  1. Past hour
  2. It was only about masks. None of that other stuff counted. The stuff like mom and pop had to be shut down but Walmart didn’t. The stuff like “sorry, you can’t be with your dying parent”. All good.
  3. The question posed to the university presidents was “Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Harvard’s rules on bullying and harassment?” I suspect the president’s would have answered in the affirmative for many other favored groups mentioned rather than Jews. Hard to believe they lost their jobs, isn’t it?
  4. You're right that Iran has a history of nuclear deception - that’s exactly why the JCPOA was created: to impose strict limits and inspections. The deal wasn’t based on trust but on verifiable containment, and the IAEA confirmed Iran’s compliance until Trump unilaterally withdrew in 2018, with no alternative in place. That move freed Iran from restrictions, accelerated enrichment, and gave us less visibility, not more. The Israeli raid in 2018 confirmed past weapons work but didn’t prove active violations of the deal. Abandoning diplomacy gave Iran space to advance - smart policy means constraining adversaries, not cutting loose the only tools we have to monitor them.
  5. Congratulations to the Knox family!! Almost 5 minutes and no dropping the baby joke?! The standards on this message board are slipping 😀

  7. Sorry, I can't help it! But seriously: some of these things are legal issues. We don't like someone's message. Should we censor it? Punish it? Or should we just live with it, criticize it, but accept it based on higher free speech values.
  8. The EU sure can come up with alot of *****. Unfortunately.
  9. so you are saying the law should not allow a suit to be filed after 2 years or are you saying the case has no merit? Most such cases will settle before court anyway. Either way the plaintiff gets “their day in court court” in that the defendant must respond. In discovery, they both can make their case in deposition no one is arguing that people lie about facts that they can then sue over. this person filed a police report at the time, when this kid was essentially a nobody.
  10. So…not “illegals” then. Thanks for admitting your defeat at least.
  11. It is a response to a comment about the allegedly horrific infringements on our liberty from our COVID response. So I'm pointing out that some of the same people who refused to wear masks then insist on wearing masks now. Albeit for different reasons. Got it?
  12. It’s great to have an actual President again!!
  13. I think we could have won at least one of the SBs they won and 50/50 on one of the ones they lost
  14. What the hell does that comment have to do with anything????
  15. So half (50%) of the country pays 2.3% of the total federal income tax we collect and pay an effective tax rate of 3.3%. You think that is too high?
  16. I figured you were doing a "lawyer" thing, it sounds good on paper but is not reasonable
  17. People are acting like the devaluation of the dollar is necessarily bad or unexpected. Seems to me that it is the policy of the Trump Administration. It is Intro to Macroeconomics stuff that a devalued currency raises the cost of imports; all other things being equal, that should work to "improve" the balance of trade. It is a tariff by other means, plus it should also lower the cost of exports to foreign buyers. Economists can argue about whether the downside to a devalued dollar outweighs that. But I have to assume that the current administration's economists would think that a devalued dollar is a good thing. Here's an opinion from a noted economist that devaluation is a bad idea. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/may/07/why-donald-trumps-plan-to-weaken-the-dollar-is-flawed
