Ensuring Democrats never get back into meaningful power again is the best use of tax dollars. This includes such things as new census, redistricting, 100M deportations, executing many more criminals, etc.

This is part of a long-term GOP strategy.

The constitution (we still care about that, right?) mandates a decennial census where we count the people. No 3/5 of certain people anymore.

But it doesn't necessarily say that congressional districts need to be drawn based on those whole people. So the GOP would like to retain the benefit of a large illegal population (have you ever actually been to Texas?) to get more congressional seats/electoral votes, but to also obtain the benefit of drawing districts based on other ways of counting, like excluding illegal aliens.

Frankish to pretend the Constitution is a concern to you after the Dems trying to keep Trump off the ballot while also giving illegals the right to vote is beyond absurd. There is nothing that makes a census more common illegal, it simply must be done every ten years at a minimum.  The exact words are:

The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative

I think you're mixing up two things. Apportionment - the number of representatives each state has - is different from districting. And this difference is what Republicans today are trying to exploit.

As for the "enumeration" clause - yes, it does clearly contemplate once in ten years. And apportionment is based on that. Even the Republicans today aren't arguing that (for example, saying that net out migration from California should result in that state losing a rep or two before the next census)

Why do you dilute your argument by stating that Dems gave illegals the right to vote? That simply did not happen…anywhere or anytime…

If I was an illegal alien in 2024 in California could I get a driver license?

I am aware of what I wrote but it is you can get a driver's license in CA you can register to vote, but even more importantly SF, OAK, and other towns allow them to vote in local elections but "stop" them from voting in the federal elections. They actually have no process in place to actually catch someone but trust us they respect the law.

It's illegal without modifications to the Census Act through Congress.

Get over it.

Instead of this stupid stuff, why doesn’t congress do something important like fix our ridiculous immigration system? Republicans could do it if they wanted to, but both parties would rather have the political football to kick back and forth and blame the other.

This is true but Democrats could have done something as well, but they chose to gaslight. Sad.

Sad that you don’t recognize that both parties are guilty for the mess we have. Trump has shut down the border, so now is the time to address this problem.
