  1. I agree, but think Ralph is too cheap and we would want to keep a lot of what has been built here for 3 years, so I don't see it happening, well maybe if we go 3/13.
  2. I think he was looking at who gets practice sqaud and who gets the axe. The Trent only was in there for 5 passes shift doesn't worry me yet. The Bills have some time and this board is full of Worrisome Wandas. If DJ comes out at the Seahacks game and says "I wish we had more time" I would be a bit surprised and upset but not until then.
  3. I think even if the team goes 7/9 again we will see Dick J. back. There may be a screaming for his head but I don't see the FO letting him go. If it is less than that he is seriously on the "hot seat" IMHO. I think it would be great to see a real coach again (I mean someone with a better track record and reputation) but I agree the FO (owner) is cheap in this regard. All this being said, if Bobby April's ST are as good as the last few years, I wouldn't be suprized to see him offered a better/different job somewhere (in bflo? can you say cheap smooth transistion?). Some interesting people will be available around the league too at the end of this year, if DJ can't light a fire under some of the playmakers butts. (Buffalo is kind of like Pittsburg was at one time, now there is an exheadcoach, who would be a good hire). but that would mean redoing the last three years and I doubt Mr. Wilson or most the fans have the taste to wait it out again and Pitt was always seemingly a QB short too (but at least they were winners). BTW, what was Marvs record before Bflo, was it 100 games? Maybe Dick will be fine. here is a link to another board that I found intersting when I was seaching Marvs records http://boards.buffalobills.com/showthread.php?p=1216087
  4. I just put you on the ignore all post from this poster button loser
  5. Damm, grammer police! I understood his post WTF? There, I have fixed that for you and BTW maybe he meant that Trent was playing both with and against the first team and JP the second.
  6. I can understand your point of view but hope you are wrong and so I can't quite agree. I would have like to see them pick up an Oline man or two, too . The Bills need to have a good running game that shoves the ball down another teams throat. The speed defenses that teams are running these days are small. A smash mouth line with a fullback could work (don't know if the Bills have the personal to do it but.....). The FO thinks that with the rule changes this year the game will go more towards the run, IMO (and I read it somewhere this year too LOL). TEs that catch and block are too hard to groom and I personally didn't like too many in the draft or FAs this year either. With the WRs we have now, I could see some good things happening but it depends on Trent's year. We really need to have Peters too!!!!!!!!! I hope your wrong about Stroud, looks like he may have a few years in him. We defineitly needed some bulk. I guess I think that with the snow games in Bflo. and Trent's inexperience they felt they needed to get a fullback. I hope ML and FJ can find some room behind Barnes and the plan works out. If it doesn't they get my ok to put them both in there and two tight ends if they need to, then we do have some playmakers on the turf (esply. if we pass to them in that formation). Believe me I share your concerns but hopefully yesterday was just practice and they won't suck by 3 weeks from now.
  7. :D give it a rest. I really hope the Bills dump him this season, just so we don't see 1000 more of these posts. I didn't join for a long time because of your type, Mr. og poster.
  8. Agreed I seem to remember somegame we played in once where a team used it against us and it worked
  9. relax! so he can't spell well. So :censored:ing what it is a decent post and I can read it. NE* not after a bye is good for a change
  10. yes I realize that but a real running QB like a Vick or Flutie was what I meant by rb (or a Lynch and dare I say it JP) and I understand the philosophy that you don't know what they are going to do, why do you think I don't? that is the reason 90% of offensive scheems work. The reason the Bills O looked like sh*t last year. The weakness is of course having a consistant running QB/RB type. Also ND did stop the wishbone that way but it wouldn't in fact be legal to do it that way in todays NFL. IMO Some team with the right personal could use it against a zone type D with success today because of the over commitment that each player has to his place on the field. The reason it was successful in the first place was it opened up the field by forcing a consentration of defenders in one place and then flipping or throwing or running in another place (direction). In other words they don't know what you are going to do and they are overcommited to where they are. A wishbone could force a break up of the zone. If the players stay where the are commited to be they will get beat by not reacting to the offensive concentration. I also think that a D has no option but to play this offence deep as they would get burned everytime they get beat. I agree that there is the weakness of 3 linemen but you can't expect every bump to work and dumping it off to a wide open guy is going to burn maybe 1 out of 3 times (which is really all you need). Also, it would be great to draw, off a blitz scheem with this. You need about 5 safety types to defend this well and consistanly. You would have to be in a prevent to insure you don't lose big yardage every 3-5 plays IMO. It looks like a prevent D so that is what you would have to use against it. Defense really has to mirror the offense to be effective. Not many Ds really have the personal to fight this without using the Punt or Kick off teamers. Coy Wire would be good at it. I wouldn't mind seeing a Bills team run this a bit if they got it down right (not so sure Trent would be the guy to do it though). Look what we did with the no-huddle 20 years ago. This would work in a no huddle, no time for the D to react. Total unexpected plays, cool. I really like it as a two minute formation, or a just throw it in to create unbalance sometimes thing. It creates space to play in. I also think the running game should make a bit of a come back in the next year or two because of the force out rule. I really think it is a big change that not many people realize is going to change the pass game a bit back to the defenses favor. I really like that the Bills decieded to go back to the fullback for this reason and a few others (we are a cold weather team, our OL is not all great etc.....) IMO power running is the future, but I also think unperdictabilty is a great asset as well. I would love to see the I formation sweep (Jackson has the running style for it more than Marshawn though) or play action dump to the RB. I really hope Turk is an imaginative guy. I really don't think Ds are too fast to run against, I think they need to be run over more and misdirected. they are fast and they are light now a days you have to play against their strengths to make it a weakness.
  11. I used to love walking up the stairs of the subway with that nice piece of ass right in my face. For that moment it was mine, they all are mine (actually I saw a comidain in NYC say it but it changed my pervspective)
  12. I hope someone makes the first move soon this game of wills is boring and I want him to learn the new playbook. That being said I don't see it happening. I hope the August 8th thing motivates him.
  13. I guess that the JP homers will call him on it. I vote to keep him in through thick and thin, he isn't JP in his 4th year. I hope for the best and will wait and see all season, if he can stay healthy.
  14. to the og poster, as they say, becareful what you wish for dingus!
  15. It sure is interesting, I had thought of four on the line before because that would be legal and create a lot of space (didn't know you could do 3). What is funny that it looks like a defense, so for that reason alone I would guess it could work kinda well. I would want a option type QB to get most of the snaps though and the 2 TEs would have to be big ones. It might be interesting to have a running back in that backfield, as well. No doubt this would be pretty hard to defense against with the right personal. it would work pretty well against teams not using a swarm type Tampa D (since it was invented to contain the spread) IMO. Definitely a good option on 3rd or 4th and long and it might be cool to use in a punting situation just to confuse and bewilder. I wonder why great football minds in the NFL don't use more off the wall formations IMO, a T(with 3 backs) would work pretty well against the way the Giants play (they just might be hard pressed to stop 3 fast backs with options) for instance and a strong I formation like we used in the days of OJ) would work against most Tampas (just look at how successful the other teams ran up the middle against the Bills last year, bad example I know but....). I think that some strong run type stuff has to be put out there now as most Ds are fast and swarm zone based, I think bowling them over is a good idea. Think about the Eletric co. running a sweep against the Bills now.
  16. Well that sucks. I just knew this was going to happen now the Jests are a bit more of a challenge. What did they give up for him? any word yet?
  17. I agree with you lancaster was always bad for traffic (my sister used to live there). I don't think that the City of Buffalo is going to use tracks that are there already to run metro trains on, they could have done that when they built the stupid thing in the first place. No one is going to take on the debt of buying the Bills and building a stadium. The state and the city will have to pay up or they will be outta there for sure (very sorry to say that). Might be nice to have them located in Niagara Falls on the Canada side IMO and open your Bills hall of fame and excetra on the US side or visa versa. If they were to build I think that would be the best plan but this is all pipe dreaming. I think the city state and all would be best severed by a rectractable roof on the Ralph and a nice remodeling. The rockpile worked way past its day and we built Ralph way before the economy went so far south, so I don't think they should (or will) take on the debt again for building a new one. It is a sunken stadium and would be easy to put a roof over pretty cheap. Also a lot more would be willing to sit in relative comfort meaning more revenue (sorry all you cold weather, no dome fans just my humble opinion). Build more Luxy boxes and give TO corps. a slight discount, Ralph becomes servicable. They would also be smart to some kind of high speed transport to get there from TO, IDK, Jet blue or something simular discount charter tailgater flights?
  18. My first post, been lurking for years. My prediction is they have a long term problem that won't get solved and we will be lucky to see Peters this season, they both seem to think they have a strong position. I don't see Ralph caving in this. Maybe we will be lucky and Peters will, but I think not either. The Bills have a good blocking fullback again now and a TE to line up on the right or left. They may still suck w/o Peters in there though. This will play out one way or another on Friday. We will see who is the more serious party after the deadline. I think both sides are well aware of the tunafish over paying the rook and the Bills are open to doing a new deal but Peters will not to play, comes in to it here. That is where the rich owners screwed themselves in the CBA. This IMHO has to be about numbers and the biggest real problem is the cash to the cap policy. Which I happen to think is a good one. If the Bills get good though in the next couple of years, they are going to have problems just like the 90s team did. (Watch out in 09-10, 10-11 rich owners will f#%k that up for sure) Ralphie knows it and thats why he was sooooo against the CBA. All that being said we are a better team with Jason Peters in there so I hope they can get talking with him soon. For everyone who says JP get into camp well it would be a holdout then and his leverage is gone at that point. I can just hear Brandon saying oh yeah, we'll talk, we'll talk....... I hope that something can be done and the sooner the better. I also think part of this rests on how much Evans gets. I think they will have to forcefully keep anglo crowell which is a pity because he is very good and he will be gone after (although his final year he will be paid pretty well).
