  1. Cook averaged less than 60 yards a game & while Brown is solid he is not of the level of Sewell, Lane Johnson or Wirfs, yet. And how is that working out. Ask someone who follows the Bears what they think of Edmunds
  2. That article provides no useful information. What were their votes based on? Why did voters consider Josh the MVP? They even mentioned how poor our wide receivers were last year. Yes, McGovern has been a solid player but even you have to admit, that there has been far more misses than hits. If you are hanging your hat on signing a useful center, you need to elevate your expectations.
  3. Bengals gave up 25.5 while the Bills gave up 21.6; you replace our Jet games with their Baltimore games and that number evens out. I picked Samuel because he’s our highest-paid WR
  4. We were discussing draft picks. McGovern has been a solid FA pick up
  5. You know better than to judge NFL teams on their week 1 performances. Why is there a saying “smart money doesn't bet week 1”? I'm just happy KC didn't play week 17 allowing Denver to make the playoffs instead of Cinci. Goff also had St Brown & LaPorta. Josh had Samuel & Kincaid.
  6. I was switching the Bills & Cinci. Buffalo probably goes 4-2, possibly 3-3 against division rivals Pitt, Bmore & Cleveland, this of course is factoring Tomlin better game planning for division opponents, while Cinci could go 6-0/5-1 against the Jets, Pats & Fish losing a meaningless last game of the season. It does for MVP discussion. Josh did more with less, which is why he won the award
  7. Cinci’s roster got discredited for not making the playoffs, yet they would have ran away with the AFC East had we switched divisions Who on our offense are you picking over a Detroit starter & who on our defense are you picking over a KC starter?
  8. Cinci making the playoffs in the AFC East is question. They would have been division champs. Bills are making the playoffs as long as Allen is healthy
  9. Cinci went 3-3 in their tougher division while Buffalo went 5-1, reverse the division records and they are both 11 win teams.
  10. We will win the majority, just not all of them and it will cost us the 1 seed
  11. You know that's exactly what he will say in a future presser. Milano was also Whaleys last draft
  12. Or we bust on those draft picks and the defense is a complete sieve again.
  13. If Bosa misses fewer than six games, that would be fantastic.
  14. Benford has missed the season finale for three years in a row; that's a trend. The Pro Bowl is a joke because everyone makes it.. You’re on this board too, maybe the only virgin is the one you see in the mirror. If you think Beane has carried his weight the last 4 years, I don't know what to tell you.
  15. You are selecting players who struggle to complete a season and fail to make the Pro Bowl as examples of why Beane is a great general manager. While it's great to support the team, Beane has been gradually performing worse in all aspects of his job. When you defend him, it's natural for others to challenge your viewpoint.
  16. Step your game up
  17. So no one in 4 years? *White, Dawkins & Milano weren't drafted by Beane
  18. If Cooper wants one last payday, it will not happen here unless he agrees to an extremely team-friendly deal, as he has grown tired of playing for crap teams.
  19. Thanks, I wasn't sure about the salary considerations.
  20. You are probably & hopefully right. Is it the contract they sign or does playing time & production matter? If Hollins, Clapp & Toothill all kill it & make pro bowls (highly unlikely) & our signing are all duds, (hopefully unlikely) would we gain a few picks?
  21. We didn't think we would get anything for Settle or that Hollins would qualify; things can change
  22. This is year seven of this regime, and the philosophy isn’t centered around building a strong defense with highly skilled players. Having Josh on the team puts significant pressure on the opposing offense, which allows us to capitalize on their mistakes. When the other team plays carelessly, our defense appears formidable; however, when the other team is performing well, our defense often looks ineffective. It's a cycle that continues.
  23. He'd still find work. He'd get another shot or two at GM and then other FO gigs around the league but without finding another Josh he won't see a winning season Right, there's people patting him on the back for turning a 1st rounder into a 6th rounder
  24. He is currently doing his job; the quality of his work will be assessed next February. He still has a draft to finalize. The issues we encountered with the cap were due to the contracts he issued.
