this is really encouraging.  He may well lock up the CB2 role right now....

If only we had a rookie Safety (start Hancock!) who could help immediately.   Hancock has instincts and the "IT" factor IMO

With all the craziness of the game this has gotten kind of buried IMO.  It's remarkable an unheralded 6th rd rookie made his first start against an elite top offense in the league, in the biggest game of the new year in primetime, and did not stick out as a liability at all.  He quietly also beat out Ingram (and sent another veteran Jackson to the PS).  Will be interesting to see what happens when Tre gets back

This is 100% not true.

I believe Strong played the entire game.

he didnt really get beat,  and he actually tackled Henry.  thought he played well considering.  actually a bright spot for me.  makes me feel better about our CB depth.

Strong got killed on crossers throughout the game. Besides that he was decent, and did make a nice save on Henry.

He had a tough time navigating traffic at times; really hesitant to attack routes early in the play.

I thought the entire defense was like that though, spending waaaaay too much time diagnosing Baltimores wide variety of mesh points instead of making a decisive read and getting after it... except Epenasa of course, lol

I'd probably hold Babich more responsible for that hesitancy than I do most of the players.

his build looks developed already.  Pretty impressive 6th round pick!

WGR said Strong played 17 snaps this morning, which was later proven to be wrong.  Thanks

WGR?  Is that thing still around?

Wait, was Epenesa on the field?   I really don't remember seeing him at all.   Or maybe I just memory holed some of those plays.

He probably only had 10-15 snaps, but he again got caught crashing hard down the line right at the snap while Jackson waltzed through the massive hole he'd just vacated.

oh he was definitely on the field.  i watched him get faked out terribly by Jackson a bunch of times.  one was so bad that he completely went down the line after the RB who didnt have the ball as Jackson went right by him for a long run.  was not a good night for AJ.

He was, but I thought he at least learned from it quickly and adjusted as the game went on.

Getting way ahead of myself:

If Strong is competent and when Max is healthy, I wouldn't be horribly surprised if Tre was released and added to the practice squad (the role I thought he'd have this year). How often does the healthy CB4 dress if they don't play special teams? Ingram would be the active CB4 on gameday.

One play in Q4 stands out, showed some agility I didn't realize he had!

That isn't out of left field, but they'd have to release a vet from the practice squad to do it.

If he's healthy I think I'd rather see him dressed before Strong for at least this year.
