Oliver has been a good player for us for a while. He had a rough 9-10 game stretch early last year, but turned it on down the stretch. All of the trade talk on here about him was goofy.

Oliver isn’t always consistent but he’s routinely been a prime time player.  Sunday night and Monday night games he has a way of looking like a game changing talent.  If he can bring that all season long and the rookies start to come along I think we’ll be improved.

Dont get me wrong tonight’s defensive performance wasn’t stellar but the Ravens are a hard team to play.  They stress every inch of your defense and can be tricky for young players.  We survived and we learned.

But definitely a game ball for Oliver tonight.

I have said he's not as good as quite a few in his draft class as a DT. But I had to take a bow today that he rose up to the level.

Great game today.

Being honest, I got misty watching how amazing Oliver was when he stripped that ball for the fumble.

Watch that clip if you can. He had an offensive lineman on his left side plowing into him, and he used his right hand to reach out and tear the ball from Henry's hands, dragging him down in the process. With one hand! And Henry is huge for a running back.

Ed Oliver is STRONG!

Ed Oliver IS a buffalo! 😀

I felt wrong to say something bad about Oliver today but looking back of his career, compared to guys like Jones, or guys in his draft class like Simmons, you probably would say we want those guys. Like someone posted in this thread, consistency is an issue.

Looking at the team we are chasing, the Chiefs, how many time they are getting the kind of play Oliver gave the Bills last night in big spots during their current run of going to the superbowl? Without those plays, the Chiefs might just have one superbowl (when they still had Hill). They can be teetering on bad in defense at games but guys like Jones rose up to make a play or enabled someone else to make a play at a crucial moment. Last night, we have an actual taste of what it is like to have someone -- Oliver -- in this case to make THE play for us. I said a guy in our defense MADE a play, not like last year's Ravens playoff game where the opponent made mistakes on their own. I'm hoping we get that kind of performance in big games this year, especially the playoffs, from someone, not necessarily always Oliver but someone!

Ed put on his big boy britches for the Ravens game... Hopefully we see more of this Ed going forward

It could be that the human wave tactics on DL is having the effect of freeing up Oliver.  Absolute monster game.  Will be fun watching him against lesser QB/OL combinations

massive IF, but playing consistently like that most weeks is All-Pro

would be HUGE for our hopes if this continues.  Interior pressure on key plays is enormous value

tackling Henry in the backfield violently and forcing a fumble on another play.....big time!

Ed’s been quietly ascending for three years now. Last remaining step is All Pro really. Never understood any recent Ed slander

He needs consistency.  If he finds that, he could elevate to an elite level DT.  That type of talent is in him.

Also.. Bosa was noticeable after he figured out how to defend a read option..  I have to think his presence helps open up things for Oliver in a way we haven’t really had before, aside from a few pre-injury Von games.

Inconsistent through the season, but dude consistently shows up against the biggest and hardest teams. Always shows up against KC, one of the only Defensive players to show up in those games and probably the only one to show up in multiple.

I'm fine with him disappearing against the Jets and Titans as long as he shows up big like that against the Ravens and Chiefs. Although maybe not for his 2026 cap hit. Something will need to be done there...

Great game last night.
