandable, really. He's a mature young man and simply let some emotions fly in the heat of the moment. -
He hasn't gotten any GM offers but wasn't he working as a front office consultant in Atlanta? Possibly still?

If you could trade Lee Evans for a Starter

And if anyone knows a thing or two about "making bad threads"... -
Each of the last 3 Bills Front Office "regimes" are now responsible for prolonging the Chris Kelsay era: -Donahoe drafted him high in the 2nd round -Levy/Brandon/Overdorf gave him a giant raise and extension -Nix now gives him a 2nd extension I'm not sure why Ralph or anyone else that served continually at One Bills Drive during the past 8 years would have such a soft spot for Kelsay, but there's just no way he truly is a starting DE/OLB in this league worth that kind of money. He's 30 years old and we're rebuilding? And Cornell Green's contract runs out when he's 37? Come on, now.

The Bills were definitely not in cap hell when they decided to not re-sign Big Pat. They had already added London Fletcher, Takeo Spikes, Sam Adams, Lawyer Milloy, and Troy Vincent from 2002-2004 to the defense alone via free agency. Even if they couldn't technically afford it at the time he hit FA the decision to not extend him when they had the chance is the mistake to which I'm referring. Using Williams' age as the reason was especially odd considering Adams was even older than Pat; there was definitely a feeling at the time that Donahoe was simply purging the roster of the previous regime's players in favor of his own acquisitions.
-
I'm inclined to believe them as well, if for no other reason than the fact Nolan Nawrocki actually offered an opinion on an under the radar player like Levi Brown and his possible fit in Buffalo under Gailey. Evidence of actual reportage, IMHO.
-
That's definitely the only place where it's being reported that way. The National Football Post posting Levi's own words via Twitter: "NEVER woulda guessed id be in this position right now," Brown wrote on his official Twitter account. "Not even a practice squad invite. i've now officially gone from surprised to pissed! .." Maybe something changed after other roster moves but it was never reported. Then again, practice squad moves are usually only made public when a player has definitively been added or removed.
-
I would guess if the Bills didn't extend his contract and instead allowed him to slip into free agency he would still get his wish to retire as a Buffalo Bill. Which is what we all want, really, just sooner rather than later. Like, Week 4.
-
It still pains me that Pat Williams (and not to mention Winfield) is still such an effective player in this league even though Donahoe felt so strongly that he was "on the wrong side of 30" and refused to sign him.
-
If Kelsay is still getting $6 million per year then the Jets should be paying David Harris something In the neighborhood of $18 million this offseason when they extend him. The only positive to this is that apparently Kelsay didn't get a raise.

Signing Levi - Was it our best option ?
Punch replied to I hate the Bills !'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills were interested in Levi long before the draft. He was a guy they actually wanted. It would've been nice to keep him on the practice squad and all, but Chan indicated with so many other positions of need and so little QB work available in practice they had to let him go. Why is anyone shocked? When there was enough room on the roster to keep him he was the 4th QB. Now one the guys ahead of him is gone and he's back. Big deal.
