If we are going to have a chance of beating the Eagles and their high powered office, we are going to need a "light's out" performance from Merriman. The guy looked dominant in the preseason...what happened?
I used to live in NY and had some orthodox jewish friends that told me they would never buy a Mercedes Benz. This struck me as extreme but in a way I can kind of see the unforgiving nature over what their ancestors suffered during WWII. I now wonder if they would attend a games at the Superdome?
McGee is a solid CB when healthy but is too often injured and can't be relied upon any longer.
McKelvin is simply an average NFL CB playing no where near his 1st round status. The guy is always a 1/2 step behind in coverage.
Don't know much about Williams. The only play I've seen of him was getting burned for a TD by at TE on the Patriots.
McKelvin was the highest rated corner in the draft at the time and the Bills were preparing for the loss of J. Greer. He also was touted for his skills returning kicks. Mike Mayock predicted McKelvin would be a pro-bowler.
Dareus is a space eater. He won't get alot of tackles, he won't get many sacks. His job is to push the guy in front of him into the backfield. Solid but never spectacular. What he does will never show up in the box score
I like our chances especially against a rookie QB starting his 4th game. Not in my wildest dreams did I think the Bills would be 4-0 but it's likely...and they would have to completely implode in a Jauron-like fashion not to make the playoffs starting 4-0.
Thanks so much for sharing. That is my fondest sports memory of all-time. I was a sophomore in college and remember watching the game in my dorm room in Florida. My 3 roomates were not bills fans but were amused by the emotion I exhibited all game. The front page of the USA Today sport section had a picture of Smerlas and the headlines read "Block Fills the Bill." Awesome stuff.
