Because EVH making a soundtrack for porn is so much better... "NSF" Eddie Doing The Soundtrack... They need to make it happen before they're both too damn old to make it happen. VH and Dave were the Kings at one point... we saw what happened in '96 when they hinted at getting back together. Not a bad thing unless you're a purist. I can recall just a few years ago being seen with a country artist was the height of uncool to the rock crowd. And a country artist collaborating with anyone outside of country music got you drummed out of the club. Waylon Jennings is spinning in his grave. Listen to vintage, classic rock, like, say, late 60's and early 70's Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Clapton...it borrows as much from country music as it does the blues... People like Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are just doing sort of what used to be considered adult contemporary pop...they don't please country purists, or real rock and rollers, but they really appeal to that middle of the road crowd. That is pretty much the rule in all entertainment these days... Has beens like Van Halen, the Cars, Journey etc etc are just starting to figure out what Nashville country artists have known for years...the middle of the road is where it's at...just come up with one or two top 10 hits, and you will be able to make a living touring for the rest of your life, record deal or not. No need to try to challange yourself artistically, just give the people the same old crap that they loved you for, and they will love you forever.... Pretty much the only time he played guitar in concert were on his songs or ocassionally on Jump or other songs where Eddie played keys.
