Julius Jones possible trade bait....

Thats one more thing that he does better, plus he is faster and runs harder than WM. If there were no Barber he would have ridiculous numbers.

Have you watched Julius Jones ever just curious? Runs harder?

Year Team G GS Att Yds Avg Lg TD 20+ 1st

2004 Dallas Cowboys 8 7 197 819 4.2 53 7 4 44

2005 Dallas Cowboys 13 12 257 993 3.9 51 5 4 47

2006 Dallas Cowboys 16 16 267 1084 4.1 77 4 5 43

TOTAL 37 35 721 2896 4.0 77 16 13 134

2004 Buffalo Bills 16 11 284 1128 4.0 41 13 10 64

TOTAL 46 40 868 3365 3.9 57 24 18 183

So Julius Jones has 469 less yards 8 less tds 5 less runs of 20+ yards, and 49 less runs for 1st downs.

TOTAL 46 40 68 503 7.4 56 0 2 1 22

On 7 more receptions mcgahee has 34 more yards receiving a better long reception. Less receptions for over 20 yards but 1 40+ yard to jones's none and 1 less 1st down.

Unless I'm missing something that's completly gone over my head I dont see anyway Julius Jones is better then Mcgahee or ever has been. He's managed to put up less stats with more offensive talent and a better coaching staff around him, but he's better football player because he's "just not willis"

Yeah the one thing you are missing is 8 more games!!

Plus a durable goal line back like Barber. Who gets the ball from the 10 yard line in. Do you watch any cowgirl games. Your stats arent even comparible. Especially when they have 2 great WR's and Tight end. And he still puts up decent numbers what does that tell you?

I think that further proves GuessWhozBack21's point, if you're alluding to Jones' durability problems.

The guy had a broken shouder. Thats not a durability problem. You dont mean to tell me that Willis isnt lying onthe ground for more than a minute at least twice a game. Please. Jones is a better back, face it. Willis cant get out of his own way.

how exactly is jones a better back? I mean, just a simple clarification for those of us who like to see things backed up with facts or anecdotes.

Screw facts and anecdotes. I'll settle for rumors and innuendo in this case.

Julius Jones for Willis McGahee? The only people that think that's a good trade are Cowboys fans...

Do you seriously need to ask this?

It's because Willis is a Bill and Jones is, well, not a Bill.

Duh!

All that says is julius jones isn't an every down back and that makes him better then a guy who is a 25-30 carry back how? Generally teams with more talent around them their skill position players will put up better stats. Jones has not been the most durable of runners and it's questionable if he's even better then Marion Barber. How exactaly does Julius Jones not being durable contribute to the fact that he's "better" then Willis?

Outside of a saints blowout victory julius jones had 1 td over the last 9 games. His ypc would also drip dramaticaly. Is that really what you call production out of a starting rb regardless of whether or not he came out inside the redzone. If he did that here he'd be turned on faster then Willis or Henry was.

Why trade a rb who is a 25-30 carry back for a guy who isn't? What does Julius Jones offer on the football field that McGahee isn't? The ability to not be an 25 carry back? Yeah he's faster then Willis but I just don't see the production warranting getting rid of McGahee for him. We're not getting anything beneficial in return, that merits a trade. Other then making the pitch fork crowd happy and needing to draft offensive line and another rb, because Jones can't be an everydown back. while taking on 2 new contracts for a split backfield. When we could just keep McGahee this year, improve the line and see what's what next season?

How about Mcgahee disappearing against any decent defense. The guy has career games against the worst rushing defenses in the league.

Had one of his best games of the season against the Vikes (#1 at the time) run defense. I was at the game. He ran hard and pushed the pile all day. He kept a couple drives alive with his efforts that day and allowed the Bills to stay alive. His TD run was all effort too. Don't bother showing me stats.

EDIT- He had another one of his best games against the Jags, a very highly regarded run defense.

How is Willis better? I can ask you the same stupid question. In my belief Jones is a better prospect than WM. I dont know what facts you want to bring into this. Guesswhozback already stepped on his crank by posting the stats. How do you match stats when WM played in 8 more games than Jones? Its not even fair.

So you believe Jones is a better prospect that McGahee...but if anyone asks you why you believe that, it's a stupid question.

Forget scouting. Clearly, you're GM material.
