  1. Kiko broke up that pass using the force.
  2. I know it's not any type of solution, but it might be nice for the Bills to have Talley come back for a game and lead the Bills onto the field. It would at least give all of us an opportunity to show the man just how much he is still loved and appreciated here.
  3. The worst football game I ever went to was the 2009 Bills v. Browns game at the Ralph. The Browns won 6-3; the Bills had at least 8 false start penalties; and Derek Anderson completed 2 passes on 17 attempts. Cleveland's punter was undoubtedly the best player that day. The game is somewhat symbolic of the futility of both franchises in recent years. That being said, I loved it when the Bills had "Cleveland fan appreciation day" during the years when the Browns were gone. I think it speaks to the fact that Bills and Browns fans are kindred spirits.
  4. A court can and will enforce a valid contract, which is what I assume the Bills and the county entered into. Contrary to your suggestions, it has nothing to do with whether a court will force a new Bills owner into being a tenant; and the county will not have to show damages outside the scope of the contract. If the Bills move, the new owner pays $400 million, unless the contract is invalid or the press has misrepresented the terms.
  5. Man, thinking about this makes me feel sick. Right now I can't stomach to consider another 6-10 or worse season.
  6. I thought his portrayal of the stadium atmosphere was a bit dark and overstated. While I don't think the discussion of the drinking and rowdiness was inaccurate, I do think it was exaggerated. I just don't think the article captured what it really feels like to be at a Bills game. People do more than just get wasted. They hang out with family and friends and really enjoy cheering on the Bills. That said, the story of the two men that died was both sad and compelling.

  8. This article is epic. Well written and interesting. The themes aren't necessarily new, but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless. By the end of the article I started getting excited about this weekend's game against the Pats.

  10. With all of the hype and a unparalleled three days of meetings and visits, the courting of Mario Williams may very well land in the epic Buffalo sports failure column if he doesn't sign. Obviously not as big as wide-right or no goal, but epic nontheless in a long series of tremendous disapointments for us Buffalo fans. I hope it works out.
  11. The guy throws a football. That is his contribution to this world, and he is paid tens of millions of dollars to do it. I think his perspective on the world is arguably a bit skewed. I could care less what he thinks of hotel rooms or any other subject for that matter. It is sad that anyone even pays attention to his nonsense.
  12. In English football, the league has suspended players for several games if they are found to have made a racial slur during a game.
  13. A friend on mine in Indianaplois said that Polian had long worn out his welcome there due to his arrogance. He sent me this blog from an Indianapolis sports writer, which suggests that Polian's firing was the result of his personality and managment style. http://blogs.indystar.com/philb/2012/01/04/polian-dismissal-means-no-more-fear/
  14. You are right. I did miss that. My comments are more directed generally at journalists who continue to define Buffalo by "bad winters" and the "bad economy" when there is much more to the story. It really is about lazy journalism. Also, why do writers who are reporting or commenting on the Bills continually have to combine their articles with comments about Buffalo's "bad winters" or "bad economy". These points are cliche and irrelevant. They do it because it is easy and has been done countless times before them. They don't need to report. Instead they can regurgitate the unsubstantiated musings of uniformed "journalists" who have come before them. Put simply, it is easier.
  15. It speaks volumes about the lack of reporting in reporting when reporters seemingly cling to the cliche that Buffalo is some post industrial wasteland. Instead of finding out what Buffalo is really like, this reporter, along with most others from outside of the area, latch on to a popular but false notion that Buffalo is a horrible place to live with nothing going for it. We all know from firsthand experience that this premis is false. I feel like every time I have intimate knowledge of a subject that I read about it in the paper, I spot serious flaws in the accuracy of the reporting. It's unfortunate given the power of the media. These people should at least have some sense of responsibility to actually learn about a place before they trash it.
  16. ...And yet no suspensions? The guy exhibits zero impulse control on the field, but the NFL takes no action against his constant dirty play. I guess the league was preoccupied making sure that Vick signed with the Eagles.
  17. Thanks. Good call.
  18. Good points. I honestly didn't hear them talk about contractual obligations, although I suspected that was the issue. Go Bills. Go Sabres. Go Buffalo!
  19. I live in Philly and regularly listen to WGR on line. I tried to listen to the Bills post game on wgr after one of the Bill's greatest wins in a long while. Instead of the post game show, I was confronted with pregame, preseason Sabres commentary. I love the Sabres, and perhaps WGR was under some contractual obligations to talk about the Sabres, but I could not believe what I was hearing. I guess I'll have to listen to 97 Rock and their perpetual commercial breaks from here on out. Sorry to post something negative on an incredible day, but the Buffalo Bills and their fans deserve better. Go Bills!
  20. Is Tom Brady out? No. Hence, the best "excuse" for losing does not exist. Haynesworth and Chung are after thoughts. The Pats go the way of Brady and the offense. If the Bills win it will be a great victory, regardles of who is playing for the opposition. Wait. So no Parish, Urbick, McGee, Easley, Evans... Welcome to the NFL.
  21. If you have direct tv and the Sunday ticket you can pay an extra $50 for "to go" (or some similar name) and watch it on your blackberry
