Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago As I was watching the game yesterday, I started to think about the number of times this team has given up 20+ points in the first half and thinking there has to be some sort of record set. Bills are the only team in NFL history to have a winning record (4-2) in six or more games where the opponent scored 20+ in the first half. The Jets are the only other team this year to have six such games and have a record of 1-5 in those games. To me this is another JA is the MVP stat. As a QB, if your opponent is spotted 20 points in the first half, whether you trail or lead, that means you are certainly facing some sort of adversity for the majority of the second half. You are feeling the pressure of a tight game or a game about to get away from you. And you are feeling this pressure for at least an entire half of football.
Rk Team Season Count W L T WL%V 1 BUF 2025 6 4 2 0 .667 2 NOR 2016 8 4 4 0 .500 3 SEA 1995 6 3 3 0 .500 4 DET 2011 6 3 3 0 .500 5 IND 2012 7 3 4 0 .429 6 BUF 1975 6 2 4 0 .333 7 RAM 1992 6 2 4 0 .333 8 DAL 2020 7 2 5 0 .286 9 DEN 1963 8 1 6 1 .188 10 CLE 1975 6 1 5 0 .167 11 DET 1984 6 1 5 0 .167 12 MIA 1988 6 1 5 0 .167 13 NOR 2001 6 1 5 0 .167 14 OAK 2004 6 1 5 0 .167 15 DET 2009 6 1 5 0 .167 16 CHI 2013 6 1 5 0 .167 17 MIN 2013 6 1 5 0 .167 18 MIA 2017 6 1 5 0 .167 19 TAM 2018 6 1 5 0 .167 20 ATL 2019 6 1 5 0 .167 21 ARI 2023 6 1 5 0 .167 22 WAS 2023 6 1 5 0 .167 23 NYJ 2025 6 1 5 0 .167 24 NYG 1980 7 1 6 0 .143 25 RAI 1988 7 1 6 0 .143 26 SEA 2000 7 1 6 0 .143 27 DET 2020 8 1 7 0 .125 28 CAR 2024 10 1 9 0 .100 29 DET 2008 10 0 10 0 .000 30 BAL 1981 8 0 8 0 .000 31 TAM 2011 8 0 8 0 .000 32 CRD 1954 7 0 7 0 .000 33 HOU 1966 7 0 7 0 .000 34 PIT 1968 7 0 7 0 .000 35 NYJ 1976 7 0 7 0 .000 36 BAL 1978 7 0 7 0 .000 37 BUF 1984 7 0 7 0 .000 38 ATL 1996 7 0 7 0 .000 39 CIN 1998 7 0 7 0 .000 40 CIN 2002 7 0 7 0 .000 41 SDG 2003 7 0 7 0 .000 42 MIA 2007 7 0 7 0 .000 43 STL 2008 7 0 7 0 .000 44 JAX 2013 7 0 7 0 .000 45 CHR 1948 6 0 6 0 .000 46 DTX 1952 6 0 6 0 .000 47 CRD 1958 6 0 6 0 .000 48 OAK 1961 6 0 6 0 .000 49 DEN 1964 6 0 6 0 .000 50 ATL 1966 6 0 6 0 .000 51 ATL 1967 6 0 6 0 .000 52 BOS 1970 6 0 6 0 .000 53 HOU 1973 6 0 6 0 .000 54 NOR 1975 6 0 6 0 .000 55 MIN 1984 6 0 6 0 .000 56 HOU 1984 6 0 6 0 .000 57 DET 1987 6 0 6 0 .000 58 SDG 1997 6 0 6 0 .000 59 CIN 1999 6 0 6 0 .000 60 ARI 2002 6 0 6 0 .000 61 SFO 2004 6 0 6 0 .000 62 SFO 2006 6 0 6 0 .000 63 TEN 2009 6 0 6 0 .000 64 JAX 2015 6 0 6 0 .000 65 SFO 2015 6 0 6 0 .000 66 ARI 2018 6 0 6 0 .000 67 NYJ 2020 6 0 6 0 .000 68 JAX 2021 6 0 6 0 .000
Provided by "Stathead":https://www.sports-reference.com/sharing.html?utm_source=direct&utm_medium=Share&utm_campaign=ShareTool: "Found with Stathead. Sierra Foothills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I looked at the ESPN Gamecast at halftime and I think New England's win probability was about 88%. I read where Josh is still 3rd in the MVP race. Unless that changes it'll be as if yesterday never even happened. Incredibly, he probably won't win MVP this year even though we all know he's the most deserving by a long ways. 1 Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Crazy. In the history of the NFL, theres only 25 teams ever that have given up 20+ points in the 1st half more than the 2025 Bills. And we’ve only played 14 games which probably normalizes the pre 1980’s teams. Quote

BuffaloRebound Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Just fire Babich already. It’s mcdermott’s defense, but we tend to get it together in the 2nd half. Gotta be an indictment on preparation which I assume falls on the DC. Quote

Stafford has the volume passing stats, plus the narrative of the greybeard still getting it done. He also has two different WRs that are each more valuable better than every Bills WR combined, by a lot. 1 Quote
