  2. James Harrison was not drafted by Donahoe (who left the team following the 1999 season), and did not contribute during the superbowl year at all. It probably furthers your point actually, that Cowher had such a tremendous talent but had no clue. He was never a full time starter until the '07 season. Aside from that, pretty solid point. The major difficulty with the theory that coach x won due to awesome talent, is that many teams are talented year-in and year-out. Norv Turner is a prime example of a coach who's team is incredibly talented on both sides of the ball, yet he clearly isn't this tremendous coach. I think you're right in that LeBeau's defense won Pittsburgh its superbowls, but its not as concrete an argument as you make it. Cowher had to have done something to get his talented players to play hard.
  3. I think it means thinking Obama's speech was better than it was.
  4. Ah, but do you do consistently blame the people that you inherited the mess from while you're "cleaning them up"?
  5. I'm speechless. How could you possibly be that naive?
  6. GET RID OF YOUR CAT AVATAR! It's basically telling us you're a 45 year old over weight woman, or you're a gay dude. You've got an avatar that says "meow". That's really !@#$ing lame.
  7. Exactly, its not your fault. I don't blame you at all. Why should you expect something called "biased news"? When you're writing an article, or doing a report, you have to have some sort of thesis, polemic, or a point (whatever you want to call it). Say your point is, "We need to get out of the middle east". You're more likely to include any cons to the wars than mention the soft diplomacy, right? It's the nature of the beast. I don't know why you italicized fault, as I made it clear twice in my previous posts, that its not your fault. And yes, you did do something wrong: You assumed that Dan Rather and NPR are reporting everything to you, and not just what they want to report to you.
  8. Nothing, but Brohm will get two very cool things from the game: Experience and confidence. Ya know, the two things you don't get playing with the third stringers...
  9. I don't know how to say this politely, but that video made justinzane's weekly pregame show look like a Steven Spielberg production.
  10. It's not your fault, but its silly that you talk about this "soft" diplomacy as if it's something we're implementing much more. As in, since Obama has been in office. Again, its not your fault because why would your news sources praise anything or explain to you whats going on in Afghanistan or Iraq under the Bush administration. Essentially, if Americans or civilians aren't dying, it probably hasn't been newsworthy to you for the last 6 or 7 years. I don't think its that we all need to be bitching about this "reckless" spending. I think a different approach should be taken, where the right tries its best to explain the economic ramifications of the administration, beginning with layman's terms, and progressively increases the explanations until the social differences are no longer the largest factor disassociating the left from the right. Essentially, what happens when someone from the right bitches about the economy on these boards? A lefty will simply attest that Bush wasn't exactly a frugal saint, or what have you. From there the righty bitches about the lefty always blaming the former administration, and no progress is made. This banter is why most people avoid the PPP like the plague. Regardless of this fallacy, I believe that a lot of these pointless arguments stem from a serious difference in social beliefs. The problem is that these social differences have poured into all categories, and so there now teams. The right is always wrong in the mind of the left, and vice versa. Bitching will never, ever get anyone anywhere. I would argue that if people began starting threads not necessarily bitching about the economy, but explaining the implications, and showing a cost/benefit analysis of centralized medicare, for example, it would make the debates the more legitimate and entertaining. Similarly, I think you'll find that Mr. Hedd, Steely Dan and the likes would not participate as often, because they know very little about these simple realities. Sure they may chime in with an occasional bush joke, but if ignored long enough, perhaps they will begin to think for themselves and assess the situation in the same grave manner that you or I do.
  11. I can't tell if you're serious or not?
  12. McNabb has a rocket arm and coming out of college was "fast".
  13. Seriously, shut up and stop being a little B word.
  14. hahaha i hope this thread never sees a second page.
  15. I like how all of the sudden its the Republicans who didn't want women to vote. It's so easy to re-write history when you own the education system. This guy is a turd.
  16. I don't know what that means, and I'm sorry if I'm coming off as ridiculous for "frying a late choice"... but we obviously didn't need another DB with our depth, and having seen him play about 5 times a year when I was at WVU, witnessing this "play-maker" cost the Mountaineers some games those two seasons he started, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that we don't need this guy running around getting beat by legit receivers.
  17. No. He was actually a liability often for WVU. The notion that he was some stand-out college corner that fell to us in the 7th round is ridiculous. He isn't playing because he's awful. Just because you catch a couple of crappy tosses by a crappy third string quarterback doesn't mean you're NFL material. He had a lucky little preseason and will have a great story to tell his kids and grand-kids through the years. I'd probably bet money that Lankster never starts a game in the NFL.
  18. I'll buy that off you.
  19. Wow, are you ever in denial. Tebow will not achieve ANY success at the QB position in the NFL.
  20. I could see it opening up the ability for an earlier game, but clearly the Rogers Centre is not big enough to support an NFL team.
  21. Riiiight, some of your "friends". You don't have to lie to us Bishop, we know who you're really talking about.
  22. The way you came off in that post...was an asshat who thinks that they're better than an iconic all-american hero because he was raised in a different place than you, making him speak differently.
  23. Wild card is impossible. It just is. Only thing we can do is hope the Pats split, and the Bills take em down in their Week 15 game. Playoff picture is almost impossible, with us needing 5 wins, and Patriot losses to Jacksonville, Us, and either the dolphins, panthers, texans.
  24. Right, but your ultimate conclusion should be that because starters can be found anywhere, that is certainly NOT the best way to value/assess draft picks.
  25. That would surely piss off the '72 Dolphins.
