  1. Sorry that the Bills might like the guy, but I don't.................. I also think we lose next week (I hope not but..........he does have a better chance of losing the HC job if they do...... so let me re-examine that).............. I have swagger too. See
  2. Cassell is a goner..........Brady is a future HOFer, it is that simple. BB just gave his back up QB the pay day and future JP was hoping for, talk about a system. I wish we had a coaching genius*.
  3. I really believe DJ just can not see the young talent he has. Development is one thing but seeing guys play better in Preseason than your vets, should tell the coach something more than it seems to tell ours............. Maybe Hardy needs more time to develop and we wanted our 2nd rounder to be great and earn his change, but the fact is SJ had a great preseason in comparision? WTF? last year it was Freddie. Greer too and if we don't resign them both the FO is even worse than I think. We really need Crowell back too, how much better did Poz look when he was here? I was psyced about our LBs before the season started...... Another thing I have been thinking all season long is that D.Bell looked pretty good in preseason too........................ The fact that we had very few starters from our draft this year while other teams did and do start rookies (I seem to remember a WR in the Miami game...............). Is just another show of DJs imcompetance...... we have a young team that is how they can grow together. Actually, I would say with Corner though we are pretty deep at corner, so although he is a nice addition, I don't think he should start. Good depth though (BTW also looked better than Mc Kelvin in the preseason, what if he would have gotten all of the reps that our #1 pick did this year? would we be talking about our rookie star CB?).
  4. spot on! HAHAHA I mis George Dick makes too many "coaching" mistakes, during games and evaulating talent, why are we only seeing S.Johnson now? why did we see F.Jackson after injuries? Why doesn't he see what is easy to see in preseason (these guys are good maybe better than our starters)? I want to D. Bell at this point, another one who had a good preseason. I think if I am RW I, move him up to VP of player personnel and have Bobby coach the team. Replace a scout or two, and our QB coach, get agressive in FA (and keep our best CB and 1/2 punch running back) this year and beefup the ends of the D-line (Peppers all the way), center position and admit the mistake you made with Crowell (God........ Poz misses him in there SO much) and bring him back. Also resign Peters! I actually want another TE but give D. Fine the starting job going into the year next season if we can't get a good FA one. These are changes I make if I am RW and want to fix things on the cheap (and think Dick needs to stay on the payroll because of my resigning blunder). AMEN, I like our D coach but prevent D, really can prevent you from winning. When will this lesson soak in? Tampa D is just a prevent scheme that really needs the right personnel to work. After 3 years and dozens of injuries we don't need it. We need some big guys, who knock heads. Not little fast guys who get hurt. I could see us using a 4/3 non zone for our secondary, but LB play and DE play really sucks on this team and we totally lack depth still, WTF?
  5. Short and to the point, I like it. I am not saying I have liked this past season but it shows he is still in it, even at 90.
  6. I really have to say, our coach just sucks at evaluating talent. In PRESEASON I could see Stevie was the real deal. I was calling for him to be in there over and over ALL YEAR LONG. Now 3rd and 2nd to last games and the Dick sees the light and Hardy had to get hurt for him to see it. After last year with the Freddie Jackson or my old friend, who is the better starter? question to this...................Dick just sucks, you play the better player not the higher draft pick, not the player who blocks better. You start the player who is the "playmaker". Why can I see this? but DJ, no. Move him up to VP of player personnel and have Bobby coach the team. Replace a scout or two, and our QB coach, get agresive in FA (and keep our best CB and 1/2 punch running back) this year and beefup the ends of the D-line (Peppers all the way), center position and admit the mistake you made with Crowell (God........ Poz misses him in there SO much) and bring him back. I actually want another TE but give D. Fine the starting job going into the year next season if we can't get a good FA one. These are changes I make if I am RW and want to fix things on the cheap (and think Dick needs to stay on the payroll because of my resigning blunder). Happy the Bills won today!!! Go Bills!!! Happy Holidays everyone!
  7. Griese would be a good mentor type player who could start of TE got injured or blew too bad, I kind of like it.
  8. ^^ you read my post yesterday didn't you. My guess is Bobby April gets coach, Dick gets VP of football operations and we lose Turk and AVP. That way we stay with our "cosintancy" and RB get to sell tickets. I wouldn't doubt we bring in some big name "talent" (i.e. Peppers) and let go more overpaid people too. I also think we get some new scouts (FA and draft). Is it a good plan? IDFK.................. but it may excite some people around here.
  9. I pretty much agree with you but have trouble seeing the attendence level staying up there next year with the current HC, OC, QBC and lack of a GM in charge of FB ops. I think RW will make changes if we are 8/8 or less this year, he has been kind of vocal of late "did you see that fumble?" I would finish that with "WhyTF did he even have the ball........" RW is not dumb, he knows this hasn't worked but probliably wants to keep the consistency too, I am sure. I think the "it is the talent" thing was to call out the players (and it worked on ML). I DO think he IS thinking about the after tax value without doubt. Maybe they use the Peter Princable and promote DJ to GM of FB ops. Get him out of a playcalling role! and I for one am for it. Plus if he goes the cheap route BA might be a real coach STs are good year after year (well except this year when they have faultered with youngsters a bit).
  10. I think you are right about some things. But RW keeping DJ? Not so certain that will happen < than 8/8 sounds right to me. I personally think Bobby April gets that spot (for countinity sake), and we get a GM (FB operations, maybe). I doubt Turk will be asked to stay or AVP for that matter. I think a vet HC like Norv Turner might be an option for OC but he would have to get along with BA. I would hope RW opens the purse for a pass rush DE and a center and maybe a olb (I wouldn't mind seeing Crowell back but........ who was mad at him anyway, admit your mistakes on both sides and bring him back). It would be great if they got more line help on both sides but I see that happening in the draft, so I doubt we see the fruits of it next year. The talent on the team at skill positions is good. One good tall target with some experience would be good as well (although, all season long I have been begging to see Johnson in there as #2). I honestly don't know about TE, sometimes he has looked like he is good and others he has JP disease, hopefully it is a youngness thing. I also hope they have the sense to bring in a tutor, back up who is good enough to take over if he is injured (who? IDK). I think if we were going to fight for playoffs this year we may have seen him but he also was stinky, before the groin pull....... Hope he's not prone to pulling his groin too much, that wouldn't be good.
  11. Well let me see, I am Jason Peters.........I take off all of training camp...................I play like sh*t the next four weeks........... I am still pretty sure I get more cash next year one way or another.......................I work Wednesday to Sunday, and still take plays off................I practice inside. I get my 3 million (and maybe more next year even when I miff on people sometimes............................ Okay sign me up too
  12. What Mort said might be a good thing but why am I not really able to care, all of a sudden?
  13. It is true porn streams better than football.
  14. Did you watch the Bills in the late 60s? Early 70s the sense of doom was worse then (until OJ and the O line developed) under a COACH who knew what to do with his personnel.
  15. The Bills and DJ need to win out to even have an excuse for many of them to come back next year. We have some talent but I think our fans say "we have the talent" way too much. There need to be changes, starting at the top and in personnel.
  16. Flutie was the most entertaining player we have had as a QB since Kelly. Kelly was entertaining for his grit and never die attitude, the little man because of his abilities as a "little man". I hated that he got the pine in that PO game, still think he was our best chance to win. I think he was pretty good. To go out on a limb here (and off topic), should we draft Tebrow to bring in a new "talented" and entertaining QB next year (at least as a back up) he DOES make plays and is a TD machine. Oh right, he won't do well in the NFL and is a product of his system............... sounds like the Flutie to me. It seems our system sucks (so I know already it aint going to happen) but I would bet he is going to be cool to watch somewhere.
  17. If we have to "wait until next year" and you are wrong........ well, expect no season ticket holders the year after. Personally, I think that Jaruon's day game management speak volumes about his abilities as a head coach. This team is young but so are plenty of others who are playing and coached better.
  18. Silver is a dip, can't stand him. Even if that story is true.
  19. I started a new job (woo whoo!) and had to sleep during the night for this weeks game (I am in Bangkok and it is Monday morning most times when they play, at least I got to watch last week, lol). I want Dick out, something my girlfriend never says. I read we lost with a bad taste in my mouth, 10 - 3 at home against the whinners, goodbye! and I haven't even read a thread about how his lousy coaching lost it for us ........................... yet. But, I know it did (okay I did see all the threads about firing Dick but didn't read them yet). You would think old RW would be rolling over in his grave. Hire Bobby April as interm see how he does with it.
  20. People would be jumping all over him if that second run didn't make the endzone. risky play, but I liked it anyway.
  21. I would say draft one in a later round, and bring in one FA. We also need a center a DT a DE I could even see them picking 2 of some position like they did last year and more FA players who they think are underrated. I just hope they realize that what they did with Crowell was a mistake, even if what he did was wrong. Maybe they could patch up the relationship and resign him. They absolutely need to make some signings of some of the players we have now.
  22. Yeah wtf was that? Is there not some points against your division/conference in the tie breakers? I also think a little earlier they had good reason, I remember the "comeback". Wouldn't surprise me to see it happen against the Bills someday.
  23. A few of my own thoughts 1. It is great McKelvin stepped up today, but we played a team FULL of rookies, he really, really needs to get out side sooner on KO returns, it has been disturbing to see him get tackled by kickers since the preseason. BUT at the same time, I have to say he is really improved and that is good to see. He is still a rookie and I expect to see more mistakes in the coming weeks. Seeing him taking KOs in stride is a thing of beauty. 2. Why, oh why does DJ let them take timeouts like they mean nothing? He is a frustrating fellow, I was happy to see us win and win big but I really do doubt he should be our coach, still. He lost me after our first loss this season when he went back to the coach he was last year. The losses this year are still on him, in my mind. I really, really hope I am wrong to say it. I hope he proves me wrong, I understand that this is a young team who has had key injuries and we are still developing; I understand we will make mistakes. I think he has built a good nucleolus, but the game day decisions.... well, I just don't have faith in him, even today. I hope he can see you have to try some other personnel even if there are not injuries. Rotation can be a very good thing. I was encouraged about what I saw on offence today but not so much on the Ds part. 31 points and lots of yardage, break but we did break again today. Some good play and luck got us the win not the D game plan or execution. That said TS and TE both seemed to come out of the rookie slump against the Chiefs. They must of saw what they practiced against out there this week. And it was a good game plan, although they got a little too pass happy in the second and early third still, the run game was working ML and Head could have had bigger days. These guys really need to watch the Giants play some games. We have a similar offense. 3. I thought the middle of the Dline looked good this week and last but we really need some LB and DE help to be good. I think it is hard to have a rookie MLB and undersized guy behind our weakest side of the line. The injuries to our DBs hurt us and I hope Whitner and Co. are better by the remaining in-confrence games at the latest. And yeah, the Crowell situation was badly handled, we could certainly use him. 4. Since it was discussed above, one of Jason’s penalties on that drive was not a penalty, the other was. Trent made up for both by running and it was good he showed that he can be tough out there. Jason has looked better the last few weeks; I think he has improved a lot on his RUN blocking this year. He doesn't look as good as a pass blocker but maybe that has been because of the injuries around him this year. He is a much better LOT than many of you are giving him credit for. It really is one of the most important positions in modern football, our close games that we won earlier in the season shows that. ""if we have a very good LT on the roster it would probably behoove us to re-sign him during the next off-season in order to lock up such an important position for the next 7 years."" I totally agree with that statement. 5. Trent............................ wow, that was what I expect to see from you. You seem to have the tools. I hope you found IT and don't lose IT again. I can see a lot of reasons that you had trouble the last few weeks, good to see the roll out and play-action, I hope you can continue to do that when Preston is getting blown up by a big NT when we play a 3/4 team again. Please remember you can take a hit and you can run. Also, pump faking is an effective tool that you should use. It was also great to see you audible, totally what I want to see. I think DJ and TS kept him in there in the fourth because the D was letting them score at will all game long and the biggest thing that stopped them was their own mistakes. I didn't feel really comfortable until we had more than a 21-point lead. It might have also been a confidence thing. 6. Josh Reed is the only receiver who comes back to the ball consistently, I liked Steve Johnson in there because he did it too. Lee is great and has great speed but he keeps going. That is what is wrong with our receiving corps, they all need to come back more when they can't get open and get IN FRONT of coverage, if for no other reason than Trent needs to see that to feel comfortable. Actually, I don't know what to do with Parrish. He is fast and a great runner but how can we get him the ball in the open? Why does he seem to get no separation to get open? I don't get it. 7. We played a team really full of rookies with a crap coach. I hope it helped the confidence level on the team. We really needed this win to stay in the season, we need the rest of the year to be good, to look at this year in a positive light IMO. 8. Those games the Pats* and the Fins in TO are looking very, very BIG now.
  24. agree with you buftex, he was hard to watch for a while though. I hope he can keep up his level of play in the coming weeks. Except a couple of very visable big plays in the last few games he really was doing good anyway though ( I accept he is a rookie, I still like Corner too, he has some pretty good upside, as well ). One thing about his return ability, he has really improved, but he really has had a penchant since preseason for getting tackled by the last man to beat, the kicker. I wonder if he should be turning it out side a little sooner, when he finds some room. In any case it is nice to see him stepping up. Trent did good today and I do think he was clearly rattled the last few weeks. I hope he also gets better as we go on.
