I find it encouraging that when Josh was hammered and was lying on the ground churning his legs in what looked like some sort of neurological injury, he was really OK and was saying to himself "just get through this game, then you can watch the premier of the Hallmark movie this weekend."

I have 2 other options: 1. Our atmosphere totally evaporates, leaving the scorched earth you mentioned 2. Our sun, a star, burns out, leaving us in darkness and ice. Of course, if the sun burns out, that may also eliminate its magnetism and the pull of planets in their orbits. Those of that survive may then find out if it’s all just space out there, or that the earth lands on something.

Bills are Fool's Gold: Intentions Versus Results
Ray Stonada replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
@Wizard it's great to have your thoughts... we get used to the declining level of play like frogs in a slowly heating pot... But yeah combined to the Bills of 2020-2023, we look a lot different. Defense playing small and much slower. Josh's confidence has been affected. Remember in 2020 when he had NEVER had a turnover in the red zone? Offensive playcalling is very predictable which means we tend to lose when the other team's defense is any good. I can't remember the last time we lined up in a formation and DIDN'T run the play we always run out of that formation. We do have 7 wins because we have Allen, Cook, and an O line that can look dominant. Happy Thanksgiving and let's hope the Bills can make some adjustments! - Today

They absolutely screwed up super bowl 25 but that Washington team was like this years Texans defense with the eagles offense last year. It's considered by many as the greatest team ever for 1 year. They literally would've gone undefeated if not for an Alvin Harper hail Mary.... The 91 Washington team was just ridiculous. Tasker said afterwards it was the greatest team he ever played against I still think if they don't turn it over they win SB 28 which would've been pretty glorious for those guys. Shyt happens. Incredible team and memories I will never forget. The 92 comeback validated everything about their true greatness Unfortunately this bills team reminds me almost in identical fashion to the moon oilers but just a longer version and got a little further with two AFC championship appearances

We *hope* he has 16 years on him. But that's not a guarantee. Especially with the style of play he has. As far as similar type running QB's that take punishment go, Roethlisberger made it 16 seasons. But he was pretty much toast after 14. Cam became toast after 9. Russ also became toast after 9. Obviously, Josh is a better QB than both of them and speed (and losing speed) was more of a factor with them than it is with Josh.

Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard
Kelly to Allen replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
As cynical as everyone is including myself You would be crazy to not take a lottery ticket with Allen in the playoffs this year with how the AFC looks Numerous teams have been in worse shape to go on a run I personally thought we would win 10 games and lose in the wildcard or maybe the divisional after watching the falcons game. But anything can happen. -
I was at the game and let me tell you what was happening downfield
SunDSolar replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your OL is struggling, your HOF QB is getting killed and these are the routes your OC is calling every pass play. I mean look at all these plays, he has our WR running these 2nd/3rd tier concept routes. This is just god awful and could of led to Josh getting seriously hurt. BRADY HAS TO GO -
This makes me feel better, that Jim Kelly is seeing this and is frustrated just like us! Please get us a real playcaller!

Tyrell Shavers reminds me of John Stallworth....
Ray Stonada replied to Kelly to Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure that was Shavers' fault as much as the Texans D and the fact he didn't see the field much. -
Free will is a human condition, not unique to Catholics, at least since Adam and Eve. The free will that the Catholic Church advocates does not extend to certain choices, like certain sinning or abortion, regardless of what individuals claim. Catholic doctrine is that a fetus is a life, and you can't justify taking that life. It isn't a "free will" option. You either are, or you aren't. You either .live by the doctrine or you don't.

Maybe not long-developing plays, like those HD mesh concepts, which Brady is in love with? Especially considering that it's about the entirety of the extent of what he calls. Oh, and those WR screens to the left 🙄 If you're opponent is 100% aware of what your play is going to be, it makes their job THAT much easier. They effing KNEW when Buf was ligned up in mesh, and they just pinned their ears back an came after Josh, no need to hesitate for a potential run play nor a RB swing. NOTHING to keep Hou honest Against the caliber of defense Buf was up against, a creative OC could have a myriad of concepts in order to counter Yet, crosser/rub route after crosser/rub route. It takes OVER 3 seconds for the primary target to come open and, because of the above-mentioned, Hou was in Josh's face BEFORE he was done with dropping back (in about 1.5 seconds) Brady is a fool and he got his lunch money ripped out of his hands on Thursday

What will the aliens say when they see Allen playing in old highlights in conjunction with what they know about McDermott?

Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard
P Riv replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that NE isn't winning a SB this year, their OL is average and half rookies. As for next year, they have 11 picks in the draft and the most cap space in the league (I think). I don't think they're going any where for a while. Our window is still open, but they're also in it with us now like the Ravens/Steelers rivalry for the past 10 years. -
The bills if I remember correctly had 1 pass behind the line of scrimmage vs Tampa. The -3 yds to shakir Vs the Texans the behind the line passes increased, and they didn't have a legitimate pass over 20 air yards until the Gabe play late. It's just my speculation but I'm guessing McDermott wasn't comfortable with the offensive identity in the Tampa game and wanted to go back to the 12-15 play drive stuff. And yet everything they feared would happen vs the Texans was actually counterintuitive and still happened " What you fear you attract" " What you fear to lose, will be lost" Yoda - " train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose "
-
I think we're getting to the point where we should just write off this season and hope a disastrous end will cause Beane to take a very hard look at rebuilding this offense by investing in some genuine WRs in the draft and FA. A new offensive coordinator would be nice too (there's zero chance McDermott goes anywhere)

Looked to me like we were sending guys long a lot. Either Josh didn't have time for them to get downfield or they couldn't get open or both. personally I wonder who made the decision to NOT put in a TE and/or keep a RB in the backfield to help block.

"someone give me hope" In around a billion years the sun's luminosity will increase to such a level that it will lead to a runaway greenhouse effect, causing the evaporation of the oceans and rendering the earth uninhabitable. So every Bills loss, Patriots cheat and Chiefs win will become meaningless as there will be nobody alive to remember them. And if an alien race does one day come down and explore the dried up husk that is planet earth, when they research this strange game called football they will find there was once a player nicknamed Josh Alien, who they will assume was the first of their kind to visit the planet. he will be made their own version of Jesus and the Bills logo will be the symbol they wear on their chests like a superman sign (hey, he's also nicknamed superman - it all fits!).
-
As mentioned, the AFC is wide open. The Texans loss can potentially help ensure KC doesn't get in, especially if they beat them in Arrowhead in a few weeks. The eternal optimist in me says (borderline delusionary) that we can get healthy come playoff time and go on a run.
-
That's actually a good question. He has an abdominal issue and lingering concussion symptoms (which was the official designation for his IR). I have to imagine it was a Tyler Bass type issue where he's probably good to go, we just didn't need him with RVD and Lundt behind Dawkins and Brown. But maybe now they consider returning him from IR now.

Tyrell Shavers reminds me of John Stallworth....
BillsFanForever19 replied to Kelly to Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall
That tends to happen when you aren't getting open. Every pass play has options. -
I was laughing so hard at this. I actually needed a good laugh lol
