He was the first big personality of the NFL—incredibly talented, and known way beyond the football field. Love the clip of Johnny Unitas (also from the Pittsburg area). He was much better than shown on this clip. And Orson Wells, wow! The big question is, who was higher that evening, Broadway Joe, or Dean Martin? Namath came to the AFL with a knee that was already screwed up. Had it not been for that injury his legend would have been much greater 1 Quote

The Bills lost to The Oakland Raider 48-6 in the Rockpile and as we were leaving the stadium the Goodbye Collier chants started. See, even though the Bills got destroyed WE STILL DIDN'T LEAVE EARLY. 😝 I remember listening to that game on the radio while in chestnut ridge park 2 1 Quote

He was a big deal in college, like Tory Hunter. Projected as a star at two positions, starred at neither. It's a testament to how hard it is to draft. One guy is a first round HOF player, one guy has a mediocre career, and yet during the draft it was an actual debate over who should go first. 1 Quote

I was the youngest of three, and my older sister by 8 years insisted on going to the Raiders game. They were the hot ticket, and I got shouted down. I may wait until 2am to call and say hello, how are things, and do you remember that game? 1 Quote

Reminds me of Peyton Manning vs Ryan Leaf. Quote
