So, sticking with the original tariffs is deliberately running the economy into the ground and renegotiating to one that works for both sides is chickening out? Got it. I get not liking the tariffs, but creating a scenario where you are impossible to please regardless of any result just makes a person a troll.

This can't be true. I heard people say the tariffs would cause runaway inflation if not hyper inflation! Surely this is a mistake -

Now that Joshy isn't a V anymore, is he going to lose his edge? No more running hard? -

Yeah the Yankees are not in the Dodgers class. If NYY can get by the Tigers and win the AL they need to hope that San Diego or some other team who the Dodgers can't get erect for knocks them out in a 5 game series. The Yanks bring out the best in the Dodgers because LA is obscenely talented and deep but only beating the most storied franchise on the planet can get them focused enough to play to their talent. The Yanks aren't on that level because Hal Steinbrenner and Cashman use the "it works for the AL Central" model of just doing enough to get to the playoffs. This maximizes profit because the stadium is virtually sold out regardless now(unlike in the George era when fans would stay away if the team wasn't great). Their payroll is high relative to the rest of the league that aren't the Dodgers........but so much of that is sunk costs like DP LePew, Junkelbows Stanton, Aaron Hicks etc.. 1970's and 1990's-2000's George wouldn't accept being just good enough to win if he was this close. He wouldn't knowingly go into the season with one guy in the starting lineup with .500 OPS level talent like they have so often at positions like 3B or LF over the last decade. If they had 9 good starters they'd add Daryl Strawberry and Tim Raines to the bench. In the 1970's they did exactly what the Dodgers are doing now. George had a 4 man rotation with 8 highly paid starting pitchers under contract so that when 4 of them were injured they still had starting pitching for days. George would sign good starters from the Reds, Dodger and Red Sox in hopes of getting performance but also to weaken their competition. Sparky Lyle just won the Cy Young award? Go out and sign the next best, younger reliever in Rich Gossage and make him the closer. 1980's George got caught up in the collusion era and took the kind of half measures his son Hal is now......but for different reasons.........and that's why they couldn't win a WS. We may look back in hindsight on these Dodgers teams and not remember just how much talent they've acquired because guys like Snell and Glasnow may never be healthy but they've really stacked the deck and the Yankees should be doing the same thing. They don't have an excuse not to. They generate more revenue, they are a far bigger global brand etc..

IT’S WAY PAST TIME FROM THE SIXTIES: It’s Way Past Time to Defund PBS and NPR. This week, PBS launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration, claiming that their First Amendment rights to free speech are being infringed. This follows a nearly identical suit filed by NPR last week. The claim is absurd. No one is trying to stop people at these networks from speaking, we just don’t want to fund them with tax dollars. It’s funny, we have been told for years that federal tax dollars make up a small portion of their funding, but when a Republican president finally decides to yank it, they act like it’s the end of the world. https://legalinsurrection.com/2025/05/its-way-past-time-to-defund-pbs-and-npr/

I would be surprised if all five of the starters on the O-Line weren't there, they are Josh's bodyguards. -
November 2026 The Mid-Terms

Jasmine Crockett Was Asked About the 2026 Dem Midterm Playbook. Her Answer Was a Disaster. Matt Vespa I still do not know who at the national party headquarters thinks having this woman do endless media is good. But when your enemy is drowning—throw him an anvil, not a life jacket. The Democrats will keep being stuck in the meat grinder with Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) at the helm. Also, I know some are panicking or had some pause about the poll showing Democrats with a healthy lead in the congressional ballot for the 2026 midterms. First, it’s too early. Second, if the Democrats trot out stuff like this, they’re going to lose. Crockett was asked by Fox 4 Dallas/Fort Worth about the midterm playbook, and it was not a good answer. It's messy, but the theme is the same: Democrats are talking down to people again. They're going to step on that landmine again. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2025/05/31/jasmine-crockett-was-asked-about-the-2026-dem-midterm-playbook-her-answer-was-a-disaster-n2657913 -

I prefer to wait to see what they post on their Instagram feeds. I loved seeing the dress though . And it is natural to want to see who is there. Sometimes you have a ceremony and the reception has more people. depends on how small or big they want to go They don't need to worry about finances clearly. I love that her dress was not puffy or Cinderella. It fits her style perfectly. She has amazing style from what I have seen IMO Based on both of their busy schedules I'm sure this date was chosen carefully. This so me is like a royal wedding. I mean seriously. -

This chat is going through a culture shock of non-buffalo events having infinitely less alcoholics. I knew I was an alcoholic in Buffalo, then I moved and realized exactly how unhealthy that cities relationship is with booze lol I live near a bar and am always shocked to see the crowds start leaving from 10-11p. When I drank, we were just finishing up pre-gaming at a house LOL Columbian Marching Powder would get the bullpen call right about midnight! Weaklings! Thank God I got sober lol def would've missed out on seeing Buff get a ring -

I live in an area with a lot of immigrants and first generation Americans and the trash analogy is very true. My low intelligent students, regardless of background, will often leave trash behind or write all over the desk, despite my providing paper whenever requested. As a reward I will buy donuts for classes that perform well on the final test, this year I had over 200 total donuts for the kids, and the only kids who did not clean up after themselves were the kids who did not perform well but were rewarded because their classmates did well. I will be redoing my incentives next year because I refuse to clean up a streak of chocolate icing along a desk because a kid was too lazy to use a napkin.
