These are the type of players and human beings in general I just cannot tolerate.

He wants to be that vet in the locker room holding Keon accountable, fine. So be it. He's been here enough to earn that. But you and your offensive line mates give up 28 pressures, 8 sacks and you want us to look at Gabe at not coming down with what would have been an amazing catch? Really dude? Really?

Accountability starts with SELF accountability. He's not only clueless, but he shifting blame. How about not false starting on they key 4th and 1 of the game?

Can't guarantee it, but even if the Bills pull it out last night we are probably talking about the Texas sized ass whooping Houston laid on our supposed "top 5 OL" as some here call it

Tone deaf.

Self accountability is right.  Well said. That's a cop out answer.  I get trying to be positive, but he needs to also be grounded on reality with the failures and mistakes he made

Some possibilities for Dawkins' poor performance

1. Injury, possibly lower body. This may explain why his technique was off;

2. Stamina. He looked tired in the 2d half and he may be overweight.

3. Lack of effort. Dawkins usually plays with fire but not this game.

Thoughts?

Tim Settle was the insult to injury. Couldn’t tie his shoes with us, but is Reggie White when he’s got real DL talent around him.

Tim Settle and Poona Ford are Exhibits A and B for the prosecution.  Both were very good with their previous teams before coming to the Bills.  Neither was used effectively while with the Bills.  After they left they returned to being very good D linemen.  I call this the Bills Disease.  Take very good (or better than that) D linemen, and turn them into JAGs.  Who knows, even Rousseau and Epenesa might turn out to be good if they go somewhere else.  Remember "it's the economy, stupid" well for the Bills "it's the coaching, stupid".  The announcers are excusing the Bills trash run defense by repeating the fact that Ed Oliver is out.  Well, Oliver is good but not nearly as good as you'd expect from his draft position or from the comments I hear.  He gets run over just like the other DTs, and his splash plays are very infrequent.

McDermott uses all 11 as a unit, and that worked great when Poyer and Hyde were back there (while Poyer was still fast).  He wants his D line to control blocks and let his LBs and DBs make plays.  Back when Milano and White and Johnson were good players, and Poyer and Hyde were on the field, that plan worked.  Now our D line can't control those blocks, the LBs aren't as good and they're helpless against O linemen charging past our D line, and our DBs can't make plays.

The Bills are collapsing into the drought-era Bills, when they had a handful of pretty good (or better) players but way too many weak links to win.  Josh's abilities are masking the collapse of the roster, but except for Josh, Cook, Kincaid, Bishop, Brown (when healthy) and maybe Walker (who looks like a steal) the Bills are a shell of the 13 second game team.

The good times had to end sometime.  Too bad it's the same year when KC and Baltimore also collapsed.  One more good year and they'd have had their shot at a SB.

It's over.

When your Quarterback says in an interview early in the season that winning a Super Bowl was no longer a must for him, you've got a major problem.  Time to shake things up and not just with the half wit wideout.

I never heard Josh say winning a Superbowl is no longer a must.  In fact, when he won the MVP, he downplayed the honor, saying  “You know, it is such a great honor, and I do appreciate being honored for my work, but at the same time, I still didn’t win a Super Bowl. Didn’t win a ring, and that is the only goal. It’s the only focus that I’ve ever had going into this league.”  I know since he's gotten married, he has gained perspective regarding if he never wins one.  He'll look at it as the "one that got away" but it also won't negate the other accomplishments he's had in life.

I said in another thread, his attitude is emblematic of a major underlying issue this team has.

Dawkins just wants to vibe.  Which is fine, but not when you’re a team leader on a team that hasn’t even been to a Super Bowl.

He said before the season “it’s never Super Bowl or Bust” and proceeded to give a five minute explanation why.

His play on the field has been uneven, and last night, piss poor .. but he then says outside his locker that we weren’t out-physicaled.  Ok, buddy… whatever you say.

Soft.  This whole team outside Allen, Brown, injured McGovern and Bosa gutting it out with one hand, are soft.  I’d throw Bishop in there with how he’s been playing.  Blew up Nico and is one of the few bright spots on Defense.

the HC is a major reason why this stupid culture persists.  I'd trade Dawkins this offseason.  Get a OT who gives a shi* about winning here.  in fact, I'd even try to trade him to the Browns since he is fine with loosing.

I am begining to think this team has to many "business men" and not enough "sickos"

it's a violent game. It requires dogs and loose wires. The best teams create a culture that can absorb these types and not splinter from it. We aren't that type of org. This team has no edge. The two guys that gave us the most of that edge were Diggs and Hollins.

I was so pissed at Dawkins last night that I would consider benching Dawkins against the Steelers to at least start the game or for the first quarter, hell even the game if need be, to send a message.  It was inexcusable effort last night - for a guy who a week ago called out Keon for time for pats on the back is done and its time to grow up, this is unacceptable play from him.

100% this.  If the season will be salvaged, a message needs to be sent that Dawkins 1/2 assed effort last night is not tolerable.  The Cowboys benched PIckens and Lamb for the first drive.  I'd go even further.  What Dawkins did (or didn't do) yesterday was more inexcusable than Coleman missing a meeting.  You're supposed to be a team leader and you get your butt kicked every play, then false start, then joking around at the end of the game, then blame Davis.

Tough guy Spencer Brown was a beaten man at the end of the night as well.

I exempt him.  He kept trying to play even though injured, becoming a massive liability.  One of the coaches should have subbed him out before they (eventually) did.  This coaching staff is a total joke.  Terrible and soft team culture, no game day IQ, etc.
