bud...it's called good parenting.  if you raise your kids with morals and values, and you lead by example...they'll turn out fine.  monitoring content and having open conversations with your children is what's going to shape them.

we've already encounters aspects of this already.  we spend a lot of time in the thousand islands, in the same small town where the locals are recognizable.  one of them is the very tall man, in his early to mid 70s, who has decided to live as a woman. over time this guy has leaned into it more and more, and on occasion it's jarring.  bright red lipstick, completely done up, wearing half shirts, etc.  of course my kids had questions, so we explained it to them the best we could.  now, they just brush it off.  i'll get the elbow pump from my son when we see him, but he doesn't bother us, and we don't bother him.  this doesn't have to be hard.

Interesting, would you agree this is just one man’s approach to Thousand Islands dressing?

I know a guy who’s a well known drag queen in the local clubs.  To be fair, I had no idea he was well known until a coworker told me.  Nice enough guy, a tad over the top on certain business interactions in a very dramatic sense, his husband tends to temper that a bit.  My children are grown, but being candid, I’d have had issues with a drag queen event at their school when they were young.   Should they choose to attend drag shows as adults, have at it.  I’d be DD as I occasionally have for all sorts of shows.

Dude, we’re up to 12?  We’re like Bezos in his garage in January 1995.  It’s all about to pop!  Soon….15….then 20.  Then, gosh, who knows?

i'd be furious if my kids school had drag queen events, but how often is this honestly happening?  i'm certainly not saying it hasn't happened, but i don't think a few online clips are an indication of this massive movement to turn children gay, trans or whatever.

No idea how widespread it is, but there are enough clusters of issues relative to parents rights, locker room issues, and for that matter sexual abuse  at schools that are worthy of discussion.  “Massive movement”, no, I would agree with you. However, I do believe that parents have a right to speak up, voice their concerns where they feel it’s necessary. Quite a few years ago, I was speaking with the friend of a friend, an acknowledged liberal who was also a Pats fan.  He was employed as a school counselor and spoke about some of the initiatives he was spearheading.  I can summarize by saying he put lots of emphasis on toxic masculinity, how every male needed to be held to account, that sort of thing.  I thought he was a bit nuts, and he went on to share the abuse his father heaped upon his mother and how it impacted him.   Well, I get that and have sympathy for his experience, running a program hanging guilt on a generation of students was not the answer.  It wasn’t all that much later the #blamehim movement became a national movement.

So, imo, push back on things that bother you, even if it might not bother someone else.  Oh, and on your thoughts regarding raising strong children to be strong adults, I always encouraged my children to view agendas, consider the narratives and decide the impact on their lives.  Part of that was encouraging them to push back on my narratives, shaped and formed by my experiences.

I watched that show Mind Hunters on Netflix which was really excellent, about serial killers and FBI. But like a lot of stuff out now it all seems thrown together last minute stuff. There are so many actors, producers, etc. out there trying to get stuff on the air that it seems like they just patch stuff together helter skelter and hope it works and when it does they scramble to keep it going before moving on to the next project.

i apprecaite it, but i'm not sure what would happen.  would he watch and episode, quietly walk up stairs to his room, only to return in full on drag?

Is that what happened to you?

It's not a massive movement but I think the scare is it could be if it's not slowed down soon enough.

I live in Atlanta and that type of show would not happen here.

But we can still make fun of this.

It's a long video so I will just give you a quick and condensed version.

These guys made up studies as a hoax, studies like how the male penis is a major cause of global warming and watching dogs humping leads to sexual assault in humans.  These were reviewed by Professors with PhD's and published it.

don't get me wrong.  i'm always cautious about what my kids are around.  i have them in private schools to make sure of that even though we have to pay a small fortune in school taxes.  it's worth it to me for a number of reasons, but my thought with parenting is that good solid parents produce kids of the same cloth.  not always, but that's the goal.  if they can sift through the nonsense, i'll have done something right.

I agree with you completely about the good parents, this is not an issue with me and my kids. My question to you is why do I need to affirm their delusion? if they get mad at being "misgendered" who is wrong?

I will state a local high school did a play called "Head over Heels" that discussed the concept of an open marriage and how trans are  more "evolved" than normal people. I had to at that point explain that stuff to my 7th grade daughter who was given extra credit for going to see it.

So it happens sometimes under another guise.

At this point the trans stuff in schools and in content clearly aimed at children has been well documented for years.

Is it ubiquitous? No.

Is it fairly widespread? Absolutely.

It is just as inappropriate as if schools or streaming services were extolling the virtues of banging hoes and going to strip clubs aimed at seven year old boys. Do we ever hear anecdotal stories of this happening in schools or in cartoons for kids?  I wonder why we don't?

It's completely wrong no matter how widespread it is.

As for parenting being the solution...sure if you catch it as you happen to be present when your young child is sitting in front of the TV and this type of content comes on while you're actually paying attention.

Then they get an iPad with wifi available everywhere they go....then they get their first phone and a TikTok account.....

Good luck.

why a high school would do that i have no idea.  we had an incidence where on of the local schools had a book in a library that discussed cross dressing or something along those lines.  it caused a stir with angry parents at meeting, but i think the super made things much worse. other than that, i just can't think of any other incident around here at least.

Notice how MAGA incels scream about ‘protecting kids,’ yet stay silent on MAGA judges, politicians, clergy, and Trump-Epstein.

It is never about kids- it’s about hate, control, division, and deflecting from the chaos this regime is fueling at home and across the globe.

There was once a poster here who had Billstime pleading with him to not report him to the mods over a post. I can't remember what it was exactly, but if even Billstime knew it was a PPP offense worthy of banning then it must have been egregious.

The poster agreed to not report him if Billstime deleted the post and agreed to cut out the massive shlit posting going forward.

Guess which poster ended up banned and which poster is still here to increase his shlit posting by the day unabated?

Don't engage with this shlit stain at all please.

Cancel Netflix? I got one word - Ozark

I think that was the last series I watched in its entirety on Netflix.

Last week I started House of Guinness...and what do you know five minutes into episode 1.... we are introduced to Arthur Guinness being gay.

Because of course!
