Allen has already taken as many sacks this year as he did through the entire season last year. So yeah I also don't know if trying to hang in the pocket is the solution. Every solution fans are trying to come up with is talking around the real problem which is the personnel. Since that problem isn't likely to be fixed we have to live through the run game and Allen playing like Mac Jones. I hate the architecture but it's all we can do. it seems somewhat like we do quick screens when Allen will have time to throw and we are running longer developing routes when he's blitzed....... I feel like QBR has gotten to be a more reliable stat over time. When I look at the leaders at the end of the season and the overall pecking order, it rings true. I strongly suspect they've tweaked the algorithm over time so that it doesn't end up with the crazy results it had in the first 1-2 years of its existence. Sort by QBR on this page for the 2024 season and you'll see what I mean: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/passing.htm. Edited 4 hours ago by dave mcbride Quote

When Allen gets out of the pocket he isn't finding anybody working open for him downfield, or the intended receiver isn't making a clean catch along the sideline. This alone might explain the difference between the passing game numbers last year versus this year. Most of our explosive pass plays last year were off schedule. This year those plays just aren't happening. Gabe has his issues but he is quite good at adlib plays downfield with Josh and finding ways to get open when Allen leaves the pocket IMO If we're lucky, that may help the offense considerably and in a hurry Edited 4 hours ago by Warriorspikes51 1 1 Quote

The first is a reception where the DB is playing well off coverage on a slant. This doesn’t highlight anything he’s discussing (separation, awareness, etc.) The second is a terribly constructed route combination of 2 on 3 in a zone that spanned about 5 yards of the football field. He can argue lazy route and loafing on this but again there is just so much at play here. If anything was lazy it’s that Smith didn’t take the 10 minutes he could have to find actual examples that reflect his more valid criticisms. He did that in his review last year. Again I’m not disagreeing with his analysis but he film review was weak. There are 3 plays alone in the first half that Keon was open later, or could have been targeted and Allen got off him quickly. I don’t know why he wouldn’t use these examples. Agreed about the two clips. And whether Smith was making a valid point using them. he seems a bit lazy and wandering as well lol. But Keon has shown up in other clips as not being aware or lack of Team effort each down. Thats just My lazy opinion 1 Quote

He needs to trust what is happening a bit more, but the receivers need to get open for him much more often. 1.2.3 release . Here come the ball. Go get it. Brady might do well to scheme guys into enough space for the receptions. Now getting Josh to trust that , is another matter. Flares perhaps. Curls ?? Quote

Bills don't have longer , developed routes. They just don't . and the screens are not enough to make an impact. Where is Chan Gailey when we need him most 😋 29 minutes ago, Warriorspikes51 said: Gabe has his issues but he is quite good at adlib plays downfield with Josh and finding ways to get open when Allen leaves the pocket IMO If we're lucky, that may help the offense considerably and in a hurry Scramble drills Gabe can do. Haha, essentially she had some mental existential crisis apparently about what is real and what isn't in her life. There are a ton of other articles about it, probably just picked a bad one Quote
