I strongly dislike OBJ BUT even when he was with the Rams, he was electric and def provided a spark, would've been the MVP of that SB probably. Saying he was good off of one play is just asinine. Why? Is the Eli manning thing dumb? Have you seen his career record? Is he sniffing the hall of fame without the two super bowls or his last name for that matter? Of course not. Does he win those two super bowls without those admittedly awesome throws? No. No other qb I can think of made it to the hall on two throws. as for the obj comment. Yes I will admit he was great. But my point (which I made poorly) was his notoriety was based on that Monday night (or was it Sunday night?) catch Edited 4 hours ago by dcinmuncie Quote

He’s done a lot more than “one play”. With all that said, I’d give him a tryout (why not), but I have to imagine he’s cooked at this point. 1 Quote

The throw to Manningham down the sideline was one of the best throws in the history of the game. He and Hicks went elsewhere and became absolutely nothing. Why? Who cares about his career record, he won 2 SB's. 2 SB MVPs, 7-2 road record in the playoffs. The two throws your referring to weren't even touchdowns.... Edited 4 hours ago by warrior9 Quote

Yup that and suffocating defense The giants scored a grand total of 39 points in 2 superbowls In a hypothetical world where those two awesome throws don’t happen do the giants win either Super Bowl? Is Eli manning superbowl mvp? And does he sniff the hall of fame? to me, the answer to all 3 is no which is why I remain steadfast he is going to the hall of fame on 2 throws I’ll just agree to disagree with you on this one Quote

He had those 2 superbowl runs beating the Pats. But he only had average stats in regular season and was never an NFL MVP. Tough sell to get into the HOF and thats why they passed him over the first year. Quote

He got cut from the dolphins IIRC? did the ravens even make an attempt to to resign him in ‘24? Quote
JP51 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I get the nostalgia... but no... we need to stop kicking money down the road to sign aged middling players in hopes that they can resurrect glory days... its really not working all that well... Quote

Do you remember when… Hes over the hill and for now, our answers are upon the team. For me it’s’s Palmer, An alternating Shavers and Davis, and Shakir. 5th can be Moore or Samuel, whoever is healthy, and if we needed after this week a returner, then Hardman. Screw Coleman. Disorganized, not prepared or even professional. Knox or to a smaller degree Hawes until Kinkaid is absolutely 100%. Cook of course, and when needed the other two, but make them the safety valve for the out route passes. Brady should confuse defenses by sometimes when we decide to run, have Knox in there sometimes, so we are not predictable. No more of this crap behind the line of scrimmage. Did you guys notice our running game against Tampa stunk as they loaded thr box, but then we kept hitting downfield, and softened them up, and wha la, the running game dramatically improved. Sure, they had 200 rushing yards, but Baker who is my second favorite QB, was pedestrian. We gave up the running game, and they blitzed 60% of the time, which is common for Bowles and it normally works. It did nothing for their defense and we took advantage of it. Bowles is normally a defensive expert, but not this week. We made lots of mistakes, but darn that game was fun. Almost as much fun as the Chiefs game. We may have finally found a WR crew with Coleman on the line. So a hell no to OBJ. I’d rather draft one to two every year for a couple of years. I know we need a LB, a Nickel CB, but WR has to finally be top priority, and free agency is a no go. We just don’t have the $. Quote
Low Positive Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago How many of the people on here that are dead set against signing him are going to flip their lids when he signs with the Chiefs, Pats, or Ravens? Quote

You dont have to like the guy but saying hes a HOFer on 2 throws is ridiculous. He also had almost 60k passing yards. He's 11th all time in yards and TDs with 2 SBs ... Sure, agree to disagree but I don't think you are looking at his whole body of work Quote
