Why don't they clear the snow from the field during timeouts and at halftime?

I generally don't like to start topics, but I do not understand why there are not teams of stadium personnel with shovels and/or snowplows to clear the field during stoppages and especially at at halftime?

Is there a reason? Is there a good reason?

Believe the rules say no equipment on the field during gameplay 

 

It's only permitted at halftime

 

But you can't bring out the snow blowers on TV timeouts

they tried back in 2016 (or was it 2017) in the game here against the Jets.   With some tractors that had spinning attachments. Ended up all but destroying the field 🤣🤣🤣

It’s seemed to hurt the bills more than the Bangles too, we seemed like we were tap dancing on ice all day, till we kicked there butts! 😅

Believe these are still current 

 

Or 95%... So they're allowed to clear 10 yard intervals and sidelines during play 

 

And during halftime they can remove if they want

It does something damaging to certain types of turf.

 

They'll use leafblowers to keep the lines and numbers clean during breaks in play but that's about it I think.

Was at a game this time of year back around 2014.  They were using John Deere tractors to clear the field of snow with an attachment which pulled up the rubber pellets and deposited them, by the time they finished, in the corners of the field.  What a mess.

You can see those pellets flying when guys are running over them sometimes.

I cannot imagine what a JD stiff brush attachment would do to them.

I always figured someone got fired for that decision.  It's a lot of field to clear in the little time players are off the field at end of 1st half and back on to warm up for the 2nd.

They tried and wound up making it worse. Our turf is the worse in the league. It’s filled with rubber pieces and any real snow removal equipment will remove the rubber.  Totally Billsy to install in an outdoor field.
