After the Cook Jets run.. it’s hard to not fine the ball to the Bills most explosive player. Davis has also a poor run average from either running out the clock in Jets game. Or short down and distance plays. But as of yet Davis hasn’t had any explosive plays. I think they will come. It’s a long season and Cook’s usage over the next few weeks might be bit lighter vs Saints Panthers type teams.
-
Another reason it's not West Coast: that system had many timing patterns. The QB takes his 3, 5 or 7 step drop and routes are timed to the drop so when the QB hits his last step -- Boom-- the ball comes out to the timed route that's open.
-
Sorry I did forget Grable. That is an interesting one. Have to wonder if they just leave him on IR for this year. Lundt might be able to sneak through waivers. Also I wonder with how well Hawes is playing if they decide that Anderson is expendable. He is not on the field much any more. I like this idea a lot. However it takes two to trade. If you were another GM what would you offer? To me I think he is terrible and not exactly cheap either so I wouldn't part with even a low round draft pick. Now maybe there is a team like Titans or Carolina with lots of cap space that would be willing to take him on fir a 7th round pick.
-
I'm sure everybody knows, but the West Coast offense is a language/system for calling plays, originally employing a philosophy of moving the chains by stretching the field horizontally using a short passing game. Early proponents of the West Cost did not tend to rely on the run, but mixed it in to contribute to the general strategy. As it has evolved, there are coaches using the West Coast terminology who actually like running the ball and/or mixing in a deep passing game. Anybody can avoid a deep passing game. Buffalo, of course, uses Erhardt-Perkins terminology and Brady certainly likes running the ball.
-
I think one aspect of the Miami game that was an aberration on offense was the lack of designed run plays for Josh and Josh's reluctance to run after scrambling, which I think was a direct result of trying to protect from further problems with his nose injury.

Eventually comes BACK? Again this is something the left was warned about over and over when they were doing it during the Biden years. They didn't care. We already told YOU that you wouldn't like it when the tables were turned. We all already know the left will continue to do what they started when they come back to power. There will be zero surprise, it will be like sun rising in the eastern blue sky. Unless of course those who did it under Biden are actually held to account, then maybe they'll think twice about doing it again. We shall see. -
The bills always seem keyed in on the storylines that exist thru the season and I bet now that his usage and effectiveness are being questioned that they’ll dial up a few ray davis special plays next week against the saints.
-
Yes I agree but that’s a long way away. Unfortunately inevitable injuries may resolve the problem for them. Example MM isn’t going on IR unless it’s long term. But some of the vets have significant cap implications and cutting them is a financial issue.
-
I am curious about that as well. I don't have All-22, but it seemed like on our bread & butter zone runs where Cook normally takes a cutback lane they had backside defenders able to knife down the line and catch Cook from behind before he got rolling. I think that is why Brady went with a few toss plays down the stretch to try to get the ball to Cook on the outside in space, but it seemed like they were looking for that and turned those runs back inside towards pursuit. I am confident there is nothing that Kromer has not seen before and they come up with a counter for that. Perhaps some kind of wham concept to plant that backside pursuer into the turf.
-
Why? Brady and Josh are intelligent enough to not take the bait and throw deep into coverage. He’s seen that D scheme so often he’s expert at throwing it to whoever is open. They may not execute perfectly every game. For example Josh missed Shavers and even Kincaid for a TD in the Jets game. But that’s execution, they seem to be able to make this work. Josh has even said he’s way more patient and won’t just throw deep because he certainly wants to. He will when it’s open but not force it.

Acknowledged and explained troll -
when something is working no need to change, we have become a run 1st team which I'm good with, keeps Allen healthy, I wish they would fix there short yardage plays or play calling, Josh isn't getting it down with these hurry up so called sneaks,
-
Well you have to cut someone to bring those three back to the roster. So either you cut the PED guys or someone on the current roster needs to go
-
3 games into the season, 3 rookie DL and two FA DL on suspension - I think thinking’s will improve as the rookies gain some experience and Hoecht and Ogunjobi return. Pass rush needs a little help in the form of pass coverage. Playing soft zone due to secondary personnel doesn’t help the rush at all.
-
That guy for the Dolphins that gave us fits was kind of like that. He would have looked great in a Bills uni. EDIT: Ollie Gordon II...rookie, 6'1, 225lbs.
-
I try to trade AJ when Hoecht comes back

How did we get to the point where this women can complain about this attack while ignoring the thousands of rapes in reverse? Obviously it is openly racist and she expects more from White men than from men of her own race. -

As expected... The typical lefty zombies refuse to accept or even acknowledge the Smith Mundt Modernization Act... Predictable... -
While I agree with you, I also haven't heard anyone describe what happened in the second half. We were much less successful running the ball...I figured it was because they were loading the box more, but if that's the case, where were the openings in the defense? I'm also a little bit (only a little bit) concerned about our offensive line's pass blocking. I think this is one of the best OLs in the league, but I think at least part of the problem, even if it's a small part, is that they're not giving Josh the time for those intermediate and long routes to develop. He was under some pressure in that game.

Let’s play a fun game and list all the NFL teams that do not have some type of need(s) as perceived by their fans. Well, THAT was fun! You do the best you can with what you have, and you never have everything you want. Yes, we have some thin spots for sure, but overall I like our roster and potential.

Why do you never explain your positions, Rosie? Too dumb to formulate your own thoughts? -
Agree - I said we were predictable on most of our running plays, but that is not really anything new this season. We have lined up in 13 personnel and dared teams to stop our runs and many times they can't - even when they know they are coming. Hard to fault Brady for making teams prove they can beat our run blocking and Cook's abilities behind that. Would be nice to see a few more play-action passes to the TE down the seam on those plays - just to keep them honest. Perhaps if our defense could come up with a few more stops on 3rd and long we would not be talking about an offense that puts up 30+ points a week. Give my poor heart the games where we bury them early and Trubisky comes in for mop-up duty
-
no we are not running west coast offense, in a west coast your QB is under center 98% of the time and you have a fullback in the backfield, we are running a hybrid type of scheme, really no particular system, I would say its a more read option , even Daboll didn't run a true system, he was suppose to run a Erhardt Perkins system which it wasn't, over the years OCs run a majority of there plays out of the shotgun, if any label used I would say read option.
