transplantbillsfan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Guessing he's now our 4th outside CB, right? He'd been playing pretty much backup Safety all year with the ability to hop in as the slot and nickel CB. Now with Savage won't it just be a seamless transition to move him into Ingram's role? And isn't he better than Ingram? Sure seems like it to me. Ingram wasn't even active the last 3 games. And Darius Slay doesn't play Special Teams, Cam Lewis is a special teams ace. Plus, Darnell Savage was a pretty productive Packers DB who really just wasn't re-signed more for money issues than flat out not wanting him... sound familiar? So in the process of Slay refusing to report Beane upgrades our 4th CB and Safety depth while finding a possible future starter after this trial run. 4D chess by Beane 3 1 Quote

Plus for a little guy Cam hits like a Mack truck! Quote
boyst Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Cam Lewis would have been the difference for the Chiefs playoff game had he started and played the whole thing last year. He glued to Kelce and the middle playing a hybrid double nickel Quote
NeverOutNick Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Actually watch Lewis play. He consistently is out of position or gets beat for a big gain. Watch most 3rd and longs and see who’s the one giving up the first down. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Cam has been playing as our dime actually most of the last two years. And has played reasonably well. Would not want to rely on him at outside corner. 1 Quote

He had a horrible game against the Buccs (when he was playing more nickel for Taron who was out) but otherwise he has been pretty reliable and is certainly not responsible for every 3rd down or whatever it is you claimed. 1 Quote

He’s a liability in coverage. He’s not as awful Hamlin was at safety but he’s definitely the weak link in the secondary now and you’ll see it tomorrow when Burrow looks his way when we have 4 corners on the field. 1 Quote

Would not want to rely on him at outside corner. If they feel they need another outside corner, they'll bring Dane Jackson up from the PS. Not saying this is a great solution, but he's there when/if the need arises. Quote
