That's easy to think until you break down the numbers but there's no world where spagnola is a better defensive coach than Sean McDermott Both have been head coaches or defensive coordinators for 16 years Spagnola has put out plenty of bad defenses in his career when he doesn't have great pieces.. and it works really well when he has pieces Sean McDermott is way more consistent whether you give him tremendous pieces or sixth round picks Spagnola has five top 10 defenses for yards... McDermott has nine... +3 Sean Spagnola has seven top 10 in points.. McDermott has 6.. still +2 Sean Spagnola has four top 10 defenses for takeaways... McDermott has 14... Including eight top five... +12 Sean now Spagnola has four top 10 rushing defenses Sean has six... +14 Sean Spagnola has six top 10 defenses for passing touchdowns allowed Sean has eight... +16 Sean We severely underate Sean McDermott and what he does and how he develops players spagnola literally with not great players has bad defenses..
