Another reason this stinks, is that there is only a few weeks back, and you’re thinking you can finally enjoy an offseason (I don’t think Mahomes has ever had a full offseason?). Then this happens and you will have to rehab, and probably won’t be able to do the golfing, etc. you had planned.

9 months is about the fastest you can do it. I know AP did sooner he was a freak athlete. Mahomes is a great Quarterback, he isn't the same athletic freak AP was. That puts you right around opening day if everything goes perfectly. I think Wentz missed two or three weeks of the following season when tearing his a week sooner.

I suspect he misses at least some time and probably isn't himself for a period thereafter. Not because I want that to be the case, but because I think it will be.

General rule of thumb for top tier players and their recovery times.   Look at next years schedule and check the date they play the Bills.   That's the week they'll be back.   It's foolproof.

Anybody else think the hit on Mahomes was a bit late and dirty? I'm a little on the fence? I'm actually surprised that someone has not hit him that way before because he always squirms out of trouble and gets rid of it. Watching it live I dont think the KC players reacted in real time but what were the opinions after the game?

yea I think you chalk September as unlikely to be real. Even if he plays a week or two likely still ramping up.

October probably sees the field and can play from the pocket but may be missing some magic.

back to normalish back half of the season

wont be shocked if Reid uses this as an excuse to put some beef on the line and get a solid back to take pressure off the passing game but we will see

You don’t have to worry about that. Reid truly hates running the ball and would never design an offense to do so. That’s partly why he got fired in Philly. The man hates it, thinks running the ball is a total waste of time. It’s no coincidence that the chiefs offense sputters out just when the league goes more run/heavy. Andy is in for a few tough years ahead.
