One throw that isn't being talked about is a throw against the 49ers in 2020, played in Arizona. At the 46 second mark. How Josh was able to get the ball over an outstretched Fred Warner and right into Gabe's breadbasket is unreal.

There is only one person in the NFL who can make this throw. One. Joshua Patrick Allen, and he added it to the HOF highlight reel today.

Yeah I'm not sure about that

So reminiscent of John Elway

I think he’s so much better than Eleay in every way.

really fun to watch this offense, too. We couldn't run at all, but the passing game was unstoppable, haha. Really a well-rounded receiving group overall.

… occurred during this game. And I just want to make sure that it doesn’t go by the wayside.

The difficulty of this throw is hard to quantify. It shouldn’t even be possible. The defenders this ball had to go past… the accuracy… the evasiveness… and to hit Shakir right dead set in the numbers.  Incredible.

Can’t believe I didn’t see this thread until now.  I’ve probably watched this throw 100 times by now.

My mind was blown.  In the moment, I remember thinking “did he really just do that?” and had to rewind it 10 times.   I had the same feeling on the initial TD call on the sideline throw to Knox.  Twice in one game with throws no one else can make.  Alas Knox wasn’t inbounds, but it was a helluva play

Amazing throw. I would argue this isn’t even in Allen’s top 3. Just off the top of my head, the pass to Murray in the Chiefs game, the  Ty Johnson throw in the Denver playoff game, the TD to Knox in the Patriots playoff game, the throw to Shakir vs Baltimore regular season last year.

I mean this is literally just the tip of the iceberg. He has some of the most improbable completions we have ever seen.

How about the cross-body throw to Cook (I think) when Allen was running one way and Cook the other? In traffic!

I am

I'm with you. I've seen Marino, Manning, Brady, Burrow, and others throw gorgeous, perfect balls. But I've never seen anyone make physics-bending throws like Allen makes every season. Think of his sideline collection alone. Mahomes makes his falling-down and no-look throws that give Collinsworth and Nick Collins shivers, but Allen is another level for the truly impossible throws.

Oddly, he's not as accurate overall as any of these quarterbacks.

Well, Josh is good for sure but it also speaks how bad Bengals #44 (rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight) at coverage - the whole time with back against the QB.

Josh saw that, as did Shakir and he snuck it right behind his back. amazing improvised version of the back shoulder

Great find Drac... completely forgot about the throw (and the game, lol).

And, btw, Beas was a problem back then. Sometimes (now?) his public rep overshadowed what he was doing on the field, but he was a freaking baller.
