  1. Past hour
  2. You’re cool with taking away the healthcare and SNAP benefits of millions? Why?
  3. Car manufacturing is an extremely high tech industry lmfao
  4. I do purchasing for a small local company. We are looking for a new welder as we speak. Machining can be dirty and labor intensive, but they are still needed. Actually If I had a kid I would push them to go to trade school opossed to college.
  5. They’re all going to die because of republicans. The humanity! The overwroughtness!!
  6. Certainly, and I have great issues with how governments like San Fran address issues like policing. Dems have to find a good niche between John Kerry and AOC. Newsome signing the bill gutting CEQR for most housing developments is a good start. He needs to continue to ignore the plague of nonprofits that were abusing the law to stop any new development anywhere.
  7. John Goodman in Barton Fink. Incredible performance
  8. You believe a modern factory is wretched and dangerous, huh? Is automobile manufacturing considered pitiful work? Machinists are pitiful people? Welders? Desk jobs are where it’s at. Factories bad! I feel badly for you despite your self-proclaimed empathy. Your parents and educators have failed you.
  9. There's a lot of stuff in the bill I like. Never a fan of cutting the social safety net though which this bill actually does. I'd rather have more people abuse the system then let a few needy fall through the cracks.
  10. As stated, it’s a bill that will overwhelmingly affect the rural MAGA poor. The “I told you so” will be astronomical. For example, this town was a Trump +74 vote. They can get exactly what they voted for. Do you want to compete with China? They’re kicking our ass in green technology. We should be dumping trillions into that sector. Biden did!
  11. I won’t dismiss this entirely, but Safety is the main driver of what I listed. Even Atlanta, a blue city, is incredibly pro-police. Ever since the BLM riots, this city has poured money into policing, both in Midtown and in Buckhead - who threatened to secede from Atlanta and form its own municipality if pro-police reforms weren’t enacted. Brian Kemp and Democrat leaders, together, have worked to make Atlanta a safe area to raise a family. There are areas that aren’t great.. but that’s kind of how it goes down south. The R/D leadership alike protect those who want to be protected and in the small number of areas that reject policing .. they make sure it doesn’t spread into areas that welcome it.
  12. Imagine thinking it's either high tech or the equivalent of the gulag. Roundy you are clearly showing you are a government employee. Good god. Bro, do you think every manufacturing job is the equivalent to the coal mines?
  13. Rams vs broncos would be b-rated fun
  14. It’s called being a Karen that believes they know what’s best for everyone in every situation. The days news seems to have upset you. Hang in there. I suspect it will get worse for you. Let’s check back in at the end of the year for a recap.
  15. All of this, besides weather of course, stems from affordable housing. Housing is security, community, and wealth. It is the most important issue facing the world today.
  16. 1. Nicholson - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 2. Hackman - The Firm 3. Pesci - Casino 4. Dangerfield - Caddyshack 5. Liotta - Goodfellas
  17. From my experience, owning a business that deals with a lot of transplants to NC, SC and GA.. this is the case. Relatively cheaper housing, as opposed to NY/NJ, is usually a pleasant addition to their move, but it’s primarily due to: -Politics -Safety -Better place to start a family -Weather -Culture
  18. That’s some very weird projection but okay. No American citizen should have to work in wretched and dangerous factories in the modern era. It’s not some kind of noble profession, it’s pitiful, backbreaking work. Strive to improve society.
  19. Revisited this thread and what do I see. @Mr. WEO in 4 separate arguments.
  20. It’s getting more and more difficult for you to hide your racism, big guy.
  21. Who is we? Because you don’t seem to have any issue with brown people coming over and doing these jobs. Should I understand your post correctly as to mean “white people” should strive for better jobs? I mean, that’s the true position of elitist libs, but just asking for you to clarify.
  22. It’s called “empathy” Theres no reason a first world nation should have people working in filthy, decrepit factories making asbestos
  23. For some. For others it’s climate, tax, political leadership, people, folks in search of a better life.
