Speaking at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday, coach Dick Jauron said the team has been in contact with Peters’ agent and added “we’re trying to get something done.”

I do not see what the use is? They could sign an extension, JP get the bonus money and STILL hold out.

I'm glad to hear it.

In the article it says Vincent Taylor is his agent.

????

I thought it was Eugene Parker

Peters got pissed when he heard Parker was holding out for more money, so he cut him. Now that would be funny.

Every player could do that. Maybe they should play it safe, and not sign anyone.

Very, very interesting news about the replacement of Parker with Taylor. Here's the only reference I could find via google (admittedly, I didn't look too hard; it's from 2006):

# Texas fullback Ahmard Hall will sign a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, and the deal could be done as early as Friday morning, according to Hall's agent, Vincent Taylor.

They are both his agents. Nothing has changed from last year.

?? - According to Bucky Gleason, Taylor was his previous agent, and Peters fired him and replaced him with Parker.

"He should also redirect his anger. His contempt should be for his former agent, Vincent Taylor, who unlike management failed to see the potential in his client. The Bills should be given credit for locking up a prospect and molding him into a Pro Bowl left tackle.

Peters’ current agent, power hitter Eugene Parker, isn’t doing Peters any favors either by advising his client to stay home. Peters can sit and pout, but he’s not helping himself or his team. Every day away from training camp is another day of silence, another opportunity for someone else and another $15,000 down the drain. Today, he’ll move past $60,000 in fines for unexcused absences from training camp."

While I suppose it is possible, Parker and Taylor work for two different firms. It's not unusual for a player to be represented by one agent from a firm, and then sometimes have a different agent, from the same firm, cited or quoted. But, isn't it sort of odd to have two agents from two different firms representing one player in contract talks?

Maybe he want to play "good agent", "bad agent" with Bills?

ya, I agree, but check out SI's Dr Z from the 2008 training camp

The Bills have a new offensive coordinator, Turk Schonert, with a new system, with different line calls and everything. Not easy to pick up. Peters' agent, Eugene Parker, is a hardball type of guy. I can't tell you about his second agent, Vincent Taylor. One tough one is enough. And in the blue corner, weighing in at 175 pounds, is, well, Russ Brandon. Remember him?

Peters has not commented publicly on his holdout. His agents, Eugene Parker and Vincent Taylor, have not returned calls from the Associated Press.

looks like he's been getting advice from both for a while...

Very interesting. Like I said, it's possible (but very strange).

This may be a good sign, as they may have recognized that Parker got nowhere last year, and perhaps doesn't have the best working relationship/mutual trust with the Bills' FO.

It's certainly unusual, but some big-time clients do it that way to kind of get the best out of both agents. Ultimately he is doling out 3% to these guys. Splitting them evenly and giving each 1.5% will still net both agents a solid pay day... if I remember correctly, Moulds had a similar arrangement with two different agents.
